My Brutally Honest Review of Guild Wars 2

MarcoMeatball: Welcome to Tyria!

markanthion: As a GW2 main, it's been great to watch your GW2 journey in particular since I learned so much about ff14 from your videos when I was getting into it. Here's to your future memories with GW2!

Kuhazan: Path of Fire and the following Living World seasons are the best expansion / patch content enjoy them!

scottwilkie5161: Shout out to my fellow Tyrians who did 100% base map completion when it also included the WvW maps and mounts didn't exist yet! Glad you're enjoying yourself in GW2, Zep!

Sogogox: It warms my heart that after 13 years of playing this game, it’s finally getting the word of mouth it has always deserved. This game has never missed for me.

MMOArlee: I’m so happy you’ve clicked on with GW2 this time. It’s always so fun to see someone experiencing things for the first time.

The UI and new player experience is something they’ve been needing to go back to work on for awhile, which isn’t to say there haven’t been huge improvements since launch. Iirc they are planning a ton of QoL updates for the first major patch in 2026. So something to look forward too.

mormegil231: To be fair to the game it does inform you on the adventure log and the break bar. But only in pop up text. Which is the easiest thing to miss. There should be small encounters that actually makes the player actually use these things. Not just a pop up that you will forget 2 seconds later. They have these small tutorials in later expansions. For the life of me cannot tell why they did take the time to add these tutorials in to the base game.

AoiMyWaifu: Welcome

-Turn OFF bloom, color grading, color tint, and depth blur

Then motion blur on the lowest.

-Also turn ON Best Texture Filtering, Effec LOD and High-Res Character Textures.

- use your GPU sharpening Filter, 20% should be enough.

Gw2 will feel like a brand new game.

IchiExorz: As a mesmer main who's literally no lifed the game for 5 years on release & playing it on & off right now i'm glad to see GW2 still do great and glad to see you enjoy it.

I'm so used to GW2 not having a maintenance downtime that when you mentioend it i was like "oh right i completely forgot" and it's surprising other games still have maint.

ThiVasss: Why are the b rolls in 240 p?

Mog_King_of_Moogles: Fear Not This Night, the song that plays at the end of the original campaign will always be special to me. My father had just passed when I beat the campaign and I was dealing with some serious depression while stationed up in Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. This song helped me work through some of those emotions, and while I don't actively play GW2 anymore, it will always be one of my all time favorite MMORPGs.

dannyflorida: I’ve been playing MMOs for 25 years, including WoW and FFXIV. I discovered GW2 late, just a couple years ago, but it quickly became not only my favorite MMO but my favorite game period.

GW2 simply provides everything I want in an MMORPG. It’s pure, unadulterated fun. I’m unabashedly obsessed with it—even IRL as I’ve become an avid collector of GW2 art and collectibles. No hobby or leisure activity has ever brought me so much joy.

sylvarixreaper: Welcome Back to GW2 :D Glad to see more people choosing ad appreciating Sylvari (i commented in the 360p version of this video xD)

sohgeki: As a long time Zepla watcher and MMO enjoyer who've played many MMOs (WoW, FF14, SWTOR, New World, Lost Ark etc..) throughout the years, I consider GW2 to be my home MMO. I have been enjoying watching your journey trying out GW2. Thanks for giving the game a chance and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Dreadnessa: You actually made me want to pick GW2 back up! My husband and I played it together long ago, but have since stopped for reasons I can't remember. But you reminded me of the fun I had on there, I played a mesmer as well!

ZeroArcana: GW2 is one of the MMOs that i keep coming back to; and you really are pointing out some things that are very definitely An Issue

koalavonkoopa: what I like the most of gw2 is that you can progress with your own pace and own time, there's no one pointing a gun at you to get the BiS set, the BiS weapon, this and that. Its soooo comfy and fun!

relentlessnights4211: I am elated that you are playing gw2, games so much fun! Very much looking forward to following your adventures. Cheers

Rah_X: for me nothing beats "fear not this night" this track will forever be my favorite in gw2 and it's so easy to just miss out on it if someone just progresses to fast without spending some time standing around after the main story of the core game.

sospokemika1197: Approaching the storytelling peak-LW4. I cant wait to see you finish it.

nhimsim: It was a delight to see and hear your enthusiasm and curiosity shine through in this video - I hope you'll continue enjoying your adventures in Tyria for many more hours

WilliamHaist: BTW up to level 40 msq's are race specific. So if you want to experience the start of the game from the other races perspectives, they all converge around level 40.

emilyshir: been watching your journey on twitch absolutely amazing zepla

Jontman42: After loving, being diappointed in, hating, leaving, being cynical about, and loving GW2 again recently, seeing your discovery and love for the game has been oddly therapeutic. GW1 was my favorite MMO and I had a complicated and difficult relationship with GW2 over the years partially because of it. Having fresh eyes and loving the game for what it is is how I should've treated it years ago, glad I got there eventually.

vutalol: gw2 was sick i played it a few years ago, no clue what was going on on really but the mounts were sick & the pvp was really fun

Fettucine-us9pz: Hearth of Thorns, Path of Fire and End of Dragons was such good content
