Modern MMOs Still Havent Caught Up to Guild Wars 2

nebylicza: I love that I can go to content that was released in 2012 and there are people there

imoxyr6: GW2 the only MMO I can think of low lvl/ old maps remain relevant and ppl still visiting them doing activities.

Zenbubbles: I literally started playing GW2 again after 11 years. It's a blast.

ChuckS117: I’ve been seeing a lot of new players in the starting areas. Love to see it.

1nc4rn: Glad to see you are still playing GW2, it's great.

jtaxx7796: GW2. The MMO that is just built different. Period.

It’s just an amazing dopamine inducing sandbox.

tydeb1780: i really think people are looking at horizontal progression in the entire wrong way, its good for being able to jump in with friends at any point, group up and grind out objectives, quests, legendries, events and just have fun. and you still have progression by unlocking achievements and gear types, skins etc etc etc

Janett-Br: I literally started playing GW2 again after 11 years. It's a blast. ....

KindredPhoenyx: Force sippin the Guild Wars juice since GW3 announcement lmao. I love it.

june_o9: I have played Wow for many years. Then I have tried Gw2 and never looked back.

This game just fits me so much better than Wow in many ways and with Gw3 on the horizon the future looks awesome. Not to mention that devs said that they will still support Gw1 and Gw2 after Gw3 release which is wild.

SesimieStreetFighter: GW2 is one of my greatest games of all time. It made me forget WoW (which i was addicted to) and showed me i was wasting time on an inferior gear threadmill. I love everything about GW2, and it's the game I always think about returning just to see my old characters.

Appoh: Only mmo to find a natural way to make the entire world feel populated all the time. Its rare to end up in a zone thats dead. The variety all being worth your time creates an incredibly alive world. Its also exciting randomly seeing a zerg just doing events in the open world. The mentor/commander system also offers you an option to easily tag along in group events without having to look for a party to do it

Beardbarian46: Dude you really need to Unlock the other Mounts

Griffon

Skyscale and

Turtle are so damn cool.

Also as you unlock Masterys they get a lot more skills n Stuff.

They get so much better.

steinsnevermore9289: Main reason why GW2 feels alive is because of the horizontal progression. Every zone is still visible with events and things to do. Nothing gets outdated due to new expansion coming out.

comradestolas4120: I just returned yesterday after the GW3 reveal. Got my friend to try it for her first time ever. So I hope she likes it, I forgot just how fun and awesome of a game it is

nebylicza: 5:44 yay another actioncam enjoyer. People say it’s limiting, and maybe it is, but I made it work. It feels really good to play and I usually out survive everyone so it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal for my char.

Noxiddar: Guild Wars 2 is straight magic. I've only recently returned after the announcement, and I genuinely am having a great time. So much so, that there are times I wonder why I ever set it down.

iguessthisiscontent: I just wish Guild Wars' UI wasn't such an eyesore. It feels like a legacy utilitarian UI.

JohnDBlue: As someone who owns GW2 but has not yet really gotten very far into it, let's see if I'll finally get deeper in there after this video

sirbarther: I've been waiting to play GW2 forever but I'm controller bound and waiting for the Steam Controller 2 to finally deliver so I can hop in.

MikaaWoo: And as far as I know ArenaNet have said they will continue to support Gw2 even when Gw3 is live since they are different enough. Love them for that

disco2660: Speaking to the base games being a bit stale or dated, they're taking the next 18 months to modernize the base game and earlier expansions to modern standards. It won't change the visuals but some of the combat and events will be refreshed. Exciting times IMO! GW2 is so underrated

lionidas4902: I remember seeing gw2 for the first time and thinking "everything that makes me mad about a mmo are fixed in this game". I played for like 2-3 years and i don't playa nymore simply cause i played for what i consider a great amout of time, but i agree that gw2 is a game to come back to if you're mutch into mmos. Some friends of mine always come back to the game from time to time.

Flupperz: I do wonder if people who complain about the horizontal progression, saying they have a lack of things to do, have engaged with the legendary or mount system. Because those, that's the "endgame" progression. Getting a full set of legendary armor can take months.

atreidespendragon: the art of guild wars and then guild wars 2 is honestly what really inspired me to develop art skills and just design progression in games. I have loved the lore and art of this series for years.

kesamek8537: GW2 and GW1 taught me the meaning of 'quality' in 21st century gaming. They make the vast majority of other games very easy to assess and reject.

When Arenanet designed these games they really did have the best brains in the business working there.

Nr4747: 9:38 One important point: Legendaries aren't more powerful than ascended gear, they just let you swap the stats around (which can also be achieved by having multiple sets of ascended gear).
