Shopping Cartcaptaincrapface7337: 00:34 My entire channel, and my entire online presence is 90% just yapping about what's wrong with warrior, If you have questions, I have answers.
nunocustodio: Bladesworn isn't the only elephant in the room, we also have Spelbreaker. The only specialization who can't give boons/heal should at least be the highest DPS class right ? Wrong, quick zerk benches almost as much as SPB. Utilities are also another problem, almost all other classes can change their utilities and still do 90% or more of their damage, try doing that on Warrior and see your bench tank.
adventuringacrossamerica3552: Feel like anything that is good with warrior it gets nerfed
zyxwvutsrqponmlkjihgfedcba0: The devs don't really know how to make a warrior. Yet all of his kit is all over the other characters. It makes no sense. And bullet catch still makes no sense when guard, rev and ranger keep all their channeled blocks. I don't get it.
Szezark: As a warrior main i think they should rework the talents, so you aren’t reliant on talent/weapon combos. Oh you want to use defense traits? Hammer is the only option. You want discipline. Axes. It feels so restrictive on a class that boasts weapon variety. Also, new weapons arent represented. Like spear only has talents for underwater. I want to make an axe warrior with defense and strength traits, that would be hella dope
zephyruspring: I think warrior does have identity. It’s martial, it’s loud, and a pure builder-spender design. The problems with the class are that the aftercasts are too pronounced and there’s too much role pigeonholing. In a word, it’s clunky.
The greatsword and sword feel pretty good to use these days. Why? Because they shortened the aftercasts. Bladesworn feels terrible because it’s the aftercast king on top of all the forced movement and immobility.
Condi builds need more flavour. Warriors used to have decent access to the confusion condition but it’s been completely stripped out over the years. It’d be nice to see it make a return for mace spellbreaker or something to be distinct from the raging fiery berserker.
Also the low play rate is because the boondps and support mechanisms are even more clunk added on top.
rulotron: They fucked up Warrior out of every game mode. I still can't comprehend what they did to staff, or what they did to SB...
lilbladeknight: Remember when retaliation was a boon and only guardian and warrior had it? It was nice.
Sonofhud: I honestly wish the changes to banners would get reverted.
There needs to be some team utility outside of Paragon.
Maybe stance sharing similar Soulbeast and buff shouts to better help nearby players.
bromgar1902: I just hate to choose between absolutely noo boons or no dmg. Sure you have quick on zerker but he has only quickness and fury. Same for alac paragon because as soon as u use utility skills instead of sigils your damage drops so hard.
galaxybrainjimmy1520: Solution is that they should rename "warrior" to "caveman", best weapons for it are blunt weapons and spear this will 100% clear up the confusion and frustration about the class
SmugKot: Maybe because is eating nerf no stop? just like thief? have you seen how many thiefs and warriors are around in pve and pvp?
AOffensiveJoke: Warrior weapons are it's main problems. Staff wasn't a main stay due to bullet catcher it was due to it having tons of movement, boons and chase potential. Almost everything in warrior that gives boons is related to traitlines which then made those traitlines mandatory. Paragon at least could self buff but it wasn't a super interesting spec.
Bladesworn will remain the most love it or hate it class ever in pve and borderline unplayable in PvP due to how reliant on boons it is in PvP.
This class barely has any condi weapons with its biggest source of condi coming from relic of akeem over weapons which is just terrible design.
At least revenant with all of its jank is reliable in what it's designed for and specs, whenever warrior is brought up in balance changes I have no idea what the design plan for the class is.
Horrormane: I played Bladesworn for a long time, and it’s a lot of fun. It really feels like a true samurai class, with the charged katana attacks and some ranged options that comes out of your blade. That said, it’s not very flexible and struggles to perform well in certain fights. It's the flavor that had me play it for so long.
Recently, I switched to a sword/torch bow condition Berserker, and I’m enjoying it much more. I’ve tried to like Ranger for a while but never really could. This build actually feels like what Ranger should be. You conjure the power of volcanoes and even summon rocks from the ground for defense and to attack enemies. The bow is a lot of fun with it, has more of an oomph than the ranger's more floaty attacks.
Strangely enough, my rifle power Amalgam feels more like a Warrior to me. You deal damage from range, and when enemies get close, you have the ooze’s shield for protection, along with its giant sword and spinning hammer attacks. Then there’s the elite skill, which creates a spinning field of blades around you. Honestly, this could have been a Warrior specialization and call it “Weapon Master” or something. The F skills could summon different weapons instead of ooze abilities, and the elite could be the Warrior conjuring a storm of magical blades.
Guild Wars 2 is kind of odd in that way. Sometimes, if you want to enjoy a class fantasy, you end up playing a completely different class that does it better.
desel8737: warrior needs devs who like the warrior
FlaxiEverafter: It seems like the balance team has never actually played warrior. The things they've done to my favourite class makes me wanna headbutt a wall. When they removed Bulletcatcher from staff 5, I deleted all my support builds.
Koden: I'd love to see your take on the Elementalist.
azzy9358: Condition issue was actually mentioned yesterday on GW 2 discord. I think warrior could use one of few things, if not a combination. It needs to be able to have 3 weapon sets. It is a weapon master, having extra weapon set makes it unique. Also, the weapons are a bit odd. Axes have no bleeding? That is an oversight, clearly. :D Mace needs slow condition. Also, warrior needs better elite skills. It is either banner or rampage for WvW. I like the signet, but it feels like a normal signet from other classes.
3 weapon sets might be impossible to implement, but, what could be possible is to have each weapon having two specs. Think of axes being power now, they would be condition as well, depending on what you pick. Hammer is cc? Give it a second version of a ranged mage class, 1200. Spear is one handed now for warrior and close range, make that spartan dream possible.
I know these are probably out there and would take a lot of work, wanted to show there is a possibility to make things happen. But since it is an old game, we know it wont.
williamnathanael412: Legendary refresh pull
SinfulBadger: I usually go Warrior first in pretty much every MMO, but in this game it honestly feels like the least “warrior-like” version I’ve played. The professions kind of blur together, so it’s been hard to find something that really clicks. Engineer gives off more of that ranged, pet-focused vibe than Ranger, and other classes feel more like true hard-hitting melee brawlers than Warrior does.
fuzzyass6241: its because laranity, mukluk, and teapot hates warriors
SeuchenPflug: Warrior nowadays feels like the prototype class for Guardian and Rev where they test some ideas and fully flesh them out only on Guard and Rev. Berserker being the only somewhat consistent DPS class ever since its makes sense since it's just "more warrior but faster" and easy to balance around
NickTheInfamous: I think warriors unique identity used to be providing a ton of CC. However I think that has changed with Mesmer/Guardian (maybe even Revenant tbh) kind of taking over that role. I think other classes can dish out a lot more “burst” CC or condense a lot more CC into fewer skills (see sanctuary).
rennlc: Rev, Warrior, and Thief all kinda had 2 classes worth of elite spec ideas designed into the 3 of them.
hikaruyuugure6900: Warriors identity is low intensity IMO.
I do like that warrior has three very very low intensity builds that can easily do 30-38k dps in raids and one can keep up quickness too.
The core of these builds is fractal relic, with trapper runes and viper gear. Dual swords. sigil of torment and sigil of earth.
Paragon - All signet with defiant stance and see the snowcrow becnhmark. You spam the burst with swords 3 and 4.
Berserk - with signet of fury and might with blood reck and headbut and outrage.
You just spam stuff off cooldown to keep the berserk mode perm and 500 bonus ferocity perm with two ways to get 30 adren to get back into berserk mode. Spam burst off cd and dual sword 3 and 4 off cd. Chain blood reck when avail to double burst. Can swap blood reac and heat the soul traits for more dps or group quick.
The same set of gear can do both of these.
The 3 builds, paragon, berserk w/ heat the soul and berserk w/ blood reac may take a little bit to get to the 38k mark as a good chunk of the damage is condi but they can and are really really easy to play. Being that most are never hitting that 47k berserker power benchmark with animation canceling and such these are really good builds to use.
You can also drop to 25k dps with the berserker one by swapping one trait line to get 10 sec damage immunity and some extra barrier with perm self quickness. This lets you solo stuff like the bathazar hero point challenge and stack condi really fast with double bursts via blood reck so its not as slow of a ramp up as paragon.
You can do a paragon ver with 10 sec damage imunity 5 sec from defiant stance 3 sec if you want to run shield in weapon swap but shield wont stop condi damage. So the self survival if very high.
Paragon gets 15 sec damage immunity vs berserk gets 10sec. Without 3 sec shield stopping strike damage only. That wouold be 18/13 sec.
I do these builds and am always topping dps in pugs. Only ones going higher are those animation canceling and doing the crazy 50k dps world first clears.
B4_njo: I’m a warrior main and I love it. I feel like the specs don’t change how the professions plays as much as they do on other progressions, you still do the same stuff. And also some of the animations just don’t feel as good as some of the other professions. Greatsword 2 being locked in place should have movement like guardian sword 3. The revive on banner has a long cast time unlike other revives such as scrapper gyro. And with all the teleports and mobility I think just speeding up some of the animation like greatsword 3 and 5 would help out. I’m still new to the game so appreciate I may be wrong.
Tsagheer: With GW2 constantly moving forward and eliminating the issues players face in other MMORPGs, the gameplay architects need to give each specialization a distinct sense of identity.
In my opinion, each spec needs to be limited in weapon options, boon generation, and condition application.
This will let each spec have its own strengths, and that's where playstyle and personal preferences come in.
I wish all the best for GW2 to get the game back on a proper track that can keep it going for more decades without the criticism and disruption that WoW has suffered.
