jeremysmith7176: Correction. Apostate is not a name given for Abadons predicesor. A margonite called Apostate speculates Abbadon is not eternal. Apostate is term used within Christianity to mean someone who was a Christian but has rejected Christ. In this case we have someone who followed Abadon before rejecting him.
"Thank you for protecting me. And for your help, I shall now fulfill my end of the bargain.
You may have wondered why I was being chased so vehemently by Abaddon's hunters, and I believe it is as simple as this: I do not believe Abaddon to be an eternal god. There were other gods before him, before he was imprisoned here. And I believe that while the power he uses cannot be destroyed, he may be supplanted, as he supplanted his predecessor.
Use this knowledge for your benefit."
jeremysmith7176: "Kormir accomplished"
methanbreather: correction: Kormir did nothing. The heroes put down Abbadon and Kormir swept in and pretty much stole the god powers.
ac0tactics: Well its similar to the shinto belief system in which god isnt a being its a title given to somone who sits at a font of power and commands it.
Guild wars also has gods of faith in which the belief from followers powers up an individual or creates an apperition like the grawl quest line where they summon a fake balazar from their belief.
Geordina: The six are tiny anomalies in the great alchemy. The spirits of the wild hold more power then them. ;)
ReapTheWhirlwind: The original 6 came from another world seeking power through the Mists and I think that, in and of itself, is significant. If you're a real god you wouldn't fear death or look for power elsewhere. We know that they don't grant the magic that the races of Tyria use aside from specific blessings that literally anyone can access.
NDfeerer10: No, I don’t think they can. I think of gods as originators, beings present at creation, which these ascended folk are not.
