Shopping CartTheOneXash: something something algorithm something something
Stands-In-The-Fire: Tyria is quite a nice place... just avoid Nayos and you're good.
mharukz: 400h in but still no pants
katc7669: Thirteen year veteran here and it’s great to see your love of this game!
Will 2nd the recommendation of Super Adventure Box which should start next Tuesday. Silly fun that originally dropped waaaay back when on April Fool’s Day, came back a few months later with new levels, and then disappeared. Players begged for YEARS before they finally brought it back as a festival. Lots of skins and rewards and achievements. Tip: do regular modes first before trying the “grumpy cloud” mode (bring a sense of humor and lots of continue coins for that ).
Agree that the PvE game art is really beautiful; would add that music is so often overlooked. Great stuff. Also a huuuuge fan of WvW. Whether roaming or zerging it’s never the same thing twice.
Anyway, glad to have you as part of the community!
misterhorse8327: Someone said that GW2 is like Magic the Gathering, where you pick specific weapons, skills and traits to build out your "deck." Sure, there are some meta builds out there, but the fun is sticking to your preference and making it work.
Horrormane: GW2 has been a lifelong companion. I leave, go on with my life but I know Tyria will always be here. And she always welcome me back with open arms.
Stands-In-The-Fire: GW2 is a game that I played in the beta and at launch (my original guardian technically has a birthday that's before the official release date), but I bounced off of it multiple times. A lot of that was just down to me, I'll 100% cop to that. I kept trying to play it like the other, more traditional MMOs I was playing at the time. Because I was a Gamer, and I knew best! So it didn't click with me until I started playing more as a "Massively Multiplayer Open World Adventure" RPG. GW2 really rewards having a self-chosen long-term goal, and working towards that. There's really minimal golden-path funneling, and that can throw players. But, once it clicked for me, I love it and I keep coming back.
helium908: How is this game 14 years old?? The graphics aged so well, omg.
KhanRyugo: that sneaky "Burning into ashes" ahaha, but yeah Guild Wars 2 is one of the games I keep coming back to every now and then, the game is just that good. Downloading it as I am typing this thank you for bringing the nostalgia back in me
ImmortalityV: Always nice to see people come to their new home, welcome o7
PS: Please for the love of god go play Super adventure box when it comes out next week, either stream it or make a video. If you love retro games paired with a challenge, you will love the festival.
lexisbadatstreams2129: yay! always happy to see a new player go through the game wonder as I did when I started, 11 years ago. gw2 is a game that lets you get invested, and say invested for over a decade.
bminturn: We had 4 people in discord all doing the kitchen mastery point quest and I think that 2 of us (me being one) still don't have the mastery point. We weren't mad, though. We were cracking up the whole time. GW2 has a lot of moments like this, where maybe WoW or ESO gets you close on immersion, but not quite as good as GW2. I know that a lot of WoW players in particular might argue that, but if GW2 isn't better, it's definitely right up there in that regard.
samuraichicken2315: After ESO went to shit, GW2 became my new home too.
(Funny how a game two years older then ESO can run so smoothly!)
sospokemika1197: The only tragedy is when it comes to Guild wars 2 is that it has this amazing combat, loads of different builds and so on, but people default to meta builds. Mostly talking about PvP.
TTK is so low that certain classes can just kill you in 1-2 seconds (I am not even kidding) and depending on what you are facing, there isn't even outplay option. You just die.
Everything else is amazing. Balancing is the main issue.
CasabianN-xr5sc: Love the game.
For some reason I am good with classes that I am usually bad with in other MMOs, but horrible with classes I usually play. That hasn't changed even after all these years.
LadyMarimeya: Since you like Soulbeast (I've been ranger main since 2012 beta), you may also really enjoy Reaper. :)
Welcome and see you in Tyria!
jrovel07: Great vid! I'm currently on "a break" so I don't get burned out and it's great that I can take a break without feeling like I'm going to be starting over from scratch when I come back. Breaks for me are a month or so, just so that when I come back, it's fresh again and doesn't feel like I'm logging in to do chores like so many other MMO's but logging in, thinking "what do I want to have fun with?" and rolling w that. Playing the same thing every day can get to the point where it becomes a "job" and not fun but a drudgery you MUST log in to do and pay for that drudgery, and GW2 lets you take the time you need to keep it fun without thinking that a week off is not going to make your gaming suffer.
RobinUnknwn: Almost had me thinking you snuck and got the skyscale... then I realized you were probably in bava nisos
kotopotato: Burning into ashes... nice
rxangelxr: lets see some more pvp prog nyce
Tory-JJ: Big armor rating.
S_Sillver: Funny how i was just thinking about watching a video about Guild Wars 2 and here it is XD
Lumecron: 11:41 Made me laugh! The re-equipping of the weapon, the turning around, repositioning... Just to get good footage Great video!
RazerTNT: gw2 being so horizontal and open ended is hard to get into, but once it clicks you finally understand its value in the mmo space
skylerbrice: You seem up for a collab and the gw2 partners have some great people who can show you the ropes.
UGF22: Came back to gw2 and having a blast starting over with a necro. Tried eso but can’t get pass the easy overland enemies.
luongvuong7982: Great video . Will you try very a legendary weapon?
