march638: I think I agree with your response to an extent.

I do miss the coziness of the early personal stories (especially Human). And the “cozy” parts of the newer stories have been my favorite part - for example the intro to SoTo with the journalist or the spying mission at the start. And yes, the beginning of VoE in LA and Rata Sum. I wish we got more of that.

torreyrg42: When Soto released, I knew I was going for the armor, so I did the weekly rift hunts and weekly convergences each week from launch. No extra grinding, no using motivations, just the 5 rifts per active map and 3 convergences each week. In the 5-6 months from launch Soto to when the armor was craftable I had enough of the rift essence to fully craft two armor weights. I needed to grind out a few map comps in nayos when that was the last bit.

The suffused collection can be done alongside crafting the armors and there is a good deal of overlap in goals so there is good synergy in crafting the armor and doing the suffused skins at the same time. When I had suffused the first two sets I had enough mats to make a third set and did the suffusing along side making that last part.

Mathematically just by doing 3 nayos convergences each week and three balrior convergences each week the 5 T1 rifts per week in the now 12 maps that contain rifts you will have more than enough essence to make the 12 amalgamated essence rift essence needed to make one armor piece. So basically without grinding it’s 1 part per week. It does take 300-500 ecto per week but that is much easier now with the mirror farm.

Right now the most grindy part of the Soto armor is that each part does require a gift of research so 18 total gifts of research for a full set of obsidian armor. Personally I used all my ascended gear to make research notes and I had enough to make 16 of the 18 I needed. But I had 13 characters with 1-3 full sets of ascended gear at the time.

ShoppingStew: I love the dragon response missions as a format. The idea of defending ebonhawke or nebo terrace from a proper assault or getting to explore some of the more remote areas through hand authored ’quests’ was exciting to me. It almost felt like playing star wars battlefront or lotr conquest to me, especially if you were playing with less than a full party. That being said, I have to note that I was very much taking a more casual approach to them and sort of rping the whole thing, I’m sure the content could be absolutely trivialized by a full meta approach. Still, the concept or whatever felt very exciting to me, almost like having fairly engaging and challenging side quests.
