PatrickKing-h2b: I just began playing GW2 about five days ago. I used to play WOW, but guit a while ago due the game was stale and more importantly a loud portion of the player base are kind of jerks. That is one reason finding people willing to tank for pugs is so difficult now. I have found GW2 pla6ers more willing to answer questions and help. I am not claiming everyone playing WoW are horrible or everyone in in GW2 are great, however the general tone of the population seems more friendly.

That is, the horizontal game progression changed things for me.

I only discovered both these games this year and man, it’s refreshing to finally have a place to call home that doesn’t remove content!

I started at 11 years old with my 13 year old brother from the beginning of guild wars 1 we loved it, many great childhood Memories we played all the Add-ons that released for GW1 many great years and my first MMO ever

Then GW2 I was super hyped took all my money as a teenager upgraded my pc with a new AMD GPU and pre-ordered the collectors edition of guild wars 2.

But at release the Shit started to go down.

Every time I wanted to play my Pc crashed and I couldn't make it work after 3 weeks of multiple Fresh installations of the pc, contact to support from arena net, AMD and Windows

I Gave Up!

My heart as a gamer was so broken, all my friends played but I couldn't.

Since then I watched GW 2 from the outside, played other games ....

...but always thinking, sometime I will give it another try

.....and here we Are

Started playing yesterday and my lvl 1 Characters from release are all there

And now I'm Back in Guild Wars

RichardWalkerBD: I honestly never experienced a lack of players in gw2. I've definitely noticed a lot of new players in raids in fractals tho, but overall gw2 is very active

TheLiteraryMachine: I've been a Day 1 Guild Wars 2 player, however, I only really started getting heavily into it in the last 2 years. Kinda kicking myself for not exploring it more seriously sooner. When Anet was hyping the announcement for Guild Wars 3, I admit, I was equal parts excited and nervous. I was afraid that Anet would abandon Guild Wars 2 like they originally did Guild Wars. I was reassured by Guild Wars: Reforged resurgence, but still ... I'm happy to see that Anet learned from their mistake and that Guild Wars 2 is a game that I can always come back home to.

I'm in the middle of completing a Legendary and I'm already looking to start yet another one now that I know the future is assured.

But yea you said it, people just need to trust their eyes, there are people everywhere in GW2.

And I just want to say, it’s completely okay to play multiple MMOs. I mythic raid and push keys in WoW, and play GW2 for my collections/achievement itch.

Ghost-Makr: I've been playing for about 6 days now and am seriously enjoying it. Community is very friendly and helpful. Honestly was surprised how many people were active for a MMO being 14 years old, when I first logged in. The announcement of guild wars 3 for sure spiked the interest for myself and others willing to give it a go.

sephora34: I had vaguely heard of GW2 in the past but I only started actually playing on the 5th, about a week and a half ago, cause I was rewatching Josh Strife Hayes' MMO tier list video and the way he described it sounded like it could be my kind of thing, after bouncing off several MMOs in the past. Imagine my surprise when I started playing and found out that the game had been running since 2012 and the sequel had just been announced XD

Absolutely loving it so far though, especially cause of it not having a monthly sub or a constant gear treadmill. i just hit lvl 80 with my charr ranger last night

Waiting for expansions to go back on sale to spend money, but got a lot to do before worrying about that... i do miss my Raptor though lol. Seeing Guild Wars 3 trailer reminded me i have been meaning to try out GW2 for years now.

tntori5079: I imagine gw3 brought ppl in, however me and my hubby play regularly and I hadn't noticed much change. . . Maybe I'm not in the right area? It feels the same to me which is to say - pretty dang busy. There's always been a noticable player base. I've played on and off for YEARS and between expansions too. Everytime I pick it back up there are loads of ppl .
