Even if you want the backpack, the best option is to sell your fruit now to take advantage of the moneybags that want to rush making the backpack and then buy what you need in a couple of weeks at a lower price, rather than sit on a depreciating asset during that time. They are selling for about 10g each, with an average of 3 per harvest and 25g to plant, you're basically getting your money back with a small amount of change after fees.
