Pikachu790: Auric Basin is one of the most attended map metas; in fact it's frequent that this event and Tangled Depths will have full maps for their metas! (Though undoubtedly AB has more treasure reward)

Keck282: This and Tangled Depths metas are very much alive due to the rare chance of getting rare expensive Infusions. You also get a fair amount of unidentified gear.

PixTax: Under options you can set how many other players you can see to improve your framerate.

DarkeshiDraws: most metas on all expansions are pretty active, you just need to check the timers

Shrek_The_Mathematician: The staff thing you talked about does require an expansion.

Each expansion adds either new weapons to each class or new elite specializations to each class, or both!

Warriors couldn't use the staff as a weapon until the 4th expansion! It is a support and healing weapon for warriors though.

74hemel: To manage player effects in Guild Wars 2, use the "Hide Ally Visual Effects" setting in General Options.This will stop all other player weapon animations.

tyzual: The weird thing is MMOs have years' worth of content being killed on purpose by the developers. I never understood that, the content is done and ready, why kill it in favor of newer content? To sell an expansion that the player will play for a couple of hours and then unsub because there is nothing to do? Doesnt look a smart move to me.

Wagmonci: Auric Basic meta is very cool and all the chests that unlock and you can open after the event is a cool design for me, always find it very chill and nice to do and I'm glad people still do it.

UnsupervisedFool: The game makes a good job of making people play old content, with collections and achievements (or even good loot and mats), so pretty much all the old content is relevant. Recently I found myself doing events in starting areas to get a 20 slots bag :D

DraculSturm: To maximize profits you should be identifying all unid'ed loot, and using the correct salvage kit (blues with basic or copper kit, green Journeyman's or Runecrafter, and yellow or exotic Master or Silver-fed) to break them down. That exotic staff that you sold for 20s, when salvaged with a master kit or silver-fed kit, would have most likely yielded at least one ecto (~40s) and possibly other valuable materials. Unless an exotic sells for around a gold or more, you are better off salvaging it.

AlaiaSkyhawk: Yeah, player nameplates will kill your framerates at any worldboss or meta event. Another tip, set player count to medium at the most. This displays enough players around you to appreciate how many are there, but not so many it will wreck your FPS. If you still drop to low frames after that, then flip player count to low for the duration of the worldboss/meta. You can still see how many people are there by holding down whichever key you have set to show friendlies when it's pressed.

gordonkenneth9354: In my experience, the vast majority of metas are very well populated. What you saw in the Auric Basin is on par with what you'll see everywhere. If folks are left hanging with no one else doing a meta, it's a safe bet that you're in an overflow server and just need to LFG and switch to a full one. That's the way

DukeOfCarolina: Wait til you do the Assault on the Ice Citadel on Drizzlewood Coast in the Path of Fire Expansion. You fight champions, a giant tank, and a dragon. And you get like 25 chests to open too after the final boss. Pretty awesome
