serveitsam: I hope they relaunch the game in the west, and really take timd to evaluate the differences between KR and west, and implement appropriate changes to allow the game to grow and stay healthy. Its a pipedream, and highly unlikely, but a guy can only hope.

I only started playing in late 2024, and damn some of my best gaming experiences were sweating it out in these tough raid progs, like that EX Brel clear! It just sucks that LOA has an intricate combat system but it is dragged down by never ending, needlessly expensive shitty vertical systems.

Thanks again for joining me and my friends for EX Brel, those few hours we played reminded me of what keeps me around in LOA.

ShuffleAssi: Actually, I am 100% sure the game is headed into the right direction. The current state of the game is actually not as bad as you say, its actually in a good state. The problem is zero communication from dead AGS and updates coming in later as people want. This is one of the reasons currently more veterans quit the game in comparison to new or returning players getting (back) into it. Usually it was the other way round, newer people quitting really fast after trying to get into it and veterans staying as they can enjoy all the content.

It is the first time in the 5 1/2 years of Lost Ark in the West that you see more Veterans quit and new/returning players staying.

Veterans want fresh wind and more variety of content - doing the same raids over half a year is boring at some point and is only a "lets do more dps than last week" or "lets have better uptime than last week" stuff. We already know that LOA On Winter will bring this - we just don't know yet at what extend.

The message from Smilegate has been pretty clear: more p2w elements, higher ceiling of p2w, more frustrating rng systems with toxic levels of disparity between winning and losing (i.e. pity vs. average scenario), more stupid dark patterns and gimmicky casino-tactics, less inspiring raid designs, terrible and slow balance patches, lack of important qol features, decline in overall quality in terms of production (they are clearly using a lot of AI now which I maybe wouldn't mind if it wasn't so obvious and shoddy but I digress), and quality of presentation both for existing players (predictable and boring LoA ONs) and new players as well (horrible on-boarding).

Lost Ark has always had issues but instead of handling them with a systematic approach, they just keep piling them on, just like they pile on their game systems which end up making a bloated, confusing, convoluted mess, much like the whole ark grid system itself. They should have done a complete hard reset with tier 4 and they didn't, and their only excuse is greed and satisfying their most greedy customers that don't actually care about the health of the game, only their own personal benefit. These player "investors" (whales) that spend fortunes, whether because they have the means or not, I would never call responsible, just like I would never label Smilegate a responsible company for their manipulative and abusive practices.

Sadly, it seems my time to move on from Lost Ark may have come now too. As an enjoyer of game's world and lore, I can't help but feel disappointed in the direction of the narrative and the lost sense of exploration and discovery as well. I've always felt that the redeeming qualities of Lost Ark could be seen and felt in its art, gameplay, and story-telling, but even this has experienced noticeable decline.

I really want to keep some semblance of hope but I recognize this pattern all too well. It's real shame how much potential was squandered with Lost Ark, but I'll always cherish the memories and the friends I made and the experience I had; and I hope nothing but the same for others who were touched by this game and always believed it was something special despite all its flaws.

buckrogers-lk3yr: Here is how I used to play Lost Ark as far as enjoying their theme park roller coaster ride (Raid).

The following system works for me except no.3 as no online teacher so I don't have exam samples to practice.

1. study the raid for 2 weeks

2. remember and write cheat sheet

3. take practice sample exams with a teacher, back to 1 if not doing well

4. take the exam by queueing with random people

5. get a grade, if B or C then go back to 3, if A or A then you can do 4 again.

iraevctus: The LOA Community is the seal in the coffin, and I do not say this lightly.

Smilegate can make as many positive changes as they want to, but nothing will make me want to EVER interact with the western LOA community. Even if all the issues get fixed, i'd rather play on korea at 200 ping than deal with these clowns.

This comes from someone who played League from 2017-2022, played a ton of early 2000s slur-ridden, toxic-fest MMO's and online games.

The toxicity LOA has is a special type of toxicity, these goofies have been eating shit pretty much since the release of Hardmode Brel (The 6 gate brel) and defending it like they're getting paid fulltime bonuses.

Any type of discourse, feedback or any attempt at reaching out to the devs results in an endless amount of people just straight stalking you and mass-disliking/downvoting your posts or videos in an attempt to ''save face'' for the game.

While this helps them in the short term, long term ppl are just gonna quit and never look back.

It doesn't help that the majority of the content creators for LOA are massive larpers who will defend AGS for years and then instantly say its a massively good change once they leave, it just goes to show these people have 0 beliefs or thoughts of their own, in the case of streamers its understandable since its literally how they put food on the table, and since its video games and not irl politics that affect human lives, I couldn't care less if someone is being pretentious to make a buck off shilling a video game.

The damage that has been done to what could have been an amazing IP, or what was an amazing IP, is genuinely so bad that the original director just started his own single player game based on his IP, because internal management in smilegate gave his game over to this goofy ass new director.

-11 lvl 7 gems

-6x14p ark grid

-3 relic core selectors

-3 legendary core selectors (on 1710 you can have 6x14p with ark pass and loaon gift astrogems its 17p on one order core so it really bumps your CP for group content for free)

-300k gold

-a lot of mats, you getting enough oreha to go from 1700>1720

players land at 1700 so they have real chance to experience endgame raids 1700 armoche > 1710 kazeros , serca matchmake and then group content. downside is that it doesnt give players dark 30 set unfortunetly.

getting from 1710>1720 will be easiest as ever so progressing to 1730 will be easiest as ever

if player have already returned to the game and and have 1700-1710 they use base camp on this character, on alt they can use jump boost so insta 1700 and then new class event on warpweaver so another 1700ilvl.

for player that want to play multiple characters its perfect, like you have 2x 1700 for free without any honing or spending gold.

bad thing right now is that communication is pretty bad delayed patches, you can see people literally begging for balance patch and asking AGS when it releases, they waiting for 2 months now, also they are waiting for new class.

more variety content is ofcourse needed, this new mode that KR got today is quite nice design, you can enter ifinitely so no weekly lockout, no wipes and you can rewards for clearing to help speed your progression its divided for 1730 and 1770 ilvl, 6 bosses one every week, first clear reward is 10k gold so 60k gold after clearing this bosses T4.1 mats box.

lost ark need hard content, frontier destroyed most veterans fun that wanted tough difficulty, good that we will get extreme mordum extreme tfm kazeros., mordum will be harder than brel i think, and kazeros will be hardest of them all.

but i think communication is first priority, discussion with players, roadmaps for content like belgardin release( we dont know the date yet) in an mmorpg people like to feel connected with playerbase and publisher/developer.

leo05061991: Very nice video man again, you are on point with everything and you know how it will be in future. Now do yourself a favor and while you are waiting GW3, quit this god forgotten game and try Aion2 on global release. I guarantee you you will have a lot more fun then playing a dead game and grind over and over last 3 raids and this few nightmare modes they put in the game.

tathianxgames: i think the biggest take away is the global audience can now complain directly to smile gate and not a 3rd party.

People complain about AGS all the time but 80% of the content comes from smile gate directly and we translate it. If all the complaints finally go to the same place MAYBE something can happen. It would still be slow for sure, but chance for change, no matter how small is still better than stagnation.

I dont think it will get much better, but I still enjoy the game. I do enjoy that serca is "matching mode" it allows me to come back slowely at my pace from my 4 month break. I'll have to learn this new abyss dungeon, but at least i dont have to jump into 2 learning runs the week i came back.

But i will say the ark grid is absolute cancer. I still have to look at guides to even understand half of it, and reference what i need for each class I play. Thank god its only 3 now, i reduced my roster to 1 main, 1 alt and 4 alts of the same class to make raids easier.

navihey: Players p2w just so they could skip mech rather than playing the game as intended, finish homework faster and get through raid simulator easier. Real fun
