manio22: There is even a boss in AQ20 in classic, where warlocks, priests and hunters have to constantly drain its mana bar, because if it reaches 100% it basically wipes the raid.

BasketChase98: Warlock’s mana drain was worse than hunters imo. Hunters didn’t get mana back they just depleted yours faster. In tbc every arena fight wound up just being the two warlocks on each side draining each other’s mana over and over and cycling through their cooldowns until one of them made a mistake.

timothybell5698: On a server I used to play on there was this guild leader called Frenzy who used to fill out his raid with PUGs, he was kind of well known because progression guilds would do stuff like zg and aq20 during off peak because they were less of a priority, so if you had school or work you'd usually have to miss out on guild zg and aq20. Meanwhile, Frenzy was struggling to fill out 40 man raids, his guild would kill ony maybe once a month, and he was infamous for wiping on MC trash, but we liked him enough, and didn't mind filling in spots for his 20 mans --- especially since he would do them on the weekend when we were all available. Anyway, the most frustrating thing about Frenzy was his insistence that every mob with a mana pool had to be drained to zero. This was actually completely necessary for some bosses, I remember one boss in aq20 did massive aoe damage if their mana pool hit 100%, so it was very important to keep that boss drained. But with Frenzy? You would have every warlock using drain mana, every priest using mana burn, every hunter keeping viper sting up, just to drain the bosses mana before we finally burst him down. People would point out to him that by the time some bosses had their mana drained they were on 5% health, and the fact warlock shadowbolts would have downed the boss in less time than it took to drain its mana to zero. This didn't matter to Frenzy, people would get into arguments with him about it, people would rage quit his raids, try to sneakily do dps instead (and then usually get kicked for not following his directions, or at the very least scolded). We all speculated what his deal was, whether maybe he was OCD or had autism or something. Crazy times.
