DarkKnightofAnime: I’m probably gonna be in the minority to say this but in all honesty GW2 felt like the one MMO that didn’t need player housing

I don’t know why I feel this way other than it just feels a little strange

RobVespa: The main issue with the homestead system, and many other features of Guild Wars 2, is that core quality-of-life features are locked behind paid DLC and a strictly linear narrative.

Players face a frustrating dilemma: spend 150-200 hours playing through the game chronologically, or jump straight to Janthir Wilds (or whatever DLC contains the feature you'd like). Even skipping ahead forces the player to progress through content before reaching the features they want to use. The catch, of course, is that skipping exposes the player to spoilers and you meet major characters as if you already know them.

This is my largest gripe with Guild Wars 2 and ArenaNet. They've had over a decade to address this design flaw. New features could easily be introduced through standalone side quests, allowing players to access QoL features without spoiling the story or wading through unrelated content.

To my knowledge, the only concession ArenaNet has made was retroactively granting the raptor mount at level 10. I've no idea why they refused to design other features this way or why they haven't revisited them.

Mastercrafted-MCH: If you like this housing check out videos of the housing of Wildstar. This was GOAT and is still today unbeatable.

I really miss Wildstar :(

shiolle436: The problem with housing in GW2 is that it is a largely cosmetic feature that costs tons of resources you could spend on useful things instead. Maybe if you are fully donned in legendary items, you could spend some resources on housing. For me - no way in hell. Yes, I'm pretty frustrated about it.

lukebajada7751: yeah im sorry but the title is clickbait as hell. Yes Gw2 has a great player housing system but its Really not the best and it can be improved on.

I understand this is sponsored hence it has to be sugar coated but :-

1) 2000 decoration limit is seriously not enough for the ammount of plot received. it should be at least 5000.

2) giving players developer tools in a map does not equate to the best homestead ever.

3) Decorations are not dyeable. Certain decorations would Benefit greatly for a colour scheme example beds, furniture, etc.

4) Anet needs to find a way to make decorations Load faster and make you less lag.

honestly WoW has a better housing system than Gw2 and i hate that game.

Empty slot instances like ESO. (The ones without premade buildings)

Wildrose modular building where you can select a place in a wall and create a doorway there. Same with its modular roof construction.

Props with amazing graphics like BDO and ESO props.

No item limit like BDO.

Ability to freely place furniture anywhere (even into each other) like in ESO & WoW.

If I'm really dreaming... Enshrouded's water engine for housing.

Alll the while having a character creator like BDO but that allows for good looking fat bodies like the original AION.

carlosalbertocolosso2449: For me, a perfect system would be a blend of the housing options in The Elder Scrolls Online and the customization capabilities of Final Fantasy XIV, but without the need for periodic payments to use the house.
