MoGaiinz: GW2 will die. People already think the game is dead lol. Imagine the newer shinier version of the game coming out. It’s all but dead. By dead I mean there will barely be a strong active player base once GW3 releases. They’re not going to pull a new world, but I promise you the majority of players will quit GW2.

Amasoful: They'll announce GW3 and Mistbound will be next expansion that will contain hall of monuments and they will support GW2 with further expansions they'll not let it die, it makes no sense, they brought GW1 from the dead with reforged only to kill the already thriving game and main source of income for the studio? worst case scenario the content pace for GW2 will slow for a bit while they ramp up development of GW3 to get it out the door, then they'll return to a balanced cadence, think like 1.5 years expansions for GW2 where they drop 3 major content one on release with 2 maps, one after 6 months with 3rd map and another after 12 months with 4th map with 3 smaller patches in between that will serve as seasons for the wizards vault at 3/9/15 months and this cadence will go in tandem to compliment the release schedule of GW3 and even GWR, this is my expectation/prediction anyway.

Panolo2722: 3:08 GW2 already has less people, that's why they switched to mini expansion, it's obvious that they have been working with a reduced team size for a while.

I doubt a GW3 would interrupt the current release schedule...

motoqueirodumafiga: Well, theres a problem you might have forgotten: there are only a specific amount of players. If GW3 pops up, a good chunk of players will leave GW2 to play the newer version, and the maps of GW2 will be emptyer even more.

alexg.1430: unreal engine 5 sounds extremely bad from the point of optimization and FPS on MMO where can be up to 50 people on the same map, especially open world, I have very low expectations for optimization since you mentioned it, like really really low, that engine is known to be consume too much horse power.

itszo4168: I am all for GW3 if its a thing. Arena net is making the right move in my opinion if they do. We NEED an updated engine, to appeal to a younger player base, bring a real fresh game to the MMO genre that is made by a solid, tested team and company. People are all doom and gloom about it but I think they want Arena net to get left in the past. I put in 14 years in GW2 and wouldn't have an issue with it and will 100% still play GW2 here and there. If this does happen and is a huge success it could bring many new players for years to come along with us veteran players. LFG ANET!

If its not a thing.. so be it. I'll enjoy GW2 till its really dead with us old farts who still play.

joeblackisback1: If Guild Wars 3 is announced tonight, Guild Wars 2 won’t die. But it will hardly attract any new players, because it will become unappealing to them.

Likewise, players will think twice about spending money on a game that will soon have a sequel.

So, for purely economic reasons, I can’t imagine they’ll be unveiling Guild Wars 3 tonight.

Maybe it’ll be a Guild Wars 2.5, with the entire game ported to a new technical platform.

But I don’t know either... we’ll see

Yo jugué guild wars1 y recuerdo q las ciudades en los servidores en español estaba lleno ahora están vacíos, solo funciona el de América y fue por qué muchos se pasaron a guild wars2 y algunos que quisieron volver al 1 se aburrieron por q no había tanta gente y se fueron a otros juegos, los que están manteniendo viva la franquicia son los angloparlantes con guild wars 3 va a fragmentar más la comunidad

misterhorse8327: I do like the expansions, coming from a returning player of last year. Having that backlog to play with has been great, and I have a lot of content to explore.

stratiss2328: I can envision them going the WoW route, multiple games that attract different audiences, but ultimately under the same IP. Especially with the push to bring GW1 back to relevancy.

Avenrise: ANET need to make sure that every step of the GW3 release schedule has a little info about what's happening with GW2. Make sure the player base and those outside of it know that GW2 is still going to be supported and will factor in (via HoM) to the new game and it'll never die.

_Travey: Considering the player count and that the game already feels dead compared to other MMOs …. I’m guessing even less people will play, less updates, etc. they should put everything into gw3.
