Have to say Sylvari, if this price is going anywhere it's going down. I can't see how the supply is going to be flipped here. Make no mistake though, this has been a market manipulation from the devs to try to recover the garbage economy they created. Over the last year they have flooded the market supply of Ecto via VOE, and now they are nerfing the gambling mechanics people use them for. They are trying to push the price down of Ecto's to stop the massive fluctuation from 10s to 50s every year.

carlh2379: The ratio of boxes to mats is based on the amount of mats in the economy. The more ectos in the economy, the less boxes you get. Since VOE mirror farm started, there is a glut of ectos, hence lower auction price and box value

Fawstah: I saw this coming. They put in ecto farms where people could get 100 ectos per day easy from mirror farms, on top of whatever they normally do in game. People were counting on this invent for a price increase, which created (some) artificial scarcity with people holding back their ectos for the event, or even farming more for this event, and now that the event is here, back up supply is flooding in and there isn't enough demand, that speculative bubble is gonna burst.

Good news for anyone who hasn't gotten legendary obsidian armor I guess lmfao

bagles1987: Biggest factor I feel is the Ecto chest Nerf I was 100% on board to gamble then saw it and decided im no longer gonna I'm already gambling at a loss and now I get 43% less than last year yeah... Anet can suck a fat one. So instead i decided im gonna save them And sell them But so did everybody else it seems And with everybody panicking Seeing the handful of people Put in large sums to sell at lower prices Everyone follows suit And here is the crash, So instead I think now im going to craft legendaries with them lol

ricardotorquato: I sold some of my stacks for 31/32 and I'm saving the rest to see if prices are going up again during the weekend. Hope its gonna peak at least 32 again, cuz I still have 2 stacks of 250 ectos listed for this price and paid about 4 gold fee to list each stack, I dont wanna lose that gold to cancel and pay another fee to list again for a lower price D:

this.is.a.username: prices have gone up plenty high, they're just balanced right now between supply and demand for festival boxes... everyone knew the festival was coming and i've seen plenty of streamers with tons of stacks of ectos. i could still sell my current supply for a tidy profit.

Marthisdil: no one saw the prices NOT going up as much as last year? Perhaps the 75% less boxes per ecto has something to do with it.

melanieh6536: Sylvari, look at the previous years where they had the ratios for the globs to boxes. Some of them are really bad. Some years it was 1:1. The 1:7 was probably was a one off. Incredible but it broke the economy realistically.

syrian9301: Habibi the one didn't see this coming is living in no man land , like every content creator was shouting to farm /save them and when see multiple guilds mates mentioning having 100ks of ectos it's clear it will be nerfed. Cheers for all the cheap infusions out there I can actually afford some now

sw-gs: Yesterday it was 5 chests for 1 glob, so they are making stealth patches and changes. Wait till it changes 1 glob = 1 chest.

hobzyymofka: i had 25k and decided to gamba it, broke even but was still fun. i planned to gamba half and sell half cause i bought when it was at like 19s. i got the bee infusion drop which is what i wanted then just ripped the rest of em lol i need ectos to sell my next leggy.. but now it gives me something to grind in the game again lol so worth it to me atleast

Holler86: prices will go back up some when supply dries up. it's simple economics, a lot available for sale right now so the price is low. It won't go as high as it was last year but mid 40s isn't unrealistic IMO.
