lhelloitsliv: Once you hit lvl 80 you buy exotic gear from the trading post and do metas (map events/boss), fractals or strike missions if you wanna do it from pvE (farm gold to craft your gear or have a small chance of a drop). You can also play a ton of WvW (mass pvp) or Conquest (5v5) and buy your ascended gear from the vendors there. You cannot buy ascended gear from the trading post, but you can buy some legendary weapons.

You can go to WvW once you're lvl 80 and have your exotic lvl 80 gear and WvW build (usually a different from open world pve and other content). Each class have tons of builds available.

1-Realy bad class desgins , realy bad balance to point you gona be playing "meta" which is like 5 classes or so

2-Realy bad pvp , one of the worst combat systems you gona experince

3-Realy bad balance which effects both pve and pvp

4-Wvw , you stuck in a team for a whole month getting griefed and they refusing to fix it , lags momment more than 100 players appear on map ,balance is so bad it makes wvw a boring 2 stack on one person running at each other spamming skils.

5-boring raids with zero to no mechs , just a hit and spank

6-Most of the pve content is dead , pvp content is dead and they refusing to rework it .

7-Realy bad grafices one of the worst in whole mmo genre

8-dont get tricked by mounts , they mostly not used except for 1 "skyscale" , warclaw for land Because there is no content to use mounts for " they well desgined tho , just you dont use them realy"

9-There is literally no endgame whatsoever and you gona be there in about a week or so then rest is grinding cosmetices

10-Arena is non existence , full of bots , ranking doesnt mean anything , full of boosters too

11- They dont punish players liek at all , bans doesnt exist , you can spam n word everything you dream of , you wont get punished ever unless you were seen by gm playing which is rare .

12- Most of the cosemitces clips with everything , it's badly desgined

13-Huge bot issue that destory market .

staceyhenley6134: Probably already answered, but you can do good on exotic gear that can be easily get from loot or the auction house in PVE zones and some other areas. The gear still be valid if you quit for months and come back. The difference between exotic and ascended is minimal when it comes to stat comparison.

Bl2EAKIN: Back when it came out in 2012-2013, I played the shit out of this game and was top 5 on the PvP ladder in EU for the first half a year.

Throughout the years I've tried to get back into it several times, but despite me knowing that this game is EXACTLY what I need in terms of a MMORPG, I just can't seem to get into it.

The combat is great but it doesn't feel impactful. The world is beautiful despite the dated graphics, but it still feels flat. The mounts are downright the best implementation of a mount system in a MMORPG ever, yet that's not enough to make exploration fun for me.

I just CAN'T. I start playing, zoom around on the mounts for a bit, do a few hearts in a zone, I get bored and I immediately want to log off and go play something else. I don't think it's the game's fault, probably something wrong with me.

I don't know if I should just suffer through for several dozens of hours so I can get a character to max level (boosts sound like a terrible idea, I wouldn't know shit about what's going on) so I can finally appreciate the game and enjoy it fully.

mikavituhandle: in terms of how much gw2 values your time if you grind gold for gems, its even worse than bdo hour/money ratio.

in guild wars, the best gold per hour you can KEEP grinding, aka not behind once a day lockout, is 20 - 30gold per hour. 10 bucks of gems gives you between 220-250 gold. so you are grinding 7-8 hours... or spend 10 bucks.

JamieR: GW2 raids are pretty solid. And meta world events in Heart of Thorns is honestly one of the most fun world event I've ever seen in any MMORPG.

aries4378: I'd been playing FFXIV since launch, but this game sunk it's hooks into me and I haven't left. I've played them ALL, but Guild Wars 2 is the best mmo our tight now because it actually respects your time, and it's combat and mount system are top notch.

albertport2642: Let's take a new character slot as an example that you will need for sure. A new char slot costs 800 gems. RN 800 gems = 352 gold. You can farm 30 g per hour doing the easiest content in the game (world boss runs) and selling all the loot in the trading post. So 800g = 10 hours of active gameplay. Probably less if you are lucky or get carried into harder content.

realDLN-001: Ill be honest with you blue I was very skeptical playing this game again and I played through the first expansion years ago. I dont even remember why I left maybe a new game released and I forgot to pick it back up IDK.

I started this weekend and This game is so freeing from the typical MMO formula it feels like a videogame first chore second approach. Im level 70 and im impressed both from NPC amounts on screen in world events and story to the exploration and world feel. I dont think anything out there has a world thats comparable to Guild wars and the art style and world scale also verticality has aged extremely well. The game is more focused on creating a living breathing world with chase items and an extreme ammount of build variety rather then a power go up fantasy which I think is fine because the stuff you can earn is cool AF. that vid I linked in your discord for the WOW vs Guild Wars Is the m-ain one that got me to put in the hours and really give it a shot and Im loving it so far.
