Shopping CartAcolyte7: Camera upgrade? Looks really good man :)
sdjnfzxcnv: I’m glad someone is actually mentioning getting a Skyscale as an immediate priority. I’ve come across quite a few “I just hit level 80, now what?” posts, and I was surprised that a lot of the advice was like “immerse yourself in the story” or “learn your class”. That’s great and all, but it’s not going to be very fun doing those things if you’re mostly stuck on foot or just using a raptor. Mobility in this game is huge and getting a Skyscale is a complete game changer. It really becomes the foundation for everything you do in GW2 whether that’s getting hero points, doing metas, or just exploring maps. If you have SOTO, I would honestly recommend getting the Skyscale there as the very first thing you focus on.
Calypso993: one thing, dont worry chasing misleading gold per hour farming methods. its all fake.
AnduinKurion: The first thing you really should be doing when hitting lvl 80, is having fun and doing the things that bring you that exact good vibe :)
Xexaxo: WvW is subjective... I don't like this mode. It's my biggest disappointment as a new player. Almost everyone says that Tier 1 legendary weapons are easy to get if you get the starter key from the Wizards' Vault. But despite having it, every weapon requires the Gift of Battle, which can't be obtained except in WvW mode. I think this should be mentioned in a video for newcomers.
beneteus3833: Story unlocks maps and masteries and even some mounts are in it - so yeah, do the stories that unlock more content even if you are not a story player
also if you do the expanded weapon, WAY before that you get the cross elite spec weapons, same soto story but in like chapter 2 instead of chapter 12 (i think)
mismismism: Only speaking for myself, when I started playing, I immediately rushed Skyscale first thing and it was the best decision ever, especially as someone that hates platforming and jumping puzzles(even though a bunch were required to unlock it, not sure about new SotO version), the Skyscale made HoT change from maps I dreaded to still maybe my favorite expansion maps, so many tricks to help bypass a bunch of other jumping puzzles, just so much time saved getting from point A to point B. I highly suggest pushing for Skyscale ASAP.
mikestubeviews9973: how do you make gold daily with 400 jewel?
Harddus: 8:27 me 400h in having all mounts but the skyscale
Coreycry: 6:32 : commander tag => you just hit lvl80 you know nothing about leading a squad, missed opportunity to mention Mentor tag, the "Temu Commander Tag" is enough if you want to bring attention on the map for something
alexanderpopov3587: Skyscale first, Elite spec next (VoE maps), then Fractals and Masteries. Not Raids, and definitely not Commander tag for fresh lvl 80.
AusTxMale: The only thing I would add to the discussion about the ascended gear vs exotic is the ability to slot in agony infusions to let you be able to level up your fractal experience. You aren't going to get to the T4 level in exotic gear.
madreamer: as a semi serious player I always troll the deals on the gem store for packages, like a bag slot a shared and such at a good deal. You have to be patient but it's worth it.
jgkitarel: I don't agree with all of your things, but it is solid and I see your logic for putting them where you did.
Dan-sc2pi: This video is excellent; I've never seen a new-player level 80 video with this much explanation that is both fair and supports the points. I've been playing since launch and have always tried to help new players progress... this will be a new favorite resource. Well done. My only change would be moving the masteries before the ascended gear, as the autoloot is a game changer...
BTW, fully agree with gold farming & legendaries going into "can wait"... those seem to be the things that many new players overvalue.
Beriorn: As an addendum to the Character Slots: if you buy a Deluxe Upgrade for any of the expansions you get some stuff as well as a Character Slot. While these are normally rather expensive (2400 gems), when on sale they are much cheaper, especially the earlier ones. The best one by far is the Path of Fire one: for 960 gems you get a Character Slot, some other stuff, but most importantly the Invitation to the Lily of the Elon, an infinite use teleporter to Path of Fire, which has everything you need to turn into your home base like a bank and AH, crafters, and a variety of other services. They might not all be such good deals, so take a look on the wiki to see which ones are worth it in your eyes.
ForTheJerusalem: If you want to start raiding, get commander tag and start running your own raids in either training (you will need to explain the boss to people) or experienced with "know mechs" mark, this will let you slowly start getting KP to not be forced into running raids.
Other that a few bosses (i'm looking at you kite builds) you can pug all of them, you can teach people all of them.
doct4rdoc894: PVP is the best way to get quick exotic gear (at least for me) with selectable stats so i would rate it a lot higher tbh
ZaeBae22: Tier List Boys
johnkallianiotis9206: Tierlist enjoyer here as well nice vid keep up the good work!!
Photoloss: Commander tag should be a full tier lower than whichever content you're going to use it in. Get used to how stuff actually plays before trying to lead others. And if you just want a "help me!" lamp for open world save yourself the gold and get the Mentor icon via masteries instead, it's basically free.
Ascended gear is VERY varied. Honestly more something you should always keep an eye on as a secondary bonus objective while doing whatever else you fancy. Try to finish collections if you're doing the associated content anyway. Save drops from fractals and raids for other builds/characters. Hold on to map currencies/materials unless you consider a fashion item truly MUST HAVE because a lot of maps offer some ascended gear in the vendor lists even if you don't yet know where or how. Especially Living World maps, if you have those unlocked. Special mention to Bloodstone Fen (LS3 map/chapter 1) which is unique in its gear having "pseudo-legendary" quality allowing infinite near-free stat resets.
chezpizza3869: I would argue the character slots can go to the "can wait" tier because when you purchase the expansions, depending on what you buy you usually are given an additional character slot. In 10 years I have 9 characters and have not needed buy a new one and I still have 4 additional slots.
clickbait_0190: 15:36 I thought I need Weaponmaster Training for the Spear. I would prefer to do the story in order, but i loathe GS on Warrior and find it boring on Guardian, so I'm gonna go off the rails for this. Thanks for the info!
yohkodevilhunter8292: as a follow up to this video, make one about how the best ways to level to 80 are.
deni.6304: About skyscale) In my tierlist - number 2 after springer. Tierlist of annoying mounts. This launch skill in battle, this sticking to every pixel...Maybe its need some activation/deactivation button for this sklls. Just like with leyline. And he is so slow))
TomekC-1: 25:10 it’s just a matter of going to a merchant and purchasing? Is there any story gating?
justincronkright5025: Oh a friend mentioned that SkySkale you couldn't get with PoF, he must have been mistaken. But he has mentioned that even though things are available in 2 different DLCs or a Living World, one route might be easier than the other (more worth it for general grinding than others).
