WoW Player Hates Guild Wars 2 After Five Hours

destroyallpermanent: He'll never get rid of that WoW brain, he wen't too deep. Poor guy.

qwby: -b hopping everywhere

-squirrel brains all game systems

-skips dialogue

-zero patience and precognition

-shows Black Citadel which is littered with waypoints

-is obsessed with cons instead of pros

quits game, very surprising

Earthz1412: 19:10 when he was afk, he actually standing in a world boss spawn Svanir Shaman, and people did it while he was Afking. that's why he accidentally lvl up 2 level. He missed the world boss right under his feet

American_Trucker85: This is literally a case of a WoW addict that can’t play other games bc WoW owns him. The reason I know is bc I was there when 2008 wrath launched and then shadowlands and the lawsuit broke my addiction super quick

sheela6047: Did you know that when gw2 first released, skills and traits were bought with skill books. The hero points and and gradual gain of skills per level up came later after a few revisions of the games content.

nexeus7302: Just because you played WoW doesn't mean you're an expert. 90% of the MMO players has/have played WoW. Obviously this guy cannot adapt and he doesn't know how to play another MMO. He has WoW mindset and this will never set him free, or ever like another MMO. A lot of MMO players have this problem and its quite common. Like if you're coming from WoW and you expect GW2 to behave like WoW ain't gonna happen, or vice versa, or FFXIV to be GW2 etc, you get the idea.

Ppl who does that will always feel miserable in another MMO. I've played and still play GW2, FFXIV, LOTRO, SWTOR, ESO, NW Online, WOW private servers to name several. Each 6 months or so will swap to another MMO and enjoy it for a good 4-5 months until I get burn out and swap to another. I never get bored because all these MMO's mentioned from above have updates and each time when you get back feels like a new game.

sutcenes: 26:00 "The game is too simple" --> Do not dare to approach the boss, or you will die. Ah ah ah!

fusionstorm8201: I think that he failed to realize that events are sequential and can be completed by others without you being there.

Esc-rk5sq: man oh man this brings me back to the day when the lazy peon played with wow brain rot and tap dat mouse called him out for it YEARS ago so this is just a repeat of history XD

GeTakeo: People still complain about GW2 having loading screens and instanced zones. Please tell me what other mmo can have as many people in an event at the same as GW2. It's not lack of skill, its intended. Also "the story sucks". He played till level 28, that means he had 2 story instances. It's like reading a book and stopping after 2 pages.

thaosarkannon14: I agree with pretty much everything Ivan said tbh. Guild Wars 2 is almost everything I despise in modern MMOs.

Obnoxious level of hand-holding; pop-ups everywhere like a mobile slop game; devs creating problems so they can sell the solution in the cash-shop; checklist open-world design.

Obi-WanJabr0ni: WoW players usually quit when they realize there's no macros. "Wait, I actually have to play the game myself? I'm out"

jasonb2916: This guy basically does what everyone does that comes from wow... even i did it. Since you don't understand the game, you look for all the reasons to not like or continue to play the game. Its not until you decide to actually get to end game and just enjoy the game for what it is that youbstart to enjoy the game.

Vixeneque: First issue, it looks like he may have boosted his character. So yeah early game is very easy and a different experience when you do that. Second, you can not approach gw2 like wow. Yeah they live in the same barn, but they are different animals entirely. Second issue, there is zero way a new player can grasp enough of this game in 6 hours to really get it. Not his fault, it is just how the game is sadly. Third issue, it seems to me like he came in with preconceived notions of what he thought gw2 would be instead of accepting what it is. Base game is 13 years old. It is old content. You have to get to lvl 80 naturally and beat the core game to get to the really good stuff that comes afterwards. The core game is free for a reason. I totally get it is not for everyone, but he genuinely seemed to not get how things worked in the game, which caused allot of his issues. That actually has been an issue with gw2 for a long time, there is a big learning curve for new players with it.

blonkov: 6 hours? It is a joke Fun (game) start at max lvl.

dellenrules: Path of Fire has a library filled with books as well that sucks you into the lore. You will enjoy that library.

gio87vr: 30:06 Until you haven't tried elementalist Weaver you haven't seen anything of difficult elite spec.

Lewdynamic: His points make sense I don't think he's unreasonable. Fair enough.

3DBen69: wow classic was fun from the first minute ngl

Kalgima: I think his main issue is that he was trying to rush levelling to end game without enjoying the environment and exploring. There seems to be an underlying expectation, in his tone and comments, for the game to provide him with a specific and familiar play style. Unfortunately he didn't find it in GW2 and it may be a good thing for the community because, if he didn't stop early with that inflexible attitude, we would have gotten a toxic player in the game. I wish he finds a game that matches his expectations but GW2 is definitely not it.

20SidesOfZeke: 8:23 "The great hunt" is literally the coming-of-age ceremony for young norn. you are hyped up as a hero/champion by your drunk uncle, but have only just taken your first step outside your home to becoming an adventurer

rptherus: I tried ge2 when it first came out and lost interest fast in it when I found out your skills were weapon based. Don't know if that ever changed but I agree with him stopping when he realized he didn't like it

TieflingUnshackled: This is funny because when he says "6 hours is enough" if someone did that with WoW he would be the guy that comes in and says "The endgame is so good you have to try that!" which is where the 100 hours came from was 100 hours let you try all the types of content that give you a decent idea of endgame structure.

bosunbones.8815: Yeah. I can see GW2 not appealing to some folks. Some times its the vertical progression, or the open world, quests etc.

Let's see what his issues were.

AB-pj7mc: Yea but keeping open world that easy and accessible means it's available for everyone not just hardcore ultraraiders with a screen bloated with addons. In a WoW i log in and work, literally work without payment a daily and weekly list that's longer than my shopping list of groceries from the last few years. In GW2 i can log in, have fun and relax. It's simply a far different open world concept.

If ya want to get real for that is raids and fractals.

zedorian6547: 6 hours is more than enough time to decide if you want to continue playing. If the game isnt for you then it isnt for you. Mind you I do think you should play long enough to learn how to play the game but 6 hours is certainly long enough to know whether or not you plan to log in again.

celiovicenteribeirofilho9740: Honestly, GW2 has better mechanics, better gameplay, and devs who aren't toxic, trolls, or incompetent; they genuinely want to do their best to please their customers—unlike Blizzard's team, who just crap all over everything and charge a premium to tarnish a legacy. That flight mechanic players spent years begging Blizzard for? It was already in GW2, whereas Blizzard's devs were always opposed to flight, constantly trying to undermine or remove it. The only things keeping me away from GW2 are the lack of factions to champion, the game's lore, and the aesthetics and lore of the races—none of which really appeal to me. And that’s not a knock against the game. People love Mario Bros. and Sonic, but I find nothing appealing about those games; they just aren't for me. The same applies to GW2: it remains a great MMO, but it just didn't have the lore or aesthetic to make me fall in love with it.
