N4chtigall: The issue with Blizzard is that they will never bend the knee. They are too proud to admit their own failure. Look how loing it took them before they accepted that people want Vanilla servers? Or that Classic is a good idea? They could start working on it right after Classic servers got their last patch, keep the hype going, keep new content flowing... but no. They didnt. They released Season of Discovery which was kinda success but it was like 10% of what it could be. They are really, really scared of implementing some big changes to WoW.
