You asked if Id ever return to WoW..

deminisis: WOW changed. People changed. Gaming changed.

vareion: Happy to see that you liked my video!

nathanjwriting: Honestly he did what many gaming content creators fail to do which is escape the sinking ship that made them popular in the first place. Had he stayed with WOW and didn’t branch out to other things, I don’t think he would be as big as he is today.

When a content creator is only known for the single game they play, they often eventually fade into obscurity when the game’s popularity inevitably dies down. But the dilemma for these creators is that moving onto other things is also a very difficult and risky move to pull off.

WISP_PRIME: almost forgot Asmon headbutted the keyboard

RickOfNazareth: Tyler1 said it best during only fangs. “Nobody wants to watch you guys min max every raid.”

Frankthetank302: Legion was 9 years ago..... I feel so old

aoihitori: The entire history of WoW reflect the changes of the Entertainment Industry.

From freedom of creativity and Fiction into devoid of creative ideas and extention of writer's reality and political beliefs.

asddasasdful: The best part about WoW for me was the 'World' part of WoW. Leveling, questing, doing dungeons with random people you meet out in the world, that hasn't changed for me, still love classic.

Koukafaka: Replayed that head-desk a few times lmao

Meerkitten: I have always turned to WoW as a source used to unwind/relax, but lately, it’s been adding to the very stress I’m trying to avoid.

Joon-qu4dy: Remember, you don't have to play the game that is not enjoyable.

ttwi57edd: Not playing WoW is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

WickeD-of-Oz: I've come to a point in my gaming life to where screen clutter in games is becoming more and more so and its completely aggravating.

Cirkelo: Asmon did wow with perfect amount of drama, lack of skill, and tons of knowledge about worthless shit. Who else can make a 2 hour transmog contest the most entertaining thing ever!

fracturedraptor7846: He quit for the same reasons I and millions of other people quit. Blizzard stop asking " Is this fun? " or " Will this make people want to play? ". Instead they corporatized the game and kept dumbing it down. Everything was time gated to artificially bump playtime metrics. Useless systems were created to waste time, like the necklace bullshit in BFA. Even grinding rep was time gated. In their quest to stroke their little pecker in front of investors they killed their game. I'm not paying a subscription to play a game that feels like chores. I work forty hours a week. I play games to have fun, to relax. I don't mind grinding for gear to do a raid but the rest of the crap is just needless and it's beyond boring.

FreedomEagleROK: Asmon gave up on wow when his mom passed. You could tell those two shared so much beautiful mutual experiences from that game. It will never be the same without being able to go tell his mom what mount dropped for him finally.

joshgaston7839: It's no longer a game. It's a job and a chore.

Classic wow had no meta, no min max, no knowledge of anything. You can never get that back unless you ban online content that exposes every aspect of your game.

The Internet was a different place back in 2005

19justinlambert82: Literally Asmon agreeing with himself for almost 30 minutes

BackToTheFort: Imagine how good WoW would be if instead of charging $100 for mounts they simply create a hard fucking quest to get the mount. When will they learn?

afaydilek: bro where is the Cata story stream its been 4 years

MrSkillcap: It's sad to see what wow has become. Looking back at classic you can see how inspired it was by TTRPGs like dungeons and dragons, how much of it was about exploring the world with your friends andfinding new places and enemies together. Even now in anniversary servers i discover places i haven't seen while dadgaming and leveling with friends. It's insane how retail has been overdesigned to the point where it's pretending to be an e-sport game, minmaxing dungeons from a queue like system, every single point of interest on the map is marked or shown off by a quest because "well we made it so we have to make sure players see it so it doesn't go to waste".

alisonanthony1228: This is why I play solo. I can pootle about doing what I want, when I want with no pressure from anyone else. I run the occasional dungeon, when I feel like it, but don't raid, don't join a guild, don't really interact with other players at all. If I'm not enjoying something, I walk away from it and spend some time wandering about a city or sitting by a lake, fishing. I don't really care about playing M or getting the top tier sets or being the bestest Warlock evah. I'm quite happy trundling about with an item lvl of 650, doing delves, world quests and hitting things for a few hours a day. It's my hobby, not my job!

savantus1: What killed it for me was realizing how bored I was doing the dailies for some reason every day amongst other craft related farming and the raiding guild I was with imploded in cataclysm.

TheOrangekey: Blizzard be like: What our story sucks? Hold our beer

*Flying crippled Khadgar in his magical wheelchair appears"

Blizzard: What thats not enough to convince you?

Black half blinden and also crippled Lesbian protagonist appears with her long time nemesis grey haired Karen

Party4Lemons: The serialisation of content in WoW is a huge issue. We're essentially getting the same thing every expansion with a new skin at the same relentless pace.

Add to that the fact that the stories being told since Legion are just boring and don't make much sense and Blizzard make it really hard to care about the content they do push out.

Malohta: I played WoW for around 3 years. When I realized people want to raid daily once they max level, I realized I started a guild for the worst reason. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and make friends.

You don't have friends when you're Guildmaster, only guildmates who like you because of what you are, not who you are.
