Even if you believe it's more akin to someone giving you a canvas and paints for free but you're the artist painting a picture, you're still making a profit off of free tools. The people who likely put in more work than you to make those tools are literally unable to be paid because of blizzard, but you get to make money using them because of a technicality. That's why it's pretty unethical

If they were able to be paid, I'd agree that selling your UI is harmless.

galsina: I'm glad that you acknowledged your biases, but it is wild you can't see the big picture of how boosting is obviously unethical. Boosting is the definition of unethical. It is used to provide unjust advantages, mislead others, and cause harm to the economic situation of the 99.9% of players that don't profit from it. It is akin to how billionaires oppose environmental regulations or labor protections and downplay how they are profiting while hurting others. This isn't at all THAT serious, but your reasoning is weak and narrow-minded.

If the only valid thing you could do with gold was buy mats, mounts, and repair bills people wouldn't be RMTing. No average player has 10 million gold sitting around for a mythic boost from playing...

Torlonus: Technically in FFXIV you can buy boosts with Gil (Gold) but you're only allowed to announce buying and not selling.

So "3m gil if mount drops" is fine but "21m gil to get carried and get mount" is not. But that hasn't stopped people from advertising boosting services.

tdrai4648: boosting and tokens are the epitome of blizzards greed. everything has become so expensive because of it, just look at the quantity of mats you need for a flask compared to a few years ago. I don‘t want to work in my videogame, I want to do what‘s fun for me but because blizz just can‘t ever stop with the greed that is just never gonna happen. imo 50-90 dollar EXPANSIONS and 15 dollars every month should by far be enough for a single game.

Saffuron-Echochaser: The problem with only meta comps in M is it does more than merely rewards those people for their spec bias and FOTM but also punishes the non-meta specs. It's a positive feedback loop of discrimination.

It is completely blizzards fault since they created the system to be that way, however no one would argue today that prejudice like that is rationally acceptable in the real world even though it was permissable by governments for thousands of years.

To put it plainly, it's still a moral logic check for players even tho it's allowed in the game and Meta only comps are failing that check.

Note: You can't argue that someone playing non-meta specs are not taking the game as seriously as someone who is if you yourself are not also taking the due diligence to scrutinize each individual players logs and judging merely on their individual performance rather than their spec choices alone.
