Shopping Carthashirama8006: Mystic clover should have it's own weekly boss that could drop 5 clovers
baalmoloch4933: I think you're SPOT ON about the middle ground dopamine hits. I start to burn out pretty early into each material grind, but I love doing collections due to the fairly frequent rewards as you progress.
skulpturostone4621: Even amalg draconic lodestone is f*ing rare
sqrrlbot: Big agree, been bothered by this for a long time - the lack of middle ground rewards. Honestly the big rewards could use some different tiers too, they really are extremely rare - I've played (mainly open world metas) for 10 years and I got my very first infusion drop a few weeks ago. Especially in a game that doesn't have the gear treadmill as the carrot on the stick, it's really weird there's no mid-tier loot.
zenkoprakasa: I’ve done Octovine maybe a thousand times and I’ve never seen the infusion drop, but I got the Piñata infusion on my second attempt.
ascot7398: I wouldn't mind if they added some of the mystic coin equipment (infinite light, volcanus, triforce pendants, arachnophobia, etc) to loot tables
Iol3r: I always liked the idea you get an account bound version of the infusion if you run the event like 200 or so times with no luck.
davidvoncken1319: been playing for 9 years and yesterday I got a box of ascended weapon for the first time it was marauder tho
dewilton7712: Black lion key drops are as rare as the infusions. I have never had one drop for me in over 12 years so they need an increase drop rate too. You ideas are really good. Rare skins could be added to the drop table too at a realistic rate.
leviticusward1: No pity on infusions but chance drop for precursors on boss, that is an exciting proposition
amaterasued96: "pity" for some infusions is already in the game you can buy them via vendor, would be good thought to have more chances for mcoins/mclovers and other rare items like runes of holding etc
johnsellers5169: I never really do the metas on a regular basis. I always had a feeling of "oh thats?" it as far as loot goes ( couple unidentified items and a few mats) I just do them for the fun. But adding a mid teir item idea is great, it would add motivation to actually pay attention to the loot i get.
rumia3691: I've been so on and off with GW2 for a reason, and I never knew WHY that was the case. I've been playing mmos for thousands of hours at this point and I was never sure why gw2 never kept me (Just about to get my first legendary tonight), and after this video, I know exactly why. The drip feed of gold/materials is what causes me to burn out. I always set out a goal for myself and I chase it, but eventually I just burn out because there's nothing really that invigorates me to keep pushing me towards my next goal when I'm working towards a gold milestone or crafting milestone.
You've hit the nail on the head with this video, the loot is way too extreme in either direction and needs a middle ground. Something that makes you go "Sweet!" every once in a while between the thousands of green/blue and hundreds of yellow unidentified gear containers would feel great. The game, as you said, is already incredibly fun. The loot just needs some fixing. I think all of your solutions are fantastic but the one that stuck out to me was actually the last one. Bringing back the precursor system concept in a new way sounds like an awesome idea. The Legendary "jump start" kits are nice, but it doesn't feel
this.is.a.username: need to introduce some serious item value deflation. when hot/gen2 came out the ~500 mystic coins required for mystic tribute only cost ~40g, now it costs 800g.
Tro-zana: Agreed that something in between would be nice. The only "middle ground" items looks at gifts of aurene
mariopenulli1395: Higher value loot and less trash would also help my inventory management.
atangerinecat: Back in the day, people used to recommend doing the specialization collections for HOT ascended weapons, instead of crafting your ascended gear. But now, getting these specialization weapons are egregiously expensive. The problem is the mystic coins needed to craft the mystic weapons that's part of the specialization. Mystic coin costs needs to be balanced, as every legendary needs bundles and bundles of these
2dsaints: My man, You are absolutely right. I love playing those maps, but I'm also tired of only getting sticks and cotton as a reward. Yes, new maps have better rewards, but that defeats the meaning of the old content. Glad to see someone is addressing this because I only see people talking about class balance and why Anet hate warrior.
louddistort: We need an endless materials bank, without having to pay for more space
sylvarixreaper: ANET should Implement Mystic Clovers in the daily / weekly achievement on wizard vault 7 Clovers per Week or 5 Clovers from weekly wouldnt break economy and it would make everyone's life a lot easier specially the casual people that don't do a lot of group content
casperyap: Totally agreed. Sick and tired of 2 blue 2 green and 1 yellow unidentified item
Eurosdown: I like the idea of infusions being a rare chase cosmetic, and all they need to do is add an intermediate tier of infusions with a higher drop rate that, if equipped together, will give the effect of the super rare one.
For example, the super rare infusion "Aquatic Majesty" has 3 components, a blue glow, a watery shimmer, and a bubble effect emanating from the character. Then there's the more common "Aquatic Grandeur" infusion, which if equipped will give one of the 3 effects, and as you slot in more, the other effects are added on, so 3 Grandeurs = 1 Majesty. This gives players the ability to work toward the super rare item (or its equivalent) in a more approachable way (assuming reasonable drop rates).
Lannachi: The runes of holding from convergences fit what you are describing pretty well
highsun: I like the pity system or target drop system since you could just bind it to a Boss Achievement - '0/100' kills, Infinite (repeatable). The dopamine doesn't hit the same but still a pity system is a standard setup in gacha games. Or Having a Wizard multi-week system where you could target those mid-tier infusions with a no trade tag. This would prevent any fear econ team might have with massive influx of exploits from bots or whatever trying to cash in. System could require you to finish the weekly 5 times (or whatever) to get the item, which then tacks on to the normal draw to keep players logging in and respects a player's choice of sPvp, WvW, PvE (allowing pvper's to still get the infusion and no longer having to spent time on PvE metas they don't care about). Also if they want to just break the game, they can add Gift of Battle to the system and watch the world burn :)
snowdropfox5754: Account bound pity Infusions per xxx Runs. Infusion drops would still retain value yet not exceed 10k gold (like multiple infusions do on a frequent basis).
If this crashes the infusion market to hard, change all infusion drops to bind on equip to boost the rarity artificially. Change values when appropriate.
Also add Amalgamated Draconic Lodestones and/or Mystic Coins/Clovers to metas which are frequently ignored by the community, i.e. PoF.
