Why I Quit Raiding World of Warcraft

BKBK-yo1zz: My issue is the gear reset every 6 months.

It sucks losing progress like that the only time they should reset your gear is when a new expansion drops

NK-wl6bl: Spot on and why I don't do much end game content anymore.

KevinG9012: Totally agree man. Raiding just takes too long.

SirDrayceRP: This is one of the reasons I went back to play Classic Anniversary. I had never touched Classic before but the simplicity and lack of grinding I really like. Like you said, I can jump into dungeons, get the best gear I can, then go Raid.

briceps1: Raiding makes wow feel like work to me. Scheduling game time also is cringe to me. I want to play game when i feel like it and i dont want to have an obligation to play a game

Mikero78: Yeah, too much farming. I'd rather gear quick and play alts as well. I used to play 4-6 toons back in the good ole days. I now have 1 main 681 and my 2nd toon 675. Can't be asked to play a 3rd or fourth.

godfathery2kgaming324: Never thought of it like that, but it is true, except for me. But everyone comes into raid with the M gear just to try and beat logs in Raid. It is less than the chance of getting BIS gear from raid rather than beating logs.

Titan.Fox56: I watched this live last night when Soul talked about why he doesn't raid. If I was in my early 20's I would once again get into high tier raiding again but sense I'm not I just don't have the time nor the patience to do raiding anymore. Wasting 4-5 hours on ONE dam boss where people somehow someway keep fucking up the most BASIC mechanic it just gets frustrating and honestly a waste of time. Ontop of that the extra hour you have to wait for everyone to get on and in the raid to start clearing trash.

Season 3 might be the first season where I actually try out M , I got a lot of homework to do cause at the moment not sure what I'm gonna do M on cause I'm looking to do pvp as well as well have to relearn boss mechanics and trash mobs mechanics as well as what each weekly Affixes are and what they do. Why I'm doing M is cause of the mount first module of its kind and plus it looks sick. Might buy a couple WoW tokens to sell to hopefully buy the Mythic raid mount Unbound Star-eater it just looks sick I don't care that it's just a netherstorm drake reskinned with void stuff around it it just looks cool lol

Boo-QuiQui: The game incentivizes people to be losers, its also one of the worst games at introducing new players. Half the people I introduced to WoW were talked down on in dungeons and kicked so they just quit the game. On top of end game content... if u want to do challenging content.. wasting hours upon hours of ur week. I can see why people lose interest. The end game is only sustainable for losers.

hucken666: you could still do the same and just do raid or just do m or just do delves. it is just the expectation of raid guilds, that you have to farm gear from m , so you basically already outgear the raid, before you even step a foot in it.

Furcas: Not to mention this expansion and dragonflight heavily bloated out some specs to the point where playing them properly takes more weakauras, muscle memory, and UI work than ever before (e.g., mistweaver). Then the raids have consistently gotten more and more complex to a point where there's full blown assignment weakauras to handle mechanics that really can't be resolved fast enough by most people otherwise. Game relies way too much on buff/debuff icons, nameplates, and artificial UI related difficulty as opposed to just being fun/well designed.

M you can at least hop on and do a few dungeons then hop off. It just sucks being a second class citizen because they bake an extra 10-20% power into very rare raid items or slots that you don't equivalents for across the m loot table. Current season and healer trinkets is a good example. Even the heroic version of one them was enough to push my hps up 3-5% most encounters by itself over a 684 dungeon trinket. Absolutely insane. That is becoming much

MrCleates: Btw I love the world pvp vids!

It's a shame that it gets next to no attention from Blizzard, because in the very early days of the game, world PvP was a huge aspect of it.

I miss that when I was a little kid running around in vanilla/BC/Wrath even Cata.

hvdiv17: Retail wows pve is worst then most people say especially in m raiding in a seasonal game i see no point to.

I just pvp on retail wow and do delves for my pve.

MrCleates: I just do the raid on LFR and the rest of my game time is farting about doing whatever I find fun.

Battlegrounds, Delves, Duels in Goldshire and just talking to people.

And yes, organised raiding is a waste of time and people do it in an attempt to "Keep up with the Joneses" I find.

Whether that be for gear, parses on a third party website(lmao who cares?)

KapitanObvious: Gear inflation.

After 20 years in WoW I just cant handle that anymore....

Im playing time to time games as example Rapplz (very grindy - but no gear degradation)

Im like mobile game Summoner Wars playing that game 10 years and runes(similar to gear in some point) DONT have in 99% any power degradation AT ALL!!!!

I can not play game 2 years a come back and my account progression will be FINE!

In WoW

Lets say. I come back from break 6_ month I geared 4 of my character just PvP some a bit craft...

What... in August I will be again loose all gear progression :D

Its crazy....

Gear should be last AT LEAST 2-3 years AS MINIMUM!

And even after inflation 5-10% MAXIMUM

So in 5-6 yers you gear will be 5-10% less powerfull that in was before....!!!

Not freakin 3-6 month!!!

qpeocn: PvP is the way to go! The world is too busy nowdays to be committing 4-6 hours day, 3 days a week to just raid and wipe.

Superbluedog: I feel this. When I lived alone, I could sink time into raiding, but even then I didn't cause it was just so much of a time lock it felt like a job instead of an experience. 8 dungeons PER character is a crazy amount. Even if you grease keys like I do at average 20 minutes per 10 (pugging), thats still almost 3 hours a week per character, and that's assuming people don't mess up X/8 keys. The other big issue with raiding atm is that Mythic is still a locked instance and pugging is basically not allowed which feels really bad when just about everyones BiS trinket, ring, or weapon comes from at least 1-3 raid boss(es) deep in the raid. The amount of times we had to cancel cause we were 19/20 on a prog night due to a power out, guy missing cause birthday/event, or an emergency is ridiculous when no one will join a non-fresh Mythic raid. Feel like vault needs to be dialed back for dungeons, and Mythic raid should be opened to not be instance locked after the first 100 teams beat it and the Hall of Fame is concluded. Similar to how it was realm locked at one point.

jojoheadshrinker24: I'm in an aotc guild that just raids 3 hrs once per week. Raiding went from "too much" to extremely fun when you shorten your raid days down to once per week in a single 3 hr session.

GnarutaM: Sick mount and mog Soul! Same sentiments here! It has gone to becoming a chore rather than fun. And most of the time you are forced to go along with what is demanded otherwise you won't be invited ie farming gear and force to upgrade them and get higher ilevel. Like you said, i dont have time to pvp anymore after hours of grinding m . I wanted to collect mog and mounts too. I just resubbed this july because of the mount event but meh still no luck after running 10 alts.

SpaziSpark: I totally agree with you. that's why I decided for pvp only. it's easy to get the gear, I just go in and play.. it's a desperate system in pvp, but what's there, I'm playing it again.

lovisla: You need to join a guild like mine - we are casual but we do heroic and at this point we are taking alts for fun.

Quettesh: What you are talking about is the first month of the season. After that you can just raid log if you are not in top 100 guild and if you are, then the time investment is perfectly justified.
