Shopping Carttorgrimhanssen5100: Outside scholomance... foreshadowing or do you know.
There is an item you get in classic that lets you see and interact with NPC's outside (especially if you are a blacksmith).
machinedragonslair: My personal most terrifying zone was Razorfen Downs back when I was a wee noob. I managed to run up to the ceiling while being chased by a ghoul. I was legit scared. The group kept saying run to the tank.
diameetinternetfriends1340: Classic WoW was terrifying, danger everywhere, Elite with Skull, adding the undead and dark atmosphere, it was flawless execution. To this day no expansion managed to capture this atmosphere
moch.farisdzulfiqar6123: Actually, I had similar experience with my first char, a blood elf paladin. I wondering too far in The Ghostland into the Amani territory, then I saw a portal and without hesitation I entered the portal. After the loading screen, my mind where blew away by the terrifying scenery of the Eastern Plagueland. The Ghostland is creepy for sure, but seeing Eastern Plagueland remind me of the aftermath of Arthas scourging Lordaeron. Finally, I was able to reconnect why the sky inside Deatholme is blazzing red, it was closer to the Eastern Plagueland. And when I saw the first basilisk mob have skull level, I immediately backed away and thinking, I would return to quest there. TLDR: I did not questing there because my friend insisted to questing in Kalimdor.
hydromancer4916: Vashj'ir just because I have thalassophobia
goldeneye9859: My 4 year old loves when I ride through the west and east plaguelands. She’ll say again over and over so I’ll have to go back and forth. It’s got such a Halloween vibe that my daughter loves. Sleepy hallow vibes. Maybe that’s why the headless horseman comes nearby the plaguelands every Halloween. Maybe he comes from the plaguelands themselves.
forkittens: seeing what has become of the game in current retail is the most terrifying zone of all.
JesseMellor-t1w: Another banger of a video Nixx! This is a form of community preservation for Warcraft. I love how us as an audience get to relate to your reminiscing of a world that has had a great influence on us. Keep them coming!
EchosOfAzeroth: Makes a video called "the most terrifying zone" and it isn't Elwynn forest goldshire inn??
carsonwilson4542: I remember my first traipse into Western Plaguelands. I had a similar experience to you. I was blown away by how a very light zone could be so scary.
Then a spider killed me. Popped outta nowhere.
TYOjoe: Hearing the intro reminds me of my own beginnings in the world of warcraft. I was a tauren though, instead of an undead. I came up to the barrens a bit too early. I remembered walking in from this peaceful plains to some crazy desert with giant lizards and giraffes. It was like walking into a safari. And just like a safari, it was dangerous, nearly everything was skull level.
In the end, a much different experience than yours, but both are laced with that sense of exploring the unknown in the early days of WoW.
Blundabus1337: I play Hardcore, and honestly, whenever we talk about the Plaguelands, I always mention how I love that name. The name has weight to it, as it should.
It's not just WPL or EPL, it's THE Plaguelands.
trimblephillip: I hope one of your stories talks about Tyrian and his son as well as the ghosts outside of Scholo. It’s a tossed for me between eastern and western but overall the plaguelands are the best zones I think. So much lore. Now, when I level a new tune, I go from the plague lands right to Northland. Cheers my fellow death night.
JeremyDA88: It's moments like this that really hammer home just how good the original version of the game was when it came to atmosphere and world building. There wasn't a focus on apocalyptic threats yet, but instead just prioritising the WORLD of Warcraft. Go to a new zone, learn it's story, it's history, how it feels compared to others. The game didn't have one big story, but lots of smaller ones, each just as engaging as the last. And you know, speaking personally, I think the game was all the better for it :)
Bmfkr: awesome video as always nixx
FishSkeleton-: 3:34 It's pretty funny that, ironically, in a roundabout way your younger self was kind of half right. The Forsaken don't give a rat's ass about the tauren beyond how much they can make use of them, that's definitely true, but there is a strong link between the two races since it was the tauren that convinced Thrall to bring them into the Horde and accept their pleas for help. The tauren wanted to be compassionate to the Forsaken's plight. They wanted to find a way to reverse or at lease ease any pains of their conditions, and the Forsaken were more than happy to play along and pretend to be benevolent exiles and pariahs in need of aid if it would further their goals.
CplStoo: i'm lovin the Nixx bedtime stories
VoiceOfTheEmperor: Western and Eastern Plaguelands. In vanilla WoW, ofc!
Zabwow1: Catch em all
趙皇_評論: I play WoW back in 2023 (Turtle WoW) as a 14 y/o
and WC3 in 2015 as a 6 y/o
I'm now 17 y/o. I guess I'm one of those Young WoW Players :/
Soulgizmo: We love nixxiom
ben9724: Don't know if you have read those, but there wow mangas and in the first vol, there a story about Crusaders who want to retake Andorhal. Just to show how Andorhal is dangerous no one survive and even the waters are affected by the plagues.
Also, I know this story is based on the past, but I wonder. If teenage you had hope to Western plagueland to change, how do you think you would have felt at that time when there was the revamp zone?
1497james: Thank you nixxiom for another great video and distraction from the real world.
celsoh.perezs.5124: My case was reverse I play WIII but start on private server as Tauren Hunter because I want to meet Cairne qnd Thrall at first play I wasnt rush to play on lordaeron because I already know the ruin of the kindom but my most deep desire was play Bloodelf/Queldorei warrior on tbc I swich to many classes so then I was more familiar with the gameplay I start play around 2009 but I already read all based novels
bryanthegoalie5692: I was here within the first minute! <3
Andy-xd5dj: Vashjir
