Shopping Cartgeromewypukol: for me as a veteran it is difficult to find stuff id love to do! The only thing I could do is craft legendary armor. But what for?
lightynide: The April nuke demolished the NA LFG again. We went from just about every spec having multiple viable dps and support options to pre-Janthir build option poverty overnight. They had finally boosted up the LFG with the raid finder and currency streamlining and then killed instanced content overnight with a poorly considered balance patch that hit support players the hardest, again... it would have been better for them to just bite the bullet and remove quickness and alacrity in instanced content the way they've done to WvW instead of punishing support players for existing in content they've designed them to exist in.
geburah8319: they need new writers. the story is SO BAD. it's a shame because the voice acting is very good. and story is so important because thats what tons of casual players look forward to playing. No more idealogical nonsense. people want to get lost in an adventure instead of being lectured on morals or being talked at forever by npcs.
Lyoshiiro: Ngl, everytime I want to/try to come back to the game. I'm lost on the story, how far I have came and how far I need to go on. And another thing really urks me is that the relic despite having legendary relic I'm punished for not being up to date for completing the collection achievement that sometimes require certain content to be complete that may no longer be popular...
Unkibara: As a vet, the game just doesn't provide enough content that I enjoy for me want to stay long after every patch, especially compared to other mmos and live service games.
Jett125: I struggled after the fashion templates were introduced. It might sound silly but playing around with fashion was always my back up. If I wasn't sure what to do, I'd play with fashion and often end up on a quest to unlock something or need gold or it was just a helpful distraction. I have been avoiding fashion for fear of destroying my templates. Without tab 0 I have been losing interest. At this point I haven't played in a month or 2 because nothing else has been appealing. Hoping this changes that.
VladimirStanchev-h5h: I liked the data-driven presentation here. I would love to see more about the upcoming GW3 project soon.
Logan800: I'm not really into guild wars story I never was because it's too politically correct and lesbian and lgbtq I'm straight I don't want to see that stuff I don't mind it being in the game but if they did less of that I think they will be better off also I think they forgot about who that demographics are the guild wars 1 was nothing like this that's your main problem when I just mentioned above
Regorsnas: Starting playing with my wife 2 months ago, we are following the story in order, we are on Living Worlds Season 3, and between the story we do everything, achivments, fractals, raids, map completition, metas, wizard vault, jumpinmg puzzels, crafting, geting all pets for my wife, farming ascended trinkets, fashion, etc, all, we have content left for years....
xiaodaoputh2548: I have to say, I did stop playing in November. Currenting just checking hows things are before even going back
Westknight93: I started playing gw2 about 2 months ago. Became a pvp main and doing wvw on side too.
What I like:
No addons
Action combat
Don't need to grind gear for arena pvp
Can earn decent gold playing rated pvp
I am not required to do pve endgame raids if I don't want to
Can experience gw2 story quests together with my wife, bought all expansions.
BigSkoomatv: When people are talking about the lack of announcement they aren't referring to the official announcement (like name and release date etc) theyre referring to the fact that along with soto they said they are also working on expac 5-6 so we knew they were coming before the announcement. My thinking is 3 years was roughly their xpac dev time before switching to this model so they were green lit the resources and chose to do it in 3 expansions to increase revenue so if Gw3 is not around the corner we will likely get a similar announcement with the next expansion that they are actively working on 8-9 along with 7
TheBloopers30: Story is just too awful to get any of my friends to play. I assume there are a lot of potential new players who gets filtered out because of this. Only MMO I've played that has worse writing is WoW with their newer expansions. But WoW expansions just has lot more stuff in them to still keep players interested and the older ones are "free".
jrovel07: When they killed the Wizard's vault with the revamp, I stopped logging in as much. There's just nothing there after a couple of weeks to make me think I'm getting anything from those rewards. They said removing gold from the wizard's vault was to stop inflation, but there was no inflation. Everything was going down in price making making gold take longer not inflationary. So now, after a the mystic clovers, coins and gold the rest is trash and yes there's a bag slot but really, for people who don't play more than 1-2 characters as main, how many bag slots do you need? Yes I have full legendary armor now with only the relic, the sigils and runes to get legendary for. They made legendary relics ridiculous with the number of lucent motes needed. You can deconstruct 200,000 pieces of gear and not be 1/10th of the way to what you need.
BonkMachine: my biggest issue is that I spent 90% of my time playing on engi, so far I unlocked pretty much every skin that fits the class.
if they would only add more skins to work for, I would be totally fine, but rn I got nothing to work on.
rosariocrimson: For VoE, I haven't gotten it yet because I don't like pausing progress in the middle of a chapter, it would drive me nuts, so I'm just waiting for the full thing to be out before I get it, which also has the added benefit of letting some bugs get ironed out before I start, like I know the first bit had a collection that some people just couldn't actually do at first. So I'm sure there are other people like me who are just waiting on it that'll give a little boost later, though with the temptation of elite specs maybe not as much as it otherwise would have been, since I'm sure there are people who got it just for that when they otherwise would have waited.
As for the Guild Wars 3 thing. Until they announce it and I see something solid to base an opinion on, I don't think there's anything to get worked up about. People say they want Guild Wars 3 but what does that actually mean? What do they actually want? Do people want a story set some decades or centuries later? I only want that if Arena Net has an actual good plan for it, if they don't then making it would be a terrible idea. Do people want it to be a new MMO? If so it would run into the issue of having to fill out an entirely new version of the world that has to balance being the Tyria we know while also not being essentially copied homework with the answers changed a bit, in essence it has to not be GW2 . The same for the classes, combat system, enemies, etc. I think people think they want GW3, without actually thinking about what that would actually mean. Don't get me wrong, if they make a GW3 and do it well I'll be all aboard, but I do worry that GW3 would just feel kind of like more something that people will latch onto for a bit before being like, 'eh, GW2 is better, I'm just gonna go back to that,' and then everyone suffers because they have another title to maintain.
DragonZlaverGW2: you know if you read the trademark of it says for mistbound " Printed posters; stickers; printed postcards; printed notebooks; shopping bags of paper; paper tissues; printed books in the field of video games; writing implements; money clips; collectible printed trading cards. , Stuffed toys; dolls; toy weapons; toy figures; gaming keyboards; handheld game consoles; rubber balls; trading card games; game cards; board games." from the trademarkelite site so no gw3 but the trading card game more likely
Riaining7: Perhaps the next expansion is going to be the Underworld that was present in GW1? I remember in an old guild going into underworld with a Ranger trapping team, and all the enemies were really dangerous and we had to lay lots of traps in order to fight one mob at a time, or little groups of patrols. (Underworld was where we got a lot of our ectoplasms.) I sometimes would bring my Ele with Glyph of Renewal meteorstorm to help with knockdown on enemies so we wouldn't get overrun when we aggroed too many. GW2 doesn't have Underworld, perhaps the next expac is going to be a bigger addition to the game like that? I wouldn't be opposed to a new and improved game engine with better cpu utilization, either.
shakeweller: After I got Full Legendary, I lost all motivation to play. My gold is piling up, there is nothing meaningful to go for. The new Masterys arent as gameplay changing anymore as Mounts, Gliding or Jade Bot used to be. I need a meaningful carrot on the stick to keep on playing an MMO, but GW2 simply doesnt offer that post Legendarys.
10Thething10: Game is great for new people, Make ecto gambling great again!!
miroto9446: The struggles of GW2 last years arent by quality of the xpac content, at least not to such extent as people make it seem.
This is not a doomer post, just describing the current issues of the gamemodes.
Disclaimer, Unholy big wall of text inbound:
PvP:
For over 4 years in a row, the "ballance" of top 10/5 builds is extremely bad,
the meta is powercrept to infinity, and every new patch that fix current broken build adds new overtuned stuff.
And beside questionable ballance, the top end PvP players reached apocalyptic wasteland levels of shadyness and toxicity, to such extent that wintrading/ddos/doxing/cyberbully is a daily norm,
and people straight up ddos/exploit severe bugs in monthly tournament finals. The lack of moderation isnt helping it either.
To "fix" PvP, we need way more active moderation, and ballance not designed around selling the "new hot" expac specs/weapons at cost of healthly ballance.
WvW:
Just like PvP, the ballancing of WvW makes the gamemode pretty unplayable last years.
Solo roaming isnt enjoyable since you keep facing celestial raidboss builds, or gankers exploiting crazy af builds which has no counterplay.
Zerging ended to be a infinite boonball blob that sponge all damage and the only active counterplay is boonrip/booncorrupt spam builds or unblockable oneshots (if skill/size of oponent teams is equal).
Only somewhat enjoyable ballance wise is small scale fights of 7v7 to 12v12 where active gameplay is rewarded.
And beside ballance issues, the slow release cadence for alliances system effectively destroyed all kind of server pride people had.
WvW needs the same nuke patch that PvE got, tuning down the builds, and it needs alliances system finished soon to reignite server (now guild) pride.
PvE:
With addition of EoD, the benchmark DPS of builds for group content kept growing higher and higher every single patch,
reaching to such levels that 55/60/63k DPS was highly common, and even healers/tanks/boonsupp started doing 30k's with ease. (yes in top bench but even "peepo" squads started doing galactic damage)
Most old game content was designed around rougly 27k DPS damage dealers, and having 4x healer/Tank/boon supp that were doing at best 10/12 k damage.
So the squad DPS went from 200-300k to easilly 500-750k, and the old content was not ballanced around such galactic damage output so all bosses older than 4 years were 0 challange anymore.
Luckilly the latest update tuned down the DPS powercreep, making the old content actually good again while reducing new bosses HP, but for my taste the damage output is still pretty high.
And beside the squad DPS benchmarks going to stratosphere, the Janthir expac had really weak quality in metaevents and overall story, but VoE is a major improvement (even comparable to end of dragons expac quality)
PvE had severe issues, but the latest ballance patch, and the highly improved quality with VoE expac made PvE great again, just gotta keep up the pace in future.
So, if PvP and WvW get same ballance nuke patch treatment PvE had, PvP get some real moderation finally, and new expacs will be good enough quality, the future of GW2 can be bright.
quelvix: These numbers should be adjusted for inflation before interpreting them.
