willhem5668: You and Jediwarlock have become my favourite WoW small content creators
bigbigx2250: the original design really reminds me of the raids that everquest had, which is presumably what the designers were basing it off of. places like the plane of sky or the temple of veeshan come to mind
Halibel764: The Netherspace was my favourite place in WoW I am glad you found pieces of information about it !
wardenm: At the start of "War Within", Atiesh, staff of Medievh, gets shattered. Just as it was first found by players in the Vanilla Naxxramas raid. Would LOVE to see it reintroduced in a future raid, then going back to Karazhan or the crypts in some fashion to reassemble it, particularly for whatever fight awaits in The Last Titan.
sovereignelise: Love this dive as always! I’m so glad you mentioned the SoD Crypts too!
Karazhan is one of those places I wish the Bronze Dragonflight would let us go see back in its prime. Imagine getting to do a spy-thriller esque questline with our bronze dragon friends during a high society upscale Medivh Party.
(You already know what I’m gonna say about your pronunciation haha, but I won’t hound you too much.)
Can’t wait for the next one <3
killwind: Ok, the name splash screen after the intro is very effective.
darkphilosopher8726: I much prefer the exterior appearance we got in the end over what they were considering. It is a shame that one of the most interesting locations in game got cut down so much before being put out there for us to play. I can see why it had so many stairs but I think they could have worked around that by either redesigning the exterior to create a shape that was more cooperative with the dungeon they wanted or keep it as a tower but redesign the raid layout around the idea of pocket dimensions since it's such a highly magical place, think the wardrobe in Chronicles of Narnia. So many ways they could have done it that would have kept the originally intended amount of content if they were just willing to change a few things or break it up just a little bit more... Oh well. At least they aren't letting it entirely go to waste and hopefully this trend of re-exploring/developing old content continues with them slowly building up to the best Karazhan it can be!
Personally, I think they should have made the area into a two winged mansion with a tower reaching high into the sky in the center back. Each its own raid with their being a left wing, a right wing and a main tower. That would even have left a potential basement area which could have been made into its own raid or just perhaps a introductory dungeon.
DaveDavis-f9w: And decapitated.
Medivh was also decapitated.
morp9214: great video, thank you for making this. makes me appreciate karazhan even more than i already did!
never in my dreams could I have imagined there would be a second raid within a raid. what could have been?!?!
Wepospalient: I've been into cut content and out of bounds secrets in wow since I was shown the ironforge airstrip all the way back in vanilla. Love to see content creators still diving into this stuff all these years later!
Yog-Speggoth: The Legion rock at the top of Kharazan?? Crazy. Awesome vid as usual. :)
boofenious: A second legion raid at the end of Kara raid sounds so insanely cool! Bliz should develop that as new content for Classic just like SE in Sod! We already got the crypts, put the tower raid in the game and make the battle with the Legion!!!
ShellYoung: Change the tone, nerd
jameshill2450: If there is any place in the history of WoW lore that deserves to be "too big" it's Karazhan. Medivh is probably the most important character in the universe; the only reason he didn't factor more into WoW is that it was very much canon that he was long dead so it's hard to really have him in the story, so the main character was Thrall. But Medivh is responsible for all the biggest events in the world (besides the literal Sundering) - he opened the Dark Portal; he was possessed by the spirit of Sargeras to attract the Legion; he orchestrated the events of WC3 to guide all the factions independently towards defeating Archimonde and saving the world, putting in motion the relationships that would become the Alliance and Horde.
nyoin2028: The smiley face was put there due to a skip you could use to get to the portal without attuning and blizz giving the okay.
belowthestoneofficial1476: Thank you for all the uploads <3 love seeing this stuff as a game dev, keeps me inspired
KevinArcade87: Afaik the smiley was put there by another dev who knew Staats was frustrated by Karazhan to remember him to keep smiling
glamourandgloom: yeah i liked this original Netherspace, than the Legion one. there was sort of unspoken mystery here, a space inbetween. sort of like Pandemonium wastelands from D3 where demons and time-lost entites were stuck and forgotten, in their abandonment they grew insane, their chaotic essence fraying and fizzling. Once legion now feral embers, twisted and hungry.
KevinArcade87: The peak of Karazhan was also supposed to connect to a mirror version of itself where you'd go through a upside down version of itself. I suppose they reused this idea in Shadowlands where ICC's peak connect to Shadowlands
Just-J-10: Splitting it into three 3 raids of progressive difficulty or gear rating would have been good. Ideally, 3 separate raid IDs as well. It would have been easier on player's hardware back in the day. Instead of one giant instance with 3 raids in it.
bobhammer8993: I know this history but it's fun to revisit what I yearn for all those years ago
Jozztime: Oooo new wow creator
PreBCFan1: liked and subscribed
jonathan6578: amazing video. karazhan is my favorite raid. the dungeon was cool but its nothing compared to the raid. but as your vid proves there is a lot still to be discovered in the tower. too much has been cut and now with SoD KZ crypts finaly made whole. the groundwork has been laid to fully make use of the tower in classic and i cant wait for that to happen. i doubt they will reuse it once more in retail. i think that would be overkill using it for a 3rd time wether they make it a new raid or a dungeon again. the tower has knowledge and lots of it but power wise if it still had a lot of power left then xal'atath would have come for it already. but it only gets its power from being on leylines and unless she can tap into that and suck all the power out of those she would have done so already but it seems she cant. and even if she could if that means the destruction of the tower like dalaran when she sucked all that power up then no ty then she can stay as far away from KZ as possible in my eyes :D
