Shopping CartTheCcrack: people will spend over an hour in queue, kicking part members and replacing them, so they can clear the dungeon 2 minutes faster
Noxmare: Labor market and HR mentality: "You definitely need 5 years of experience for this junior position here."
kurtl8425: If two people are running towards a herb the person getting there first didn’t “steal” it from the other. However if a player is killing a mob guarding that herb and you grab it while they’re in combat then you’re being a douche.
HobbyGame-83: Yesterday I did a mythic dungeon and i played as a tank , i had 2 toxic noobs on my team who were dying all the time because they didn't know how to move in the boss fight and kept blaming me all time. At the last boss they died early, and the healer didn't want to revive them anymore and we wanted to show them that we can do the last boss in only 3 players.
robertcarlyle4946: take away all add ons and see how good these "elite" players are
gamestory2834: As someone who played from 2005 on, it started slightly but understandably in TBC in heroics, then escalated through WotLK with a somewhat lessening with the Dungeon finder. But it really hit in once Cats hit and dungeons became harder again and people just broke overall.
I speedran to lvl 85 and people just couldn't handle the harder heroics, leading to an absolute mess and groups falling apart. No one had the patience to solve things together. Completely different to how it was in vanilla. Gear score really hit in during WotLK leading to people treating the game as a chore or a treadmill.
yLLy_T: One particular m experience I will never forget:
I tanked 15, it was Sanguine affix. Healer shaman kept using stun totem on trash-packs just before one of them died, and the rest of trash started healing rapidly. Trash couldn't follow me pulling them out of Sanguine pool because they were stunned.
After like 5 times of this happening, I told the healer to quit using stun totem, because it's Sanguine. Healer replied that I should be thankful for the stuns. Rest of the group agreed with the healer, that I am just a bad tank.
That was my last drop and I never played m again.
grijzejager12: That is why you play with friends and in a guild. It alleviates most of these problems
Asturias14: Yo Asmongold, why the silly brit accent?
endofexistence2149: I logged into retail wow and this npc talking head starts yelling at me about this threat approaching.
I just wanted to catch a big fish but she was relentless about me joining the war! Such toxic behavior gosh
Keveozen: How come the herb is stolen by someone that got there a little bit faster, what makes that herb yours and not theirs ?
nathanphillipconnors: I can't wait for Classic to come out and all these people you're talking about to suck all the fun and joy out of it.
Minkmiester: British Asmongold strikes again
wendycrescent: 2:18 It's very funny you mention this because it is so true. In TWW I COULD NOT get into a random group as a hunter. I had 2.5K M score but I was rejected because Survival hunter, I was even told to "play a proper spec". In Midnight I am struggling to get into dungeons at times as a healer. Meanwhile I play with my friend and I went from a 2 all the way to timing 2 10s at 235 ilevel. Like... M not that hard you need all these meta comps and shit until you his the really high levels. And even then, the "God Comps" as they are called are for insecure losers who can't play and need to follow the meta or its wrong. I get that it is Ironic that I talk about these people in a toxic way... but they ruined the fun in the game of doing stuff with strangers.
RobertF703: A ran a Ulda group as a priest healer. Healed about 70% of the dungeon without issue but I noticed the tank never stopped moving (I understand this is normal nowadays). I needed to rebuff fort/spirit but couldn't safely do it between pulls due to the sheer amount of mana cost and safely being able to keep pulling and healing. I asked the tank if he could stop for a minute after next pull for rebuff. He never said a word and kept going. I asked again and nothing. One of the melee dps told me to stop being a bitch and just buff. I instantly dropped group and hearth. I understand people are experts at this game nowadays and I probably could have gotten away with rebuff during the pulls or not rebuffing at all. But it was the fact the tank didn't care and the dps was just rude. It's a game and all I wanted to do was have a buff and mana break. Anyways the dps that called me names was whispering racist/homophobic crap to me. I blocked him and refuse to heal for tanks that don't communicate anymore.
LordNEG: What got me over the years is friendships in WoW unless you're lucky or on RP servers are very artificial if there's even the slightest hint of competive elitism within the group content. I tanked for 2 expansions, barely missed any raid runs, always bantered and tried to get to know people. I switch to DPS the next expansion and get kicked without a word 2-3 months in, assumably because I didn't care about metres, logs or optimal button presses/talent specs, and I never will.
The guild advertised and pretended it doesn't care about such things, but alas they did. Variations of this story has happened to me since playing all the way from vanilla, the number of true friends I've made I can count on one hand, and they're mostly still from pre-Cataclysm.
koro527: 1:36 I was always a confident tank, observing my group to see how much or how little I should pull. The group overall decided the pace. But this Optimal route bullshit annoys the hell out of me. They need to start making dungeons like scarlet Lib/armory lol.
ladylynxelot9925: If you judge your parse by DPS as a healer, you're going to be found out in a split second.
If you judge HPS parse as a healer, you already shot yourrself by the outset.
DPS parsing is a way to hone yourself, sharpen your skill, learn what you do wrong. - Or it is the awareness that people cheesed.
Good players know the difference.
Bad players will mind-numbingly hunt numbers that mean nothing.
JayFunningham: As an outsider who's never played a single dungeon in an MMO, it's like watching people logging on a to complete a job they hate but can't leave.
derFritzbube: im a vanilla closed beta Player, and to see what people have turned wow into... Its sad, and especially sad for all of you guys that you can never experience what we did 2004-2005, on the other hand you all did it to yourself, you wanted this, laughed at People who noticed a change when everthing was normal.
There was a very short time at the beginning of classic (2-3 weeks) which felt a bit like back then, but that was killed very fast. Good job guys
bubbadumps3747: Tbc ruined the magic. It gameified everything into virtual casinos, rep grinds, gear priority etc
Before tbc there was a much larger population of people playing the game like it was meant to be played.
A role playing game. Playing characters in a fictional world.
not bootyblaster69 complaining in his 10th dungeon that day. Normies ruin literally every single thing they get their grubby hands on
CatBack94: Warlock 99 parse
Uses shadowbolt
DanielCoffey67: Talking of the incident where that second group came upon yours just as you were about to pull, it is possible to have the opposite experience.
In Classic in Alterac Mts there is the multi-floor tower with the named Ogre at the top. He is the boss at the end of a long quest chain. While it is soloable, it is best done with a buddy. I was working my way up the floors and realised from about the second floor upwards the mobs were dead or just about to respawn. That meant there was someone inside with me. I got to the penultimate floor and saw an Alliance pair of low leveled players making their way to the final staircase to the boss room. I was there solo on my Horde Hunter and knew I could solo the encounter. I knew they needed to clear a group of 3 casters first.
They saw me and of course could not talk so I decided to play nice. I sat down behind them and waited. They got up and tagged the casters waiting above the stairs. Once they had aggro I stood, sent in the pet and finished of that group with them then sat down again. They rested, went to the top and pulled the boss and again I waited then assisted. Once they had their kill, I got /thanked and they left. All I had to do was wait 5 mins for the respawn but as I did I heard commotion of a new group coming up the stairs. More Alliance as it turned out. As far as I was concerned, this next Boss was mine so it was a Trap on his exact spawn point. They came up the last stairs right behind me just as the boss spawned and boom, trap went off and he was mine!
I did stay to help them with their respawn before leaving but I got the feeling they were not that impressed I had been waiting there.
StabbyTabby-b5k: Never been a fan of top 0,1% mentality, but I feel the same about people playing competitive mode, and hiding behind the "I'm just a casual" sticker. The game have a great learning curve on retail, from HC dungeons, through M0 to M dungeons. The secret tech of pugging that you don't give a flying sh*t about others opinion. Anyone who usually more invested in other's gameplay than theirs, usually have a lot to learn/hide.
marjolycookie: dispel world buffs? way more fun just mcing alliance into the lava of brm lol
Twistedstar0320: I had someone run up and start mining an iron mode that I was currently mining. He turned off auto loot so it just sat there with the loot window up effectivly cutting me off from being able to mine it again and he just sat there. I said, "Are you serious?" And he just said, "yep" and I had to run off and he stole the rest of it from me.
cougar-town: I've encountered way worse than this, from fake rumors of me being a ninja looter which was easily disproved, because some russians wanted to spread fake info about me on Reddit so I had to DMCA takedown them for it. It was all very dramatic for no reason. All the dungeons I do, all the loot is distributed according the standard rules by need or greed we all know this, yet these russians wanted to basically blame game players for no apparent reason just to anger people and they did a very good job at it. They've kept going with this for a really long time even to this day and onwards, among many other people of course, it's not just russians that are like that. It's just sad that we all have to deal with it. If someone really needed on a item it wouldn't be the end of the world. I've even skipped on items that I need just so others can get the item before me, so I'm a nice person for doing that. Yet people want to spread lies and fake information about players about them being ninja looters when infact there is no ninja looting going on at all, it's just to make players look bad and get them onto peoples "blacklists" which is very funny now that I think of it. Why do people have blacklists anyway, there is no point. People will ninja loot regardless if they ever did decide to do that. I personally don't ninja loot, so I am very confused what people are saying about ninja looting. If someone need a item then they need a item as long as it is for their class, it is not a ninja loot, it's just common sense. If a item is reserved then they can obviously say that and reserve the item in a group of friends, which is the only ideal option to be honest. Expecting others to play by others rules is not possible, at least, it's a high risk players will have to just endure. Sadly this is just how it is in World of Warcraft. People tend to get really angry over a PC game. Even though they don't have to be angry, they just get annoyed because their progress is slowed down by other players, which makes sense because that is happening all of the time.
But then of course, there's the other types of players that are downright evil. The people who don't invite players to groups, swear at other players and being totally ignorant and acting in disrespectful ways towards a player in the group and starting problems that really shouldn't be happening but it does occur everytime I play the game, people just cannot get along due to political differences, loot policy differences, or just for being different, or other reasons and factors, it's just a cess pool of pure hatred and mass toxicity that I haven't experienced in all my life playing World of Warcraft. I guess people don't have a life? haha, people do not want to be respectful towards others so they can live in the filth they create for themselves, no one wants to play with toxic assholes. That's at least the positive outcome of all this, we don't have to endure these toxic people we can just ignore and put them on global ignore list addon, so yeah. It is always a quick solution to all the problems when playing with evil individuals online in World of Warcraft regardless if it's retail or classic version it will happen anywhere, I can bet on it. It's not easy to find nice players to do dungeons with or any content with for that matter. So I've pretty much given up on that, raiding in classic is not possible because of the discrimination and hostile environment that is always ever present. It's like entering a warzone. That's typically how I would describe it.
