balcardos: I came back to GW2 over the weekend on a whim after not playing for 10 years, and it's been amazing just seeing so many new GW2 content coming out, guess it was the best time to get back to it

LORD-DHUUM: this is what ill say for GW2, the community is 10/10.

i had never cleared a raid and i wanted to clear one to unlock the raid mastery i opened the look for group tab and people were writing in hieroglyphics so i just made a new group and said that i wanted to clear a raid to get the mastery and within 5 minutes i had a full group and we had a leader who guided us and we cleared the first raid.

apply the same thing on strikes and achievements i literally make a group asking for help and boom people join and help me instantly.

spinnenente: yea you really need to get rid of the treadmill pavlov trained response to shiny gear dropping. Gw2 is more about gradually building up your character and account. There are super rare drops like infusions and precursors but you won't see many of those in your entire gw2 playtime.

Endrosz: Yes, the game is missing the dopamine hit of a valuable loot drop with regards to gear... but infusion drops are still chased by many!

neoo9795: I 100% agree with the endgame loot thing. I rly dont need always better loot but a skin here and there would be nice. but i rly looks all the same if its not exotic or above... I mean yeah we have infusions or other little things but most of it is just for mats...

NachtGram: If you wanna join a Strike or Raid training Group on [EU] that is Focused on teaching mechanics and not carry everyone to the final loot hit me up. We do Raids on mondays and strikes on wednesdays each week. We usaly have 1-2 open slots and mostly 50% of players are new to game or to the gamemode.

khalidadilsoufan1025: The beta for fractals is just a select 7 of the 25 i believe, thats why you prob saw the same ones over and over!

nielsjensen4185: If you feel Fractals are samey, then take a break from it, there are loads of other content you can do instead. If you tire of Fractals, look up the LFG to see if there are any dungeon groups, else just run around in the open world.

The real reason for map completion being individual to the character is because 100% Core completion is necessary to make g1 Legendaries.

travisrambo9332: The problem with loot chasing is that the end result is constant power creep. Imo the way gw2 handled this is a good thing, hence it’s obvious longevity. I’ll also add that you can buy extra content using gems and you can buy gems using gold so anything that I can make gold from in this game equates to rl money. To me that’s the shiny drop.

zomfgroflmao1337: One thing I like that barely anyone mentiones is the Roller beetle, once you unlock it you get access to races around the world and those can be unexpectably incredibly fun.

jrovel07: Very fair assessment! From the looks of your video you've at least started Living world season 4 if not completed it? Since you're not streaming, I'm not sure if you found the Portal scrolls and tomes that you put the portal scrolls into from the vendors in LWs3 and LWs4 maps for fast ports for alts to get to the maps.

Most veterans don't level second characters completely through explorations as you can gain big experience and levels through standing at crafting stations. Once you get the roller beetle you can zoom across maps and gain a lot of xp just opening up the map as the roller beetle is about 3x faster than a raptor.

I get that, what's this loot for feeling as well. I think that depends upon what you want out of the game.

Sell the materials, make some in game money, convert that money to gems when the conversion rates are good and spend it in cosmetics or QOL stuff.

OR, if you are thinking of ever making a legendary they require a ton of materials. (Secrets of the Obscure legendary armor require 600 globs of ectoplasm per armor piece, Other legendaries require a certain amount of different levels of crafting materials from those specific zones as well as things like: (250 blood, venom, totems from this level zones, 100 from this level zones, 50 from this level zones etc) So while you're not doing any of it, it can feel like "what's the purpose?". But think of it as someone who starts the game thinking What's the purpose of not gear grinding? The game says find what you want that you want to do with what we gave you. Right now you haven't found it yet, but you might yet and then think you don't have enough of what they gave you.

There are a few legendaries that come from achievement hunting. Right now you might not be into legendaries, but it is so nice to make another character and not have to think about what gear or weapon because you have a legendary that can be used with whatever stats you want the minute they hit level 80.

speedBun07: So, the trinity existss on the late game (raids, fractals, strikes) you will most of the time need a healer a quick and an alac per 5 players. But it does work a bit different from other MMOs as the role is not class locked, most classes can take any role.

Tanking is a bit different too in the late game, as aggro exists in raids, fractals strikes

Dawnwalker_tv: I love gw2 due to taking time off from game, I have 3,471 hours played and that is over the course of approximately 9.76 years .. the main way to get loot is to use salvage kits, to grind down to materials for legendaries or accended gear

Shadowmii: In quickplay fractals you only have like 7 of them of around 23 total

Ricolaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa: I was able to get about 100 before I got bored and couldn't take it anymore but I respect it as a game. It just isn't really for me. The progression isn't my cup of tea.
