R00m1o6C: I find Zul'jan being portrayed as a complex character far more interesting than him being just a simple villain. However, the idea of the "angry native who is only defending his culture" is just another oversimplification. Just because a people have suffered historical injustice does not automatically make cultural revanchism or nationalism something noble. Good fantasy should explore this conflict instead of idealizing one side.
