igggaming9871: The problem with this interpretation of 'WoW 2' is that it inherits a lot of tech debt, and bad decisions that can never be removed from the game without a totally new iteration. You can make the existing game better, but there are certain decisions that were made in the past that can never be undone, either because of community expectation (The game has simply become too hard, but making it easier would be deeply unpopular to core communities in the game that have grown used to it), bag slot limitations, bad decisions (The WoW token for example, which certainly makes them a lot of money, but ruins the integrity of the ingame economy), and so on.

3allz: WoW has been constantly making slow changes to its infrastructure and framework for years. I think Ion himself has even said that we're kinda actually already on "WoW 3". Cata would've been considered WoW 2 with its massive change to the world and engine, and perhaps Shadowlands/DF was WoW 3. So yes, we're heading into a future where WoW will be fundamentally different 10 years from now to what it is today, but thats nothing new.

Also, the idea of "no loading" comes from the fact you had massive continents in EK and Kalimdor that you could go from zone to zone without any loading screens. Back in 2004, that was revolutionary and no other game of this scope had that. Going anywhere would take a while before you'd get one (into an instance or crossing the sea). Modern WoW, you're taking portals everywhere and getting a loading screen every 10-30 minutes. The world doesnt feel like a "world" any more lol.

DougTrimadol: Azeroth goes boom everyone dies but you go through a portal or some shit smack your head and forget everything (and I mean everything becomes irrelevant and gone) with this way you can rebuild classes and have everything literally built from the ground up again could make it where all the races are moved to being "old" and can't be new toons made with the "old" races so people can keep their toons in this new "world" and they can keep mounts but you forget how to fly or keep flying you lose literally everything else except for transmog and mounts and then it becomes "wow 2"
