Pointless Top 10 Creepiest Places in World of Warcraft

fistfulohorde: did he just say aristoCATS

wanred61: Knowing the kind of humour some of the undead have, it would be right up their alley to put a big goofy pumpkin in the throne room.

Shifsabre: I'm surprised the Path of Glory didn't make it onto the list. It's pretty unassuming unless you look down and realise you're walking on the bones of thousands of Draenei

robdgaming: For me, even creepier than the dead pigs with mushrooms growing out of them are the STILL LIVING bears infested with spider eggs in the SW part of Hillsbrad Foothills.

Hecatate: Even after 20 years playing, I still find people that have never seen the Catacombs in Raven Hill.

Lamsan02: The lair of the Jade Witch in the Jade Forest. The Jade forest is generally all great ambient and scenery, it's a place for you to discover the beauty of Pandaria at first.

And then you pass through that bamboo-shadowed place, the music gets all OOOooooOOOOoo and you see all the people who where turned into jade statues.

The worst part? I already did the quest ages ago, so I pass through there and there's no one at the house, just jade statue victims and a general sense of dread. It feels really out of place in the Jade Forest and it works perfectly.

patrickp442: Not an “area” but the Host of Souls, specifically its voice(s) always creeped me out

Beljeth: "There's numerous places in Drustvar I could have put on this list." Like the empty village with nobody in it but a spooky child who speaks in rhyming couplets. First time I ran across her, I turned to my husband and said "If she starts talking about The Gentlemen I'm uninstalling the game."

Smaug_le_dore: The funny part is that they had to hire a mage to teleport the pumpkin inside, or they're making it grow inside, because there is no way this fits through the door

JimboMcBrostein: Dude I was in a cave in Azj-Kahet with the new spiders with a disgusting model hanging on the roof, and at the end I was looking at something on the wall and there's this HUGE spider with a shadowy mist effect whatever that just appeared out of the ground, I was scared shitless, never going in that stupid place ever again

willlewis6622: My absolute scariest experience in WoW took place in Raven Hill. In the town there are invisible lvl 55ish ghosts. You can't normally engage them UNLESS you start AoEing.

I pulled some way back in 2007 and all of a sudden, I was getting attacked out of nowhere. Spooky indeed

Illuminateus: I dont get how people can have such a fear of spiders that even seeing them in a game makes them horrified, so much so in fact that they had to repeatedly tell blizzard about it till blizzard make an option to turn them into crabs. I dunno, could just be me, but i assume those were all the parents complaining about their children being too scared to play World of Warcraft..

LarryH4879: Remember questing in Duskwood with a low level Priest and unwittingly follow the road into Karazhan Pass. The spiders got me. Walked right under them without looking up. Oops.

ericv738: Drustvar isn't creepy. It's "I'm trying to be creepy" level of creepy, which is like the least creepy level of creepy.

heli0ns: The throne room ambience is also the best example of what I loved in classic wow: the world had more ambience to it in general. The mood building was subtle and often somber, which made it set down deep into your mind. The game didn't try to keep your attention by dangling keys in front of your face and tooting horns and popping off fireworks, but let you build your own relationship with it.

fIorapetals: My personal favourite spooky place in WoW is Eastern Plaguelands!! I know that’s probably a basic choice, but going around with Fiona and Gidwin and the caravan is just such a fun line of quests and it never gets old to me.

tatalsaba: Thinking about the Forgotten Shore makes me wonder why we never got to deal with the ghosts of the mercenaries in the game, it seems so natural. Plus it gives rise to the possibility of a Top Ten Betrayals in the game, there's a lot to pick from.

IvyTinwe: I feel like Dreadwind Pass is a liminal space. There is nothing to do here (besides added quests in Legion for the weapons and SoD, but it's more like clues leading you there), just a handful of NPCs and only Karazhan.

Knight-of-Sarcasm: I always found the pumpkin disturbing because the carved face was so oddly experessioned. The blood spot on the floor also draws the eye. Since BFA though, I can look into the throne room w/o looking up at the balconies with the plague green pouring down on the Alliance.

Thanks, Crendor, for making these videos. I really look forward to them each week.

KlementtM: Creepiest place I ever went is that one tavern underwater off the coast of Vol'dun. Mostly because of the kraken, yes. Just looking at it for more than a few seconds made me want to logout

Madvillayo: early but just in time for dinner B)

gumi_fox: I think a lot about Nazmir is pretty creepy, especially the blood trolls and their lore.

Actually, thinking about it, trolls are just creepy. Guess being a Bwonsamdi-devoted troll main means I was always meant to think about the morbid, but...

- The blood trolls eating Torga's corpse

- Their corruption of frogs into crawgs (Rip Hir'eek too)

- All the tied up men and the weird hierarchy???

- From what I remember, trolls flay themselves to use their own skins for drums. (Because of this, I headcanon that any vain trolls will, um... intentionally remove 'bad' skin, and regenerate it back without any flaws.)

- There was that one quest in the Necropolis with the lost ghost child looking for her mom, and it turned out she had been sacrificed by her own mother for eternal life? Or eternal peace on the Other Side, don't remember. Not so much creepy as it is cruel. Bwonsamdi says a deal is a deal, but has you kill her (the mother) anyway lol.
