This Guy Quit Every MMO For Guild Wars 2

invidia9222: Must disagree with you on GW2 UI - when I saw the fustercluck of windows and menus with their small ugly fonts in FFXIV I peaced out

grumpysanta6318: What's wrong with the UI? It's simple and straight-forward (once you know your way around). I'm not hugely familiar with other UIs, but this one serves me just fine... I'm usually playing the game anyhow and not too focused on the UI. Also, GW2 doesn't have "class identity", it has "build identity". My ranger, for example, is a Galeclaw currently, which is DPS. Mine's built as QDPS. I could switch to Druid and go healer if I wanted.

bigspoogy1: You can kill the man, but not the idea. KA-BRAHAM

giltdavig2589: I like braham later in the story, he felt almost like some kid I watched grow up through his rebellious teenage years and was proud of him in the end

GreenyNeko: "Lack of class identity" counter 1

Anyone counting? is it a meme yet?

neijan2932: I always hear you talking about class identity but the stuff you then mention sounds like DnD stereotypes to me.

When gw2 players talk about class identity, they mean that they feel different from another. You mentioned that you like facetanking and blocking stuff on guardian. That's what I link with identity.

I don't really care about an out-of-universe stereotype..

HofWasHere: GW2 has one of the most beautiful and user friendly UI - it matches perfect to the rest of the game. i dont like the modern fullscreen UI's where you jut get lost - they are trash.

Keck282: GW2 wasn't Horizontal at launch. It very much was vertical until Living World Season 2 into Heart of Thorns, and it has stayed that way since

thenewfoundation9822: Braham has a very interesting story arc. He's cringy and you may hate him, but you're supposed to hate him. That's how he's written, that's what he's there for. Complaining about Braham is like complaining the villain in some story is a bad guy. Don't forget, when you first meet Braham he's hardly older than a teenager.

LegionMTG: Agree with everything but the UI argument. For me and many others its literally the smoothest most normal looking UI there is. It just fits with the style of the game. And im not a gw2 andy, i actually quit the game cause they refused to allow us to have 2v2 and 3v3 ranked arenas, even after they fully developed and released them already. They just took them away, and only let us play them maybe once every half a year. But still, dont get the UI hate at all.

QueryState: I don't play GW2 anymore, but I enjoy watching your videos. It's great seeing a WoW veteran fall in love with the game while still being honest about its flaws — no sugarcoating, just real opinions. Solid channel, hope you will grow!

Menoitios: I always come back to GW2 because of the beauty of horizontal progression. I got tired of the weekly requirements to keep playing WoW (I did CE raiding for several expansions straight). I hated not being able to take a break without falling hopelessly far behind and needing to find a new guild (amongst other things). I can just play solo in GW2 and still do most of the content in the game, unlike WoW. It allows me to play when I want rather than when the devs want me to.

lilbladeknight: Gw2 starting zones used to have Champions(gold) and they nerfed them down to veterans(bronze) or elites(silver) tier due to the champion train farming. It was hard content when you just started and didnt know what it was and you have to ask for help.

What if they kept that system today? would people would have stayed due to difficulties?

Braham fashion is cool, I got his fashion.

Canach is the best in the game imo

TheCyaf974: I left GW2 after playing at release because my computer broke and I bought a Playstation after that so no more PC MMO for me since then but when I'll go back to PC I'll sure give this gem another shot

DuxJr-f5p: Brother , you're in for a long journey with Braham...

randomcarguy3020: I originally bought Guild Wars 2 on CD when it first launched. I played it with friends for about a week, reached around level 40, then stopped playing and did not touch it again for 13 years. I recently came back and have been playing every day since, and I already have about 50 hours logged.

The community has been fantastic, the story is easy to follow as a returning player, and the combat feels smooth and engaging. I also tried WoW for a week and even paid for the Blizzard subscription. I reached max level but realized nobody really talks, so it felt more like a single player game. On top of that, the story made almost no sense for a new player jumping in.

I ended up quitting WoW, and now Guild Wars 2 is officially my main game.

fatmanpez: I like the UI for the most part, the Mail system I really wish would get updated like if they made Player Mail longer but limited Mail item storage to avoid the reason why they limited it the first time but the Bag layout for me is 10x better than other Mmos that use the classic WoW/EQ style, layered crafting menu I like, the Build window I like but I understand players who haven't been there since the beginning of the Ice Age can be confused, overall it works for me.

4b0d3: I didn't like the story missions.. they felt like a chore to get one toon through.. they felt too long.. Depending on the class you were playing.. some times it was painful to get through some fights in a timely manner. The dungeons should have been required more. Similar to how ff14 did it. They definitely to make it worth it to do dungeons in gw2.

Alexrex77: Guys, do you think we should tell him about Bram? ;)

Master10k2: I'll forever remember the hilarious MikeB vid on the original FF14

crepuscular: i can hear laranity grabbing her pitchfork

blackshinkuu5235: One of the main reasons I fell in love with Gw2 was because of the story. Once you progress through it you will appreciate it so much. The bosses that come later in the story is insanely good.

Opus_Fluke: I always do Story then Map before pressing on. Map completion helps me focus. Of course now my main has 501 unspent Hero Points with everything unlocked because getting HPs is part of map completion and I've 100% on every map from all the releases.

Another thing they need to fix (among many): Shing Jea Monastery.

It isn't until "End of Dragons" that you have a location with Trainers who teach you: Evading Attacks, Combo Fields, Crowd Control and Jumping Puzzles. They need to put a Shing Jea Monastery style location in EVERY starter location so players can learn this stuff while playing. Basic stuff. Like jumping over shock waves, breaking CC Bars etc. Yet it took 3 Expansions and 5 DLC until they finally did it!

Rokoi518: I like GW2 but I always feel like I'm fighting with the controls more than the enemies in the game.

AndrejaZivkovicREY: I was getting kinda nervous when I typed my Zhaitan raid proposal last year because I came from WOW, DOTA and LOL world, where criticism isn't welcome. But to my surprise people joined in with their own critics. Although when I criticized core game experience on forum it got some mixed reactions, but still I wasn't publicly shamed for it.

dryziger: Gw2 is not the easiest mmo to get into (system wise) , but its worth it. I just wish the vanilla experience would be a bit more reworked, but that would be expensive and cost us probably the creation of new content.

RazerTNT: if u think Braham sucks now, you'll be surprised more than the zhaitan fight. The good thing is that we have a downwards reference point so that the other characters can shine.
