ozberkalpay: Again, the problem is a lot of people don't trust Blizzard to be capable of running their own Classic to the level Turtle WoW does. I can't repeat enough times the importance of bringing human GMs back and preventing botting. If Blizzard takes away anything from Turtle WoW, it should be how they handle this.

sushileafbeats: You've missed the point on 'modding'. Turtle WoW has modified the vanilla version of the game. There are tons of additions, modifications if you will, to the vanilla environment. Be it the way of new zones, new and altered dungeons, etc. They are speaking of it in a perspective of letting groups of people modify and run the game such as they have. Not so much addons or w.e. It's based more on the core 'development' of the game.

Blizzard hasn't cooked up anything since they relaunched classic in 2019, after all these years official classic should've been polished and released by now.

sushileafbeats: Another missed point that a lot of chatters seem to have, is sticking to this 'blizzard will say no, you stole, end of'. How would this proposal EVER have ANY chance if it were just that... a proposal with zero proof of concept? Turtle WoW has proven for years that this is something the fans want. Sending an out of the blue email or w.e to Blizz execs, saying 'hey we love the game and want to run vanilla servers for you in a way the fans will enjoy', would be such an empty waste of energy with no 'numbers' to back it up. It's like when people pitch on Shark Tank. It helps to sell your idea, if you have evidence that you CAN sell your idea.

Complication84: the major difference for all of these examples and turtle wow is that none of those other services for those games are free. They are allowed to do these things while the original game is active because they aren't profiting from it. Where as Turtle is profiting from it. The project 99 server for EQ only got the blessing from Daybreak as long as it is free with zero monetization. Turtle trying to relate their game to a mod is insanely desperate.

I believe the plan is already to do something like this with player created content (see Ion interview where he says about housing imagine if you could place traps, turrets or enemies) but a mod/private server infrastructure would be amazing.
