FYI I doubt Anet would drop GW2 completely like with GW1, maybe lower the effort they put into GW2 but not abandon it.

Also, it's something that needs to happen sooner or later, GW2 just isn't fixable and it's not smart to only rely on one game that isn't overly profitable.

What influence did the elder dragons have in preventing interdimensional forces like the kryptis and titans from attacking? What‘s happening with the stability of the world and what‘s happening in the mists?

We had some lore bits about a threat in the unending ocean, we still want to get to the tengu and an expedition into old kaineng could also be kinda interesting.

I could imagine gw3 to be more similar to warframe, kinda futuristic, where aurene has stabilized tyria and we‘re now her champions bringing stability to other dimensions.

willdeit6057: I think they did the right thing by show casing the Free to Play video as they need new players to come on board for GW2, those new players wont be hardened GW2 players who will have all ready spent their money on the expansions whereas the new players might be tempted to spend even more cash on expansions if they enjoy the game.

tyburkulosis8799: If they started working on gw3 back when EoD came out then it's probably going to be another 3-5 years until it's done. And keep in mind, Arenanet is incredibly ambitious with their games. They will add on to whatever this third installment of the guild wars franchise is until it's almost feature crept. They will take their time and we should let them. I don't see why they would completely change their content release model for gw2 and now adding major features, like player housing, for only three expansions. My guess is we'll get at least 5 expansions out of this. IF they show anything about a gw3 in the near future it'll be a teaser, and they'd be a fool to not premiere that teaser at one of the major gaming events.

nexeus7302: This whole video is pointless. The recent expansion, and the other before were soulless. The team working now have no clue how to make expansions like HoT or PoF. The ppl that created both masterpieces HoT and PoF left the company long ago (very talented ppl). Current management in Anet is well aware that GW2 isn't gonna last long, and the game is getting old hence why they intentionally let rumours about GW3 which will happen at some point. Can't understand some GW2 players. No game last forever, and GW2 isn't an exception. You cannot retain players with it's current engine, or team that does next to nothing when it comes to work.

The majority of players are unhappy with the current expansion. You can pat yourself on the shoulder as much as you want and live in a delusion how great GW2 is... but truth is the game is getting old so is the engine, so is the coding which definitely prevents developers to be more creative and this is where GW3 comes. Sure, ain't gonna happen in the next 5 years, but it will happen. You will be a fool to think that GW2 will last forever. It may last like GW1, but no way you can retain the player base that Anet investors want. In end of the day... money is what makes investors happy and if you think GW2 will succeed with the current team behind with lousy and uninspired work, and soulless expansions... some ppl are for a rude awakening.

neutralentr0py: Yeah don’t know where the cope is coming from. So they have gw3 ready in the chamber right now just because their latest expac sucked? Then what they were sitting on Reddit and hear the community didn’t like it and either had an expac rollout plan ready to go or thought let’s drop the news on gw3. Nah. They dropped the ball on the end of the expac just like the last one and IBS. The end. There will be expacs and somewhere way down the line they’ll announce the new game when they’re ready.

FrycoN: GW2 makes milions every year in profit. Why would they wonna spend milions on GW3? They should rather release a remaster better optimized so that the computer can finally use more than one core and the game would always runs smoothly.

John4Miner: Man, that take is pretty off. Dropping a new expansion and a new game at the same event would be Anet shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to GW2’s expansion.

I’m almost sure the plan was to reveal the new expansion, but they probably realized it still needs polish—and hyping it now would just create a crazy “all or nothing” expectation.

Honestly, I think they’re avoiding too much hype because GW2 doesn’t have much room to grow without turning into ESO (a mess of mechanics) or WoW (tons of empty maps).

My only copium is hoping the next expansion focuses on what already works—PvP, Dungeons, Raids. That PvP mode stuck in eternal beta feels like a sign they’ll eventually stop reinventing the wheel and just refine what works.

Best case? We finally get Guild Wars in Guild Wars 2.

Release a complete new Game and call it gw3 would be .... Not good in any case. GW2 would be dead in days after it Release and u would straight Ship years of Content straight to garbage by doing so.
