The problem is conduit f2 f3 dazes with condis on top, mallyx pull in to 3 different condis bomb 1s evade and there is ranged taunt, pulsing stab, weakness spam, damage reductions, rabid and tyrant being crazy good value amulets. Literally everything but a random relic that is sometimes ran on conduit.

Im sure if akeem is so broken condi mesmer builds would be also broken they can proc it with both torment and confusion!

gw2chief: They need to remove the ability stack condis Or limit it to 5 stacks max, there is absolutely no need for any class to stack up 15 stacks of torment, bleed, burning etc with 2 buttons and then being able to reapply said condis again after 10s.

dukepuddingdale: Akeem is bad, but Conduit is also completely busted because it grants so many passive damage amps. Mesmer uses Akeem, but if you cleanse the two condi stacks that matter, they often run out of burst because they're limited by clone resources and F2 for the real burst. Rev just swaps skill bars, delays, swaps back, and does it again.

MageSkeleton: Blade and Soul has this really neat thing with their spellcaster where if your doing fire you can activate a skill that uses the combined fire charges as a "whole damage" thing so your not waiting for the DoT to resolve. And you don't have to do anything special, you would use a spell your already doing in your rotation. While this sounded good in theory, players found that this ability in fact did not allow for increased DPS and actually allowed causing less damage than if you just kept stacking the DoT.

AOffensiveJoke: It's really tough for me because I love Akeem in PvE especially in fractals as condi harb but in PvP I can see why it's fucking cancer. Relics always seem to be split on the more fun in PvE it is the more it'll be awful in PvP.

HikersRefuge: welp condi in the beginning was proper dmg over time. but power assassines crying that they cannot cleanse back then. so every1 and their mom got cleanses for days. so normal condi = useless. so they introduced torment and confusion to give condis some "bursty" moments, that if not cleansed would do a lot of damage. so damage over time became damage over a short time. and now u can overload and burst people since its the only way since some classes have tons of cleanses, all the non cleansy builds feel punished. if u dont have a condi cleanse or multiple with u then u naturally are countered. i think what any condi build should not do is having NO counter. as long it has it, the rock/paper/scissor logic should apply. also imo the way on how a build/class counters condi is so random...its not necessarily by class or build, it can be each and or both and some classes have almost no chance...oh boy...writing this and u realize how NOT finetuned GW2 can be at times. at the same time they cannot make every class do everything equally good so u can have rock paper scissors logic but then again the logic applies so uneven so that u have some insane condi burst builds that feel like cannot be countered. or the skillgap to counter is so high that most players cannot do it.

jp104: Interesting video and some really good points about condi dmg. To begin, I believe that condi damage is overtuned by a margin when compared to power damage. That said, I think the root of the problem right now is that damage as a whole is waaaaay overtuned. I think in competitive modes, damage (power and condi) needs to be tuned down by 15-20% as a start with a commensurate decrease in effectiveness of defense utilities and abilities outside of dodge. Stuff like protection/dmg reduction/etc. In WvW I was nailed by a troubador for almost 19,000 dmg by crescendo while my armor was sitting at approx. 3100. Needless to say that hit essentially downed me in one shot. When power dps can do that, is it any wonder that condi dps can kill equally as fast by loading you with 31 stacks of torment/poison/burning? ANET for the love of all that is sacred, please tone down the damage power creep!

bw1399: This has been an issue since the probably start of the game, but I mainly played PvP after hot release. Countless busted builds have made their way through the ranks ove the years, he'll I even remember when core burn guard was meta back in hot and it was cooked.

we just seem to be falling into the same trap as magic the gathering did, where each new iteration of the game needs MORE, more interaction, more tooltips more things on each button. For example the new luminary stances are absolutely filthy, to have so much packed into a instant skill on a 30-40sec cd is just gross and it's taking the game to higher and higher levels of being broken.
