Shopping CartTheKataclism: GoldRiver is like a giant emergency bandaid SG keeps throwing at ppl
stormkid4: We've all known this, including the devs, they just didn't want to change it. I love lost ark's super difficult raids, but the fact it's the only thing available and MANDATORY for progression really killed it for me overtime.
I don't want to do brelshaza-esk raids week in, week out. Especially when my static is quiting one by one.
The most successful mmos out there has a great balance of vertical and horizontal content
If they truly want a big revival they would need to invest in new systems that make players want to log in and not just another raid for hardcore players.
---do2qd: Very well put, agree with you.
jaggnuplays: we need lost ark 2 in order to fix everything
IceDrakaryon: the weakness: that bozo director
he been killing the game since his first trash system: elixir
ValkyrionX2: SG to GoldRiver: "Till you are 90."
taleofsonata1: Benji, Lost ark is basically dead, the very least they can do is to focus on Lost ark 2/Mobile aka what they've been doing. A brand new mega hard reset to the game. Unreal engine 5 instead of 3.
SpiriitFox: Lost Ark was great best Raid/combat system if ever seen YET it feel like a fucking Job you had to make Alt and RMT to keep up
cyborg7162: Fully agree, they focused so much around raids and vertical progression that everything around have been "abandonned"
Others mmo's also has really hard raids but because they propose so many different avenue to play the game, raids struggle only has a moderate impact in the game,
Some will tell you, well thats lost ark is a "raid simulator" only and it is build only for that only, i disagree, i think it could be a bit more with some work through diversity
FIa5h: lucky for me i have another game to hop on when im done with lost ark raids.
koszyk2915: When emergency stream is not enough anymore, you need to hide behind someone who has some social credit score to spend left
LipFoliage: What's funny is all the KR players complain about needing more content outside of raids, but they were the same ones that screamed at SG to stay making raids, and now the KR community are in their own hole they dug.
Trenk2009: Yeah, pretty much. I mean, we've been saying this for years now, so... This game desperately needs more than just raiding. And ironically, the period when Lost Ark was at its absolute peak in the West was precisely when raiding wasn't the main focus.
- Better, actual housing
- Meaningful lifeskilling: gathering, crafting, and professions that are actually worth investing time into.
- Unique solo content that gives solo players something substantial to work towards.
- Meaningful exploration: a world that feels alive and worth exploring, with less instancing.
- Better, more rewarding PvP that actually serves a purpose.
- Meaningful guild mechanics that give players real reasons to build communities and play together.
- Better, more useful sea content.
- Reward scaling to keep older content relevant instead of pointlessly letting it become obsolete. Islands, map dungeons, Rowen, etc. could all remain worthwhile if their rewards were properly adjusted, rather than constantly removing content altogether (Phantom Boat, etc.).
- More substantial horizontal content updates. Not a single island once in a blue moon and one collectible every decade.
I could honestly list a billion different ideas for this game, ranging from simple features that would be relatively easy to implement to full-blown reworks that could fundamentally improve the experience.
But instead, we get 2–3 raids a year and 2 classes a year. That's basically the entire content roadmap. Almost everything else they add can be exhausted in a couple of weeks, if not a couple of hours.
The problem isn't a lack of potential content. It's that the game is so overwhelmingly focused on raiding that almost every other aspect of the MMO experience gets neglected.
drgremory5275: aion2 currently is a great example that you dont need to lock every progression with a raid
Xioneer5: I understand what you saying but for all that stuff its a bit too late.
GioSH94: Idea for Extreme Raids: Give players a 4-week window to clear it for an exclusive or animated title. After 4 weeks, the raid stays but the title downgrades. This lets others try it at their own pace and get the legendary title later, cutting out the FOMO panic while still rewarding the top clearers. Just my 5 cents/copium, but what do you guys think?
davlar9714: For me, I just really hope they maybe could update their engine a bit. UE3 is such a dated game engine at this point, and it shows. And considering i’m playing all these other games (WWM, Aion 2, Aniimo, etc), it’s easy to see. They either need to do a graphicsl rework, or - make a new lost ark game all together.
Cwapcake: When Saint saw about this like few days ago he was like "I've been saying this for so long " and he was right. He was glad he quit this game.
Warzol: lost ark has earned a spot to be some what a good mmorpg but it has rubbed people the wrong way each new season/update to the game and took them that long to fix the shit that should have been fixed during the time it was still being tested in KR or released in global. Not only that, the gatekeeping is fawkin ROUGH man. i quit the game back in 2024. I want the game to get better but as it stands it's not worth getting back into if gatekeeping and the other shit is still a problem. Lost Ark does have great raid content to combat but that is it.
Roboante11: All true except is too late. A good MMO game should focus on hard endgame raid and other activities for chill players, i agree with that. But now its too late because there are only tryhard endgame veteran players still playing the game.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIiyi: this game is already dead in the west , aion 2 killed LOA and there is nowadays better games to play like Trails in the sky second chapter remake , fire emblem fortune's weave and others new releases .
Faalxzz: This is why equalised hell mode is crucial, satisfies the people who need a challenge and doesn't force people to spend crazy. Enough with the greed SG this extreme style of challenge is terrible.
jaggnuplays: grats ggs
jugadorzero2671: It's curious how people waited for Mordum to criticize that balance patch, when some classes still have problems outside this raid and still, there's no solution. The last time i saw some real "work" for this was exactly, in Mordum last year. Captain Jack had to explain the situation about the balance, gems, bussing, etc and just only for that, Smilegate decided to take action.
mokasa6: Glad that im not the only one who thinks this. Personally I was so excited to see the "recycling of old bosses gamemode" that they showed during loaon. But after it came to kr and i saw that it wasn't a new mode but just an event i was beyond disappointed. Im hoping GoldRiver can cook up to stop me from dooming
allyyyyyyp: The issue isn't that Ex Mordum was so hard. The issue is that its difficulty is artificial and an attempt to cater to whales that spend exorbitantly in order to reach the CP requirement. That is also exacerbated by the horrible balance between classes like lets say drizzle/wf versus top 4 classes on western bible.
SG deserves to make money off of their game for sure. Its the only way the studio stays alive. But when their greed is excessive and harming the state of the game too much that is an issue.
HeiLong24: my entire group beat belgardin HM after 2 hours. and we're all uninstalling. we're a group of players where everyone is over 10k hours, full time jobs. light spenders here and there. no one wants to deal with astrogems anymore. progression is trash. even after going down to playing ONE character a week, everything feels like a chore. dailies suck. weeklies suck. if someone's schedule changes one week, 7 others have to completely change their schedules. too many things about the game make it annoying to play.
