Shopping Cartsamuraichicken2315: Some reasons why I switched over from ESO to GW2:
- Class Identity and unique playstyles
- Devs that play the game and (mostly) listen to the players
- Value for money
- Utterly amazing overland.
- The mounts!
I could go on this list forever, but the only areas where ESO really competes are the dungeons and Cyrodiil (back when it was good).
eb9782: I am also an ESO refugee for the past two years, I tried GW2 a few times over the years and it never clicked. It finally clicked this year. What an incredible game. Respects your time, you can come and go freely, you never feel pressure to do anything. The game itself is so far superior to other MMOs in every single way that matters to me, I don't even know where to start, so I won't. Game design NEVER punishes you for seeing other players. I have literally seen one and only one person being an ass in zone chat, once, in the 5-6 months I've been playing actively. It's awesome.
SonySteals: Because it’s free. It’s either this or eso. That’s what casual friends play.
nd6886: Why do so many people not play GW2?
Jef_Vermassen: GW2 never sticks with me, bought it back in the day. It does a lot of things well... but I always leave after a couple weeks.
The one thing I usually asked for in other games: the FOOKIN jump puzzles, they infuriate me and at the same time I enjoyed doing them.
I don't think its a bad game, does a lot of things well... just doesn't tickle my brain really.
That being said, yeah I wan to see you play it more. Love your videos want to see if the game clicks for you in a longer play-through.
Sev-j3: Because they don't reach max level and drop game after 10-20h
intothewildtrail: Biggest reasons for me are:
- I can play the game for a few weeks pretty actively anytime new content releases or there is a seasonal event going on, drop the game for months, come back and I don't feel like I am behind on progress.
- I like the combat style. Before the game added proper support for the mouse aim stuff some years ago, I used to play a similar control scheme with a controller. It just works really well.
Also it's the only MMO where I don't feel like levelling a new character is a chore. Across multiple accounts I have probably leveled more characters to cap than in all other MMOs combined.
Recklessrifle: I loved playing it whlie I did, I cleared the map and collected a bunch of locations, made it to level cap, and never really had the desire to keep going, it didn't really grab my attention tbh.
Jannah_2k: One of us, one of us! ^^ See, i told you will get it finally.. and the more one spends in the game, the more starts to value so many things GW2 does right, to a point often starts to think it as the standard that others must compete against. Of course i do test all new mmo games always for fun, but GW2 feels like home and chill place to "just play the game". Also, yes please do a proper 100 hours plus video about it. Have fun holidays times my favorite vtuber doggo!
devilous90: "Why did arenanet pay me to advertise their dying MMO?"
GamingHigh: I just dont like the Combat and ability system, so i dont really can play it for a long time. GW1 is so much more better combat & abillity wise
CtrlAndF4: Shame they recycle the events and use the same ones over and over again
katc7669: 13 year veteran player here. Welcome and glad you're enjoying GW2! If you enjoy the newest expansion, would very highly recommend getting Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire. Those expansions were really game changing. Again, welcome to Tyria!
D3Rabenstein: The choir bell event is not that intuitive, you have to press the button after the ball crosses the line. Listening to the rhythm helped and sticking to one part only (middle, high or low).
Also: one of us, one of us !
dryziger: you can literally take a break for years and come back like it was yesterday. Also any mmo-content preference there is , got valid content to enjoy.
neugassh3570: GW 2 is the most loved least played mmorpg.
ElusiveClit: cant wait for gw3. these 30k achievement people are getting me down :) ;)
RozeMMO: well that title looks familliar...
informadiga691: i tried it today but there were a few things i disliked.
i had some performance issues even tho i have pretty good hardware
the first bigger city i've seen looked really shit and didn't feel really immersive due to many instanced areas
even after the first 10 quests it felt repetetive
Envy188: i hope that one day they put up fresh progresive servers, same as wow did
screwthenet: guild wars has been around for a long time, and even tho the sequel is only 13 years old, I just never had any interest in playing it. I dont like the look or vibe of it at all, but if other people like it, its all good. Everyones got their fav mmos/ rpgs out there, nostalgic or otherwise. Its just not my jam and likely never will be.
Ruthos01: I like just about everything in GW2 but for some reason, it doesn’t hook me in. I can’t play it for more than a week at a time. Not sure what it is, it’s a great game
lewanjosephnimick9359: Could never bring myself to finish the final personal story mission. The game just never hooked me and felt so bland. Nothing clicked with me like other games
OryxAU: Guild Wars 2 is fantastic, but the quality has objectively fallen over time. It used to be that it had something to prove to the industry, but with a bunch of weird things happening behind the scenes with the publisher and the former president leaving, the vision just hasn't been there imo. I'm glad people are getting into it, but man the peaks of this game really set the bar in MMO quality in a way we might not ever see again.
Oh yeah and I met my wife there, ignore the previous ramble, 15/10 game.
MasumiWolf: Me funny hot furry people. two. the shortstack people. three. its a good game
sockets1984: Happy to see you getting the sponsorship mate! You make great videos that deserve a nice payday! Keep up the great work, we appreciate you.
