pcbacklash_3261: The boys are missing the entire point of the movie. It's like life: It's not about the conclusion or the outcome. It's about the journey that gets us there! "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is all about the adventure. It wouldn't be much of a movie if the ark just found its way to the warehouse.

АлексейКузьмичев-е7б: Indiana Jones is absolutely necessary for the plot. Because remember, originally the Arc was supposed to be opened in Berlin by Hitler himself. But Indy destroyed Nazi's plane, so they decided to go on the boat and open the Arc on the island.

If it wasn't for Indy, Hitler would have died in 1930's.

prismak7607: That's true but it's also a complicated way to say that the plot is not resolved by the main character but through a deus ex machina (literally...), so at the end the main character seems pretty useless, like in any situation in which there is a deus ex machina.
