Shopping CartRabidconscience: Some people will never learn this simple arithmetic:
A 10 minute run takes less time than a 6 minute run that takes an hour to start
But yeah, the group system is even more daunting when you can get kicked from a group you started.
lordfifth4520: I'm a new player. I even got kicked from a t1 fractal daily group after stating i'm new once, so i cant imagine how high end stuff for new players tbh. After that i would watch fractal guides before going in but i stopped doing them now. I'll probably go back to them eventually but idk. Some people are nice but there is definitely some toxicity as well.
moathphoenix: Well one of the reasons that kept me and my friends playing was your discord group , people are nice and understandable, i never thought i would be able to play endgame content after 10 years of pve , but after couple of months now i am addicted to raids and it was not as hard as i thought, you guys helped me a lot and now i try to get more people into endgame so thanks a lot
existingonarock: when i did qp fractals literally nobody spoke
Rabidconscience: Also yeah lol there is zero chance that guy is legit. Even the most casual of casuals can get full ascended just from the wizards vault.
gunarliepins: As someone who has full raid legy armor and trinkets and stuff I gotta agree fractal CM feels like a completely closed ecosystem. Either you have a personal group that teaches you this stuff or you're plain locked out. It's not like with raids where there's plenty communities doing training and teaching runs, it's "either you've done this 100 times or gtfo", the gap between regular T4 fractals and CMs is such a vast gulf that's really not practical to cross compared to Strikes and Raids.
Paelmoon: What is UFE?
ssalgele678: Having the same name on reddit as one of your characters is probably not the way if you want to hide logs.
KaralineRose: I played fractals when they were new a million years ago. Took a long break and when I came back they added a lot more raids and it feels very intimidating. I'm one of those people who was put off by the typical known toxicity of raid groups just from experiences in other games, I just assumed it'd be the same in gw2.
I ended up getting legendary armor in wvw instead which I enjoy more. I don't like the pressure that comes from the usual high expectations of raid groups :S
Zyhmos: I hope one day they realize, that their grand epic final boss is just an hourly farm.
Zelkova009: Here is my take on it. I am someone who went from being being slow to get to T4s to leading CMs runs. I learned all CMs myself without any "training." Those 30k UFE groups want to run the fractals a particular way. These groups are not meant for someone starting out with CMs. These type of groups should be in the minority. We have to understand you can't force your opinions on other people. If you do, most these group will go off the LFG.
I have very little time to play the game, and as a end game player I have a lot of grinds to do. So, I look for a relatively experienced group on weekdays where I can clear daily CMs/fracs in ~40 mins. No one wants to have to repeat CMs 3-4 times. That's going to add another 30 mins on the run. People put group in LFG as they do their other farm, if they can't find a group by time they finish their farm they usually lower requirements.
Here are some basic things people often don't do that would help them do CMs very easily:
- read boss mechanics; spend 15 mins; test out you understanding by doing that mechanics well
- be above average on your class; when you are doing hard content, you need to focus on mechanics. Can't focus if you are struggling to play your class
- learn different classes (even if you don't play them often, it will help you understand team comps and where to position, what to do for different roles, etc...)
- create your own group; this is how I started; don't expect to be spoon fed everything (people will be willing to help you if they see you putting in effort; i've met a lot of cool people this way)
SilhouetteGaming1: [SITTING AT 51K UFE HAVING NOT DONE FRACTALS IN 2 YEARS] >:D
If i joined a 100CM id 100% grief the team
TohnR: Been playing 10 years somewhat on and off. I'm max mastery (besides VoE), I got full ascended and some legendary pieces on multiple characters, I command fractal T4s, strikes including some CMs, and meta events... Honestly this tryhard mindset of Raids and T4 fractals groups has always disturbed me, so I never bothered to enter this type of content. I'm not unhappy that way but if they rework LFG to make it more accessible I'd be happy.
Due to my unstable playtime I've never rly had an active guild long term.
Mahett.2157: How are persons like him even allowed to post stuff, he complains about a fake "toxicity" he has clearly never experienced but don't realize how toxic he is being by publishing a post full of rage bait and miss information that can actually have a negative impact in the community, especially the new players, that's why new players should never check gw2 reddit, is full of persons complaining about pointless stuff and making the game and the community look way worse than what it actually is. There are plenty of other places where new players can find help if they need it.
xyttra: I'm sitting with my 40 UFE, not knowing how to get started.
HezrouDhiaga: I've been doing cm fractals for ages and never once do I get told to have a certain amount of UFE to join. I've seen titles obtained as a method. But now I made friends through the event's quick play and now we got like 12 hardcore fractal idiots memeing through 95-99cm.
The people who expect a certain amount of UFE are the same morons that ruined raiding by demanding 10k of that currency and killing that scene years ago.
shakeweller: How do you even know the "fractal meta". Discretize isnt even fully updated anymore.... and I also believe some classes are infinitly better for PUGs than others, especially healers. Aheal Specter I would always prefer to play over a heal chrono in PUGs because of extra barriers and CC, yet everytime I join a group they ask me to switch to healchrono. That is just one example. Often a healchrono opens up a group and specificly looks for an aDPS and nothing else because in their world they can only get clears with a boon renegade... This makes no sense, there are plenty of very good qDPS like Scrapper or Herald who are just as good if not better. Discretize themself have made this even worse by removing VERY STRONG builds like Power Weaver from their website, which is super annoying because most people just blindly follow them.
mcnudelchen2190: yea i won´t touch endgame any time soon ^^
amirrajablo3743: I thanks everyone that endured my noobness in early days of my cms run ...today i have 50k ufe and i join mostly over 20 or 25 k ufe groups and wer just fine and good
incosto6036: I got other side of prorblem i join many groups who seeks 2k/3k ufe and start on 97CM and then last boss is pretty much unbeateable. 95CM and 96CMs are way easier then 97CM. 98CM and 99CM are more mechanic then dpswall. But that 97CM is wierdly places. You start to need to know mechanics and its a truoble to clear if few ppl are dead to avoidable mechanics or you wiped due to a mechanic. Its even sader when you are one of those ppl to blame and half of the group leave instantly without 2nd try :( . I mean its 2-3k Ufe group its expected to wipe few times to those thigs.
anonymityx8504: Is this an EU or NA thing? I mainly pug at NA and I make my own groups which I myself sit around 23k UFE after a year of dipping into fractals cms. I rarely see UFE groups even at reset and I play at odd hours most of the time and I rarely see it. I play on NA and usually just see or list title reqs like KE/NA for my own groups then i dont really check them until they start failing mechanics consistently. Most the time, it really is better to get a exp players for faster clears but sometimes title reqs take so much longer to fill than not having the title. I feel like if you are doing some sort role like Heal, Glutt, Rage, then a title proves you know what you are doing but it doesn't matter as much. I clear CMs T4 at around 1 hr and 30 mins on average, a really good group with high damage and one of the t4 dailies being the cms go for around 1hr give or take. Most of the people who have above 30k UFE make their own statics because at that level you do a lot of portal skips, precasts, and build swapping.
nd6886: Endgame PvE was DoA since wing 1. This community hates being challenged which is why it is a very niche game to get into.
MartijnMumbles: I've played 3 months now, I started fractals with the quickplay event and I'm 10 mystic clovers away from Ad Infinitum. I've done 2(?) CMs, both because someone told me "hey I have a group, accept invite", kanaxai and nightmare I think.
I've checked for the last 15 minutes now. There were 2 CM group without UFE requirements and they needed a specific boondps. And this isn't particularly rare in my experience. I absolutely think that unless I ask/beg people to make parties for me, there is no viable path to go from pugging T4s to getting enough UFE to be allowed to join a vast majority of CM groups.
I don't know how problematic this really is. I don't expect people to just accept whether I can carry my own weight or not. I'm sure I will struggle while I'm learning, and it's not reasonable to ask strangers to put up with that.
But pretending that there is plenty opportunities is just wrong. I firmly believe that I'll need others to bridge the gap or I won't be able to..
lukash7369: the 80% 30k ufe depends on time of the day
if you in eu and gets later in time
there are more 30k ufe groups up and not that many others because nobody joins the high end groups because people are going offline but still enough people online who want to do there 30k ufe frac runs
