They both suck, you want to play a good Korean game, play Crimson Desert, you want to play an Korean MMO with life services play Black Desert Online. Why because Pearl Abyss will use the money from the live services to fund games like Crimson Desert (2026 Game of the year) or DokeV (projected to release late 2027, early 2028)

khavyar: I've been waiting for someone to make a video like this because I saw the similarities right away. I have friends who are excited about Aion 2, but quit Lost Ark early smh. I, on the other hand, played LA religiously and quit right before Kazeros came out. I feel like I will probably be a little disappointed in the quality/difficulty of the raids. (Also, welcome back!)

michaelman90: Biggest reason for me dropping Lost Ark was that alts were necessary but investing into them felt horrible. I love playing alts but having to go through every almost single system (honing, gems, karma, elixirs, etc) on every single alt just felt abysmal since Smilegate took forever to add catch-up mechanics and when they did they felt half-baked.

I think Aion making a lot of rewards character-bound instead of account-bound is pretty nice since you don't feel punished for not having a full roster of alts and also because raising alts doesn't feel like an opportunity cost to your main since the resources are character-bound anyway. I also like that the vast majority of endgame activities are weeklies rather than dailies so you can do whatever you feel like on any given day rather than burning out on doing the same thing every day.

Smilegate is taking over Lost Ark from Amazon, but I don't think it will change much. The vast majority of problems people have with Lost Ark are things Smilegate cooked up, not Amazon; I really don't see it ever recovering in the West unless they make drastic changes.

ShinsoXDD: I have 10k hours on lost ark and i just stopped it for aion 2 its true they are similar but in term of progression aion 2 solve the biggest issue in lost ark that what will make it almost impossible to be gatekeept

robin2thek: Stoped playing lost ark they released the solo raids too late. The regular raids was too hard and sweaty.

OnyXerxes: I LOVED Lost Ark's combat, and it looks way better than Aion 2 in that aspect, unfortunately almost everything else about Lost Ark is awful. That's why I kinda switched to PoE2 because the combat feels about as good and has none of the mmo bullshit for the most part.

countyingula: They're both korean games so neither. Also weird to compare imo since ones isometric top down and the other looks like garbage wasd movement where the mouse is worthless and controls the camera. Didn't they remove the pvp in lost ark?

Any game with time gates is garbage.
