fgmxd4957: Gatekeeping is still a very serious issue though. Since over 90% of the existing player base are day 1 veterans with established rosters and characters who never stopped grinding the game, the standards for being accepted into lobbies for group content are unreasonably high, and making your own lobby often fails since there are not enough new players to join and the rest will see you as a rat who wants to be carried and won't join. The honest truth is that the game is absolutely worth playing until you hit the wall, which is where you graduate from solo raids and want to do endgame content that is only group based, and the only time it's possible is when there is an ongoing mokoko bootcamp event or when you find a static group of like minded players, and not many new players would be willing to spend multiple days or weeks searching for such a group since our current population is not that high. I'm not dooming here - I am just expressing my concerns regarding the problems that still exist in the game for new and returning players. I just cannot sugar coat them and pretend that they don't exist.

999karai: Should You Play Lost Ark in 2025? , short answer - NO! , long answer - the main pain points have not been addressed, amazon seems try to make adjustments for us but the main thing - progression, is still broken.

1) have to disagree with Cauttyh when he says 'you can only play 1 char' , no you cannot - you will not earn enough gold, at least not if you want to do hard mode version of raid (which is now mendatory due to HM dropping progression mats unique to HM)

2) honing is so f***ing damn EXPENSIVE and to anyone who watched the last loa-on (which was a session of whale boot-licking by the director) understands its BY DESIGN, and when asked he said he is NOT going to nerf the cost currently which is INSANE.

3) Cauttyh was somewhat not completely honest with the new accessory system - yes its probably better than old one but now accessories comes with random rolls and to get 1 accessory with 2/3 good rolls be prepared to shill out 250k gold PER ACCESORY.

4) relic engravings - oh oh oh...where do I start with that? did you think paying 10k per grudge book back than was bad? how about 340k PER BOOK for adrenaline? or 225k PER BOOK for keen blunt? and yes you still need 20 of those (have fun with that...) , another broken system BY DESIGN (I think you can see the pattern...)

5) no soft reset on gems - lvl 10 tier 4 gems 2.55 MILLION EACH, lvl 9 - 950k...have fun with that

6) gatekeeping - at its worst probably currently , dont expect to be invited to any 1690 hm raid without at LEAST a few lvl 8 tier 4 (old tier 3 lvl 10's) and with new combat power system which is just gonna put a 'number' on you expect to be gatekept hard if you dont have well-rolled accesories/gems etc....

justo come back or start playing Lost ark IF,

1- you NEED to have friends to do the raids, dont know anyone, STRONG, that are playing Lost ark, STAY AWAY.

2- play like a solo game, dont try to do NOTHING with others players (onle the guardians) , do the solo e keep doing the solo content.

like this you'll, MAYBE, have some fun.

or do better, go play tetris ^^ is better.

zinoit5: No you should not, you should not play the game in 2025, the community is more garbage than that of MOBAs which says a lot, it is impossible to get to multiplayer content without an event (free stuff to circumvent garbage systems is not good game design). I started at 1340, 3 months ago, I reached 1585 without events, multiplayer starts at 1620, you will be drowning in shit systems before you get to that point.

I was super hyped for the game. I was one of those guys who followed this game FOREVER. Literally. So far back I cannot tell you the year it was, but I remember when the clips on youtube started to come out the game was not released yet. So not only did I hype up a lot of people, but I basically got an entire discord server to come over and play.. The biggest pain point to me by far bar none was the amount of RMT'ing that people just got away with. I knew a dude that bought his account, gear, and gold. He was dumping HUNDREDS of dollars into the game in RMT a month and never got banned. Then he sold his account to someone we know, the account is still alive and well.. I may come back and check it out. But Lost Ark actually made me anti pay to win. I was okay with some PTW because my wife works, she is a doctor. We'd never be able to game together if there was ZERO PTW. But nope. I flopped hard on that position, I don't/won't play game that are PTW and or don't protect the honest players. The other thing was the PVP cheating. I loved PVP till I got into the high tiers. Then it was just all cheaters. Took the wind out of my sails hard. I don't expect a perfect community, but that game is designed so poorly and so painfully that in order to have fun, people just cheat. And it is a fun game. No doubt, the combat system is the second best I ever played behind BDO, and that gap between them is TINY. Very few games you can fairly judge against them for combat.

Haiderali-tw3jn: tbh I tried returning but after conversing with some people I was told that it's near impossible to reach endgame content with your own built character and it's better to just use the passes they give which was a HUGE bummer to me because for what reason did I even put so many hours into the game progressing the character then? and in the end I decided to just delete the game.
