snowdropfox5754: A-Net should be asking for Absolution after this release.
awakenedBanana: The fact that they haven't said anything official about working on another project is crazy. At this point, it looks like Anet has less than half of their employees working on gw2 and they are reusing assets, because the people that actually worked on new assets are working on another project.
BlackBarett: Havent played the new content much but:
- new map is small and kinda meh
- I dont really enjoy the meta
- story was short and unexciting to me
- missing voice-acting really took me out if it
Wizards Vault refresh is always nice though. Also excited for new skins and QoL stuff.
New mastery should also give me 2% WvW Reward Track Gain if I read that right, so - yey!
BundyBro_: I think the best thing about this patch is that its just finally over. I really hope theyre cooking something good for future updates because I dont see GW2 thriving much longer after this. And by that I dont mean it will be shut down. Just wont thrive. Being irrelevant is worse than being dead, IMO.
Just_Joe4U: Story in JW was garbage: the pacing was all over the place, the titans as villains were boring and their goals well, i still don't know what they wanted to achieve; the characterization in general in the story is awful as well for very single character; whoever is in charge of story writing should get fired 'coz this was a terrible job. The meta i don't hate it but i can see why others do, the map doesn't feel like a living city/titan just feels like another normal map, the masteries are trash, IBS level trash. The convergences aren't bad but Ura is ridiculous; at least with SOTO we have 2 easy, 2 medium and 2 hard difficulty bosses but in JW convergence all we have is 1 annoying and 2 easy. I liked the fractal but a second boss would have been nice to have. The fact that they kept using Greer, Ura and Decima for every big boss fight in convergence, raid and OW (except the Bog Queen) shows they went the SUPER lazy path; they could/should have made different Titans to use those in the OW, then different ones for Convergences and the 3 main ones for Raids but killing the same 3 idiots over and over and over again...yeah, they ruined any and all sense of threat from them as story enemies and bosses. The legendaries: is cool to have more but the backpack skin is ugly af imo, good thing i already have ad inf so i don't have to bother with it. All in all, JW for me is a 5/10.
Iriesu: Love how thorough and rational your feedback is, thanks for releasing this in sync with my morning coffee :D
ChimpOnComputer: I kind of expected it to be a but underwhelming. I've not even delved into it yet, but I'm right about to, and I'm just not attached to these maps other than maybe the first map of Janthir. Other than that it's sorta eeeh. I really hope im wrong about them just riding out the remaining playerbase and trying to get as much as they can from them with little to lower effort. I love this game it's sad, all the other games I liked died the same.
DiscoPrime123: I have no way to confirm this, it's just my hare brained theory but I feel like Arenanet has diverted resources to secretly working on GW3. The last few installments seem almost hollow in scope when compared to previous expansions.
MichaelPerlmanjr: The expac felt unfinished and story was poorly ended and we barely get anything
recon78: I agree with all your points but the way I look at it is that even if I don't engage with anything post-EoD I still have so much left to do. Strikes/Fractals/Raids, WvW/PvP, more gen 3 legendaries, leggy trinkets etc. The only really big thing I've grinded out was full Obsidian and enough gold to outright buy 8 legendaries and craft 3 more. If this was WoW/FFXIV (combined ~2.5k hours) then I'd be looking at £150-200 per year each and a lot of their old content isn't especially worth doing or downright obsolete (outside of skins/pets/achievements). To play current content I'd be having to keep up with the latest ilvl. Here I get unlimited playtime for roughly 2 months of sub fees and all my current gear just works. If I cared about the story then I could see myself being a lot more negative but thankfully I'm a gameplay main.
AH-ut8uv: Anet has been reusing and recycling content for years. Reused animations, reused annual events, reused enemies, reused mechanics, etc. I was already apprehensive about this years ago, only to be told to stfu. Now the community is finally feeling? Too little too late.
pierrengu: The initial release of both recent expansions have been good. However, the post patches have definitely been lacklustre, they might have to rethink the every 3 month release to give bigger chunks of content. I've been more excited for balance patches tbh lol. Hopefully the delay on the next expansion will help them find their footing a bit better. I've been enjoying playing a few hours a week as my second game
daveross37: The meta feels backwards. The big boss should be at the end. The story was weak, and the masteries are underwhelming and felt tag on. The map need a few more air jets.
kevinwilby5637: i dont mind the map but i agreethe missions are really poor . the story line is absolutely crap and they are slowly damaging the games standing . jmo
TrevorFullbright: Overall: decent but didn;t live up to my hopes
Map,: like it. Good JP, I think the size is good with it's verticality.
Meta: Starts strong but really needs a finally. If they just brought the new boss back at the end again for a final show down or something it would be great.
Kinfall: I like it personally. Good length to be a fun run. Waiting for CM to see how it goes.
CM convergence: good, but there needs to be a fail mechanic to give urgency and a reason to do more than bonk boss
QOL: People complain about them, but I like the gobbler/tome. I think that was great. I wish gemstore stuff was added too, but I understand it not being there
Masteries: the homestead buff is awesome, but otherwise meh.
Backpack: I haven't made it, but I'm glad it's in there and I plan to make it. Now they need a ring in the next xpac
Story: a big let down. I just wish there was a big final fight.
clickbait-g4o: I'm new to this game and used to other monetization methods, so I might be mistaken here, but I don't get the amount of hatred
gabrielpelegrini6135: the final boss of janthir wilds is Blisters skull emoji
lordgrave57: I ha e all classes and had all expansions for years still in Tyra lol. Tbf I love Wvw from old days. I came back a month ago to tinally get beetle mount after having synthetic skin sunce release just could never use it till now.
myselfme767: I think some people don't like it, because the patch is smaller and there aren't so many new stuff, but if it was bigger then we'd have to wait longer and people would complain about that...
Banshee911: The whole update was meh. I made the backpack day one . I was lucky because I am heavily flush with ingredients for my chef from gathering with vm gathering tools daily for years. So I had all the ingredients and recipes. But now that I have everything, I really don’t want to play the content again. It was so disappointing on so many levels and I agree with your assessment overall.
I do want to point out that the homestead mastery buffed the rested bonus for pvp, wvw, and open world at the final level. So that’s nice….every little bonus helps.
fatmanpez: I wouldn't mind the ending to this Expansion if it had a nice cutscene or something and overall ended just a little more climatically, doesn't need to be a fancy one but something just showing something and I'd be ok with it but it was disappointing how it ended overall because the battles at the end of the first and third parts were great, this was just sort of disappointing. I'm not against a smaller expansion model if it ends me leaving satisfied, old Mmos like Everquest, FFXI and Lotro have a whole Library of expansions and Gw2 is getting to that point if you count all the Living World and Icebrood Saga in the mix but it's just about feeling like each part had a decent run start to finish, if Gw2 introduced an expansion taking place 100% in Core Maps but the story was good and I felt like it was $25 well spent I'd be happy.
Hello-es4qm: Excuse me Syrma, based on your opinion what is the current best class or elite specialization for every mode?
Like your video and thank you so much
cameirusisu1024: Just this patch?
zone - tbh I find it boring, its got a decent amount of events, but its confusing and lacks any real character or identity, its just rubbly mess.
meta - started strong, boss fight is excellent. Then just descends into an anticlimatic 3 land attack structures lameness. It should end i a big confrontation.
Fractal - its ok, I like longer ones, but this is fine, at least its not a mai trin style loot room. its also too easy.
story - meh, not awful, I personally dont like the "twist" but overall its ok, but just feels rushed
in fact, you can label the entire patch (and expansion) that, feels rushed and unfinished. They need to plan stuff out over at least 3 of these yearly expansions if this is the model going forward. because right now, its not working.
no new strike is a big miss for me. Strikes are content I do most days, certainly every week, its repeatable, well consumed content a significant portion of the playerbase does (unlike raids), so no new strike is a big disappointment.
hilding2063: As casual player and father, is going to take me years to complete the content
patrickhaley1312: It's event driven and the events are bad lol
