This was the document that turned the colonies back over to King George, so that doesn't make John Adams a hero, even if he and George Washington were on opposite sides of Thomas Jefferson's faction. It seems to me that it is a good example of people in power still serving the same master, just different avenues. It would be interesting if someone didn't paint each side as the good guys. I don't know if George Washington was a "good" guy or not. I would say follow the money. He and his family were huge landowners. It is hard to say who was a victim who had the sort of power that both he and John Adams had, including Thomas Jefferson and all the others who were in power.
