Guild Wars 2s Biggest Problems.. and how to fix them!

shakeweller: LWS2 not being 100% free is a huge mistake if you ask me. You'd think "Oh they can't give away everything for free, they need to make money", BUT HEAR ME OUT I actually believe doing that will make them MORE MONEY. Think about it: Not having a gap into most new players first "real" purchase (either the HOT/POF Bundle OR the Elder Dragon Saga) would be such a huge deal. The amount of players I personally know who have played the entire story but have skipped LWS2 OR done it waaaay later leading to disconnect is insane.

titorye79: what's in the box? another box, what's in that box? another box....

Drow0036: I'd like to see quick play dungeons as well.

GeminiKLY: Having boons that always appear in the same spot would be so great. Would be so much easier to keep track of them

teph1256: another problem with inventory is item value.

distingishing between worthless crap, and thing you'll deeply regret getting rid off is very hard.

MyOrangeString: To be honest those are the most important things to fix! That would do so much for player retention.

cyne122: This is how you criticize things. The Internet has normalized temper tantrums, hyperbolic insults, and the inability to accept that an opinion is an opinion.

jamesstinedurf9841: would be nice to have the option to buy one bank slot seasonally with the Wizard Vault. they offered a bag space slot with the current go and i loved that. maybe general upgrades like that can be offered from time to time in the Wizard's Vault

Max_Winters: Im really surprised you didnt mention the boon system or the stacking meta

Rhumolein: Oh I like your ideas with / for the buff visibility. This is really a problem, I totally agree.

So many times I died because I can´t find or recognise the bad buff fast enough

bastien-: Boons existing at all and balance changes that stamp out fun

Unkibara: I have a problem with how much the game is tied to a schedule. If you don't play on the schedule, you're SOL or have to wait up to 2 hours. or some instances days. Metas, Raids, WvW. It's everywhere in the game

williamnathanael412: I've never seen a Lara video so fresh, and I've been binging Lara content for a year now!

matheusspable: Spells animations could be client based. Just the user can see their own animations

justinwatson2934: Agree with everything!! Not every boss should be Tequatl or the three color worm. Also some of the world bosses will put u to sleep waiting for them...shaman and fire elemental come to mind. I play a lot WvW and while the rewards are good the skirmish tickets could be better or give events for bonus tickets. Should be less account bound currencies and materials would let you help guild mates reach crafting goals quicker. Also would like to see craftable ascended jewelry. Another UI switch ..choose the character..then choose where to appear not where u left him/her last..good for people on harvesting runs or someone running late for a convergence/boss fight. Thanks for the vid

deathstar6998: I think the reason people quit at level 80 is because LW season 2 isn't free so many just lack direction with regards to the endgame, many start in Heart of Thorns and its kinda brutal there, where enemy difficulty and map difficulty ramp up a lot so people feel like they are missing something by not having LW season 2. Even post the nerfs its just not advisable to roam the maps on your own and even the story can be a bit challenging without getting your elite spec. Now MMO's are social games but a lot of people like to solo play and HOT is not simple to solo play through compared to other expacs.

It also doesn't help a lot of the game's convenience is not for free, a lot of it is gemstore items which yes you can exchange gold for, but exchanging gold for comfort will always run into the wall of, if people are uncomfortable they are going to want to play less and thus make less gold and make the items they want for comfort seem out of reach. Before I upgraded my material storage to 750, the 250 limit was agonizing that made me not want to play for more than 3 hours a day for maybe twice a week. Now days I can play for way longer and just grind for more thanks to the knowledge I can just pack more loot away. In general I feel like any comfort feature that causes players to play less because they don't have it is always a bit of a net loss. And this extends to inventory space too.

I also think they haven't been developing PVP as extensively as they have been doing for PVE. I mean there is balance adjustments but very few new maps, modes, even WvsW can feel stale unless you got a good guild to play with. I know many people don't play an MMO for the PVP but I did used to throw a couple hundred hours into it when it was all new and fresh to me even when I don't like PVP because I was curious about it and found myself enjoying for a while. So there is potential there that just hasn't been realized yet.

I know Core Tyria still has aged well in terms of Artstyle but I think some places of the core game could use a slight overhaul, like Orr itself. At least imo to give players a better introduction into endgame metas because Silverwastes and Drytop have not aged the best for this purpose imo. And very few people go to Orr outside of stories, fishing or when bones are a reward.

Hysters: I've played a lot of mmos in my time, and for the longest time, gw2 was my guilty pleasure game, something I'd pick and play for a few weeks/months and then play my main games.

GW2 has a bunch of problems, but we're at a point where other mmos just have more or bigger problems and because of that I just quit the other games and made gw2 my home for the past 6 months and have been consistently having fun.

IRockFiction: they should bring over some of the UI Customization that GW1 has. You can freely move around much of the Ui From GW1 and adjust the size of it as well.

Auriorium: Speaking of LWS2, I would love for them to go back through everything pre HOT and tweak and fix some of the instance fights.

Hidden Arcana is probably the Worst instance in game, followed by the Scruffy 2.0 fight.

Also can we have in those instance that the NPC's give us Boons? Please?

GoddessHades: I'm teaching a newbie - started last week .- and she already have the inventory problem ahahahahah

void2258: That UI for the pistol is implemented exactly like you want in reffect ([Megapack] Venny's Profession Mechanic Megapack). There is also a buffs tracker (Kaedalus-Reffect-Megapack) and an autoattack tracker is in reffect too (Tempo: Custom indicator to help finish auto-attack chains stealth/ambush). However these should be in the game itself and not need add-ons.

Di_LaraCat: Was looking forward to this video! Agree with your points, especially the boon/buff bar, and I'm optimistic at least some of them will be fixed in the future! And I can never get enough of that WoW clip

@13:12

Also: yay, I'm in the video!

GhostCastle88: On the UI comment - it’s also frustrating when icons move, with the newest popping up on the left and pushing all other buffs over one “space”. For example on Vindicator, I constantly get a buff that makes the next attack do something, and it goes away and gets reapplied. This means my icons are constantly shifting positions so I also have to track my mouse to hover and read the tooltip. A bunch of things do this, including things like legend swapping, so icons will constantly move around in that bar.

EDIT; you said this too lol.

Marinterre: Been playing 10 years, I want them to keep improving fashion. I wish the new fashion templates applied 'over' the equipment like an outfit, without affecting the equipment. Since a lot of us paid for equipment templates to use as fashion templates, it would feel better to have 2x the templates. I also want more improvements for inventory and QOL. I have so many stacks of mats in my bank and random items I don't know if I should delete. I would also love dungeon quickplay that auto teleports the party into the instance, and some new dungeons would be fun. I also wish crafting furniture for homesteads wasn't so expensive. There should be cheap items sold by vendors in each expansion. Also, if I buy furniture on the shop, I should get unlimited uses of it and not have to craft.

nathanphillipconnors: I always quit at level 80. One time I quit right after boosting a character.

MadMacII: Good points all around! Given the game is going on 15 years now, softening the rough edges would really make it shine. :)

LaHuguu: 2:36 my neuroatypical sister, I feel you so much !!
