MD-ee2fq: The UI is a big one for me. Its the main reason why i dont play Untamed. Not only do the button to unleash yourself and the pet looks almost the same plus the only indicator if youre ambush is ready is a small buff icon. I dont even have bad eyes and still am unable to notice that in combat.
Just_Joe4U: As someone who exclusively plays with action cam even in wvw/pvp my main complain with it is the tab target: that thing is stupid af, i'd have someone standing on top of me punching me on the face and the tab target would target the enemy that's picking his nose 2 km away on the top of a wall having absolutely nothing to do with me.
MyOrangeString: I wish each of the boons had a static position on the screen. It lights up when it's on.
A constantly moving and shifting list of boons and conditions is unreadable. And so small in its tiny little corner. And then your party's boons are in another region of your screen entirely.
Khylar9: I just recently fell down in a fractal because I did not notice the animation hint of the ground that it will break. I was not on full concentration mode due to stressful workday, but still I think I would have noticed if not for the pink clusterfuck that I was producing with Mesmer spear 2-5-2-4 and Rain of Sword above and Shatter F5 around me :D plus all the stuff from my team. Suddenly the ground went pooooof and I was shocked at my incompetence while falling down into the pit of shame
joshuaherring9674: 100% agree Clutter is the biggest issue.
I had issues with WvW for a LONG time because I couldn’t see Wtf was happening most of the time.
The other points are (for me) less of an issue.
Lumenadducere: Aside from the visual clutter (which I agree is an issue) for me one of the biggest issues is just that the combat fundamentals just weren't designed around the types of PvE gameplay we're now seeing. Early on they really thought things would revolve more around fields finishers, with a different party member providing each. Over time things changed so we have the roles we have now, but the roots for something else are still there and it's noticeable in how clunky things can be sometimes (rotations, roles, etc.). They've done an admirable job adapting the classes but it's clear the classes weren't initially designed for the alac/quickness and healing roles that are now standard.
NDfeerer10: My biggest problems with the combat are the visual clutter and the boon system. The constant incessant need to have full boon coverage, especially in group content gets old. the game is fully built around it, especially 25 might, alacrity, and quickness; it forces the dreaded stacking mechanic in all content. I hate having to be on top of my teammates all the time or suffer consequences. It diminishes styles of play, mainly playing anything ranged. Something I don’t have to do in other MMOs ive played.
mhh16: Huge on the action cam and controls. They could have made it great but now it’s just way too late to try and do anything. I’d imagine with action cam on a controller it would’ve even been worth developing a console version of the game, but they had to have done this way early on. Current anet just doesn’t have capabilities nor the effort needed for such overhauls.
GatheredMyst: Final Fantasy solved the visual clutter piece with a three tiered setting. You can set Your Own, Your Groups, or Others particles to "Full", "Partial", or "Off".
Makes a bigger difference than you'd think.
I have my own set to full, my party's set to partial, and others set to off.
SocratesJuJitsu: The tab targeting is abysmal. Plus the highlighted targeted icon is impossible to pick out in a crown.
MyOrangeString: It's interesting how these were not issues in GW1: the interface there is fully customizable (position and size), and the game is a bit slower paced and very readable.
sharkstaint1373: Talking about the combat in general , i feel like gw2 combat is so odd and boring to be honest , except the character movement , i the stacking system in gw2 need to be reworked , you just stack and spam everything on everyone without care , it would feel more fun if you got the freedom to actually move around the map encounter , but the stack combat keeps repeating itself , keep boons up and that's it , the ui also feels like its from 2002 , we need a custom ui option where you can move everything
gilsonsilva5811: Regarding the amount of visual garbage, I have the hypothesis that they always put it to disguise the super dated character animations. "Does the character break his back when using a sword or a mace (all classes and races do this in this game)? No problem, we added this super flashy effect and no one will notice the problem". XD
About the controller, it's easier than you think nowadays, I speak from personal experience. All you need is Steam and add it (if you don't have a Steam account). There, the great asset is the shift function (basically, while you hold a button, all the other buttons change keybinds). So, if you configure the L2 (Xbox controller) for this, while pressed, all the other buttons will work. The number of buttons is not the problem. And yes, you can configure it to play in tab target mode even with the controller (I don't recommend it, but it works).
The UI is the only major problem when it comes to using joysticks.
In fact, the UI is the biggest problem with this game, since its launch.
ryuzakikazeshini4012: For me personally BDO has the best combat...only downside is that it's p2w since it is after all a pvp-centric kmmo.
BatmanSupermanAoW: The combat is fun but very unbalanced. Talking about the UI, it is the absolute worst though. It is by far the worst out of any MMO. Graphics are pretty garbage too. All the UX stuff is pretty bad. They need to just shut the game down at this point.
lordgrave57: Sorry but BDO has best combat no contest. But the rest of the game is up for debate.
jrovel07: Very valid analysis. I need to see combo fields, damaging effect to avoid and there's so much clutter on the ground sometimes I can't see what I need to see because I'm looking at a kaleiidoscope of colors. PLEASE get rid of warrior banners! So few fights take place in one static location where non one moves. Banners only work in one static location and if ppl or the fight moves, then they are worhtless!!!
july5345: I absolutely hate that after so many years Anet still haven't released a setting that prevent us from accidental deselecting with mouse left click.
DaedalosC9: UI... I have a lot of problems when I can't reach far places with ground target teleport skills because some UI interfers, the target HP bar specially...
About the Action Camera ground target... maybe the game could switch to tab target mode while u have the ground target skill on hold and then u get back to action camera when u drop it or cancel it
MrNickcrush: I wouldn't say that visuals and combat are the same
SatoMalSoMalSo: very good video
OKDC: The aftercast thing is an issue for sure.
mr.brokenone: Hello, I was wondering if you have answer for bunker build opponents? I just cant stand facing bunker weaver, tempest, druid and and hammer dragonhunter.
skulpturostone4621: I play only with action camera.
thehallmonitor4515: Maybe this isn’t really relevant to the video, but honestly the biggest thing for me has been the weird damage rotations.
The game often has bizarre interactions especially on classes like Ele and engi. Where you go into a utility or an element, press a single button, and leave. It seems, to me at least, it would make more sense to balance out these interactions to clean up the rotations
ShiyoKozuki: Forced stacking is terrible and will always hold this game back.
