The Real Reason People Quit Classic WoW

monsoon1234567890: When you're running in circles on top of the Orgrimmar bank for hours with nothing to do, it's time to quit.

ChairmanMeow1: I just play and play and play until raiding starts and then I eventually get bored. Has happened every time.

Thrillhouse89: because levelling from 1-60 is fun and you get rewarded for levelling with new abils, new spell ranks, equipping new gear etc. Soon as you get to 60 that all disappears, the raids are bad, loot drops for certain items are bad. You hit 60 and play for maybe a month before realising end game in classic is very bad

austinpalmer898: I quit usually once raiding starts lol

Pawspicious: My plan is to finally complete TBC raid content for once in my life next year, and then play Classic when Blizzard releases next late fall

Rex93241: This is the take: It’s a social game. The optimizing of the game has ruined the social aspect and people quit. They have no connection to the game. I never missed an ICC raid because I loved my guild, I didn’t need gear.

erikhendrickson59: Back in the day "raid logging" wasn't really a thing. First of all, the vast majority of people didn't raid at all, and those who did took their raid loot and used it to have fun in the open world as a more powerful character.

Wyrmtung4269: Retail maintenance got pushed back another hour perfect timing for me ty Xaryu

StreetForged: This has been a problem for classic-wotlk always, but at least with tbc and wotlk, there was more balanced pvp and arena so for pvpers there's a larger life span. PvP has always been the end game because it requires min maxing and understanding of every classes mechanics to be competitive.

Blizzard neglected most other aspects of the game, with professions that are mostly useless, easy to outgear all the dungeon content, and no reason to do quests after max level. There is almost nothing to do other than raid and pvp once you exceed the dungeon gear.

Classic plus should prioritize all these areas of dead content along with some additional dungeon and raid content, probably an extra BG or so, and more reasons to explore the map, like more good spots to grind for gold and more things to spend gold on. Season of discovery kind of showed that blizzard has no idea how to update this game, because all they did was turn everyone into super heroes with way overturned abilities that should have never seen vanilla content. Penance at level 4 with no spec? Lol. Made a warrior and could pull 8 mobs and never die just because of victory rush, when normally 3 was too many to pull. They don't understand how much adding one single ability can completely change gameplay for the worse.

laylen245: for me it was people selling boosts and going in there seeing a mage fly hacking and not getting banned i was like im done

alexishopkins7123: A pet should never solo a player. I remember those days.

felttippen4294: We don't stop playing because we get old, we got old because we stop playing

matender9192: haven't even watched the hole video yet, but short awnser is:

nowadays the mindset is rush through everything, min-max the fun out of the game and GO NEXT

kinda silly to even call for classic iterations or even classic with that kind of attitude

letitbebahdarsyah3935: I feel like people used to raid not just for the gear, but to know the story, of course by playing it, not just watching videos from anywhere.

qltGaming: The Reason?

I login after Maintenance and see 200 Bots running in a straight line, then start flying into the Void.

vroxus5107: Raiding is a social event for me. If I don't find a fun friendly guild, I just don't raid

comptonblack917: Everyone who played wow at the beginning have real lives now.. we dont have 24 7 to play anymore

user-wd9gy4ls5g: I always get so burned out farming potions, mats, buffs, gold, etc during the first raid tier. It's so draining and unfun. I don't buy gold so farming takes up a huge amount of time out of my week and it feels like a full-time job just to raid 1 night and get no gear. None of my friends can ever make it beyond Molten Core because of the farming burnout. World buffs and potion prices just ruin it for me.

porcu12345: I'm not surprised BWL is so popular. It's really fast, it has great loot, it has fun parts where you pump like the elemental weaknesses on trash and vael buff. Then it goes into AQ where the raid takes 2-3x as long and is full of annoying trash packs and it feels like it's never going to end. Naxx is a bit more interesting than AQ but mostly the same faults with extra consumable cost tacked on.

naejimba: So instead of "flexing on people" as the reason for raiding... do none of you just enjoy, you know, actually raiding? What about the social aspects of it? You and your friends all jump online and do it together as a group. I feel like as time goes on, most people are treating it like a job and trying to min max the social aspects out of the game. To me that is defeating the entire purpose. It's like working really hard to prepare this amazing dinner, inviting guests over, and then "speed eating" your way through it trying to shove it down your throat as fast as possible. You don't have time to enjoy the flavors. Your guests aren't your friends, you don't know anything about them. They walk through the door at the last possible second, and get annoyed if anyone even says hello. As soon as they have finished eating as quickly as possible, they just get up and walk out the door without even saying goodbye. That's what raiding with some of you is like.

styx953: One thing I never understood about classic players is, peoples always praise it for "the journey", yet peoples wanna skip that journey by getting boosted to 60 and buy gold gear. A true paradox.

bbrad0: I don't think BWL is larger than MC. Every one of my old-school WoW friends quit before BWL even released. BWL might be larger for raiders, but the total player count on servers is definitely higher on the way to MC and a couple weeks after. I agree AQ sucked. I pray raiding is changed in Classic I had more fun in 10mans in UBRS and even in the first couple of phases of SOD.

Grenouillewpk: I love AQ40 but i hate molten core....

BWRND65: that raid logging is what kills my drive.

driiifter: End game used to be more PVP focused as a whole, but they basically put an end to that by cutting out PVP into it's own island of gearing.

lawy8577: i just came back to regular nightslayer classic and im loving to slow lvling process it reminds me of the old days and the server is soooooo populated. also I love your vids man im a father as well and I like that you dont curse much and are wholesome and genuine.
