Out of Bounds Secrets World of Warcraft Vanilla Boundary Break

720zone: Really appreciate the shout-out, and loved seeing WoW get the Boundary Break treatment!

dogbogs: "there's also a tree here with some decorations on the front" bro that's archimonde

neogri2: Calling the remains of Archimonde "decorations" made me chuckle.

AvelineMelena: There is a bunch of incorrect informations but the tour is still nice to see

VikingCudaShorts: I've been waiting years for this episode!!

ThiccOleCat: GM island used to be populated by infernals that instantly kill you. There have been dubious means to get in for awhile. Back in Classic a lot of files were stored client side. You could log off on a zeppelin and change a file and log back in to fully divert the course of a zeppelin to GM island. I tried it on a private server and it worked. They would teleport players to the jail cell you mentioned back in the day.

Lady_Lilith666: Originally Emerald Dream was a location where druids can finish their class quest, but this location was cut completely

Darxide23: GM Island was reachable in Vanilla using an exploit to bypass the fatigue that happens when you swim too far from land. Only druids were able to do it until a way to reach it using properly timed disconnects from the server were discovered that allowed any class to get there. The little room underneath was definitely an interrogation room. It originally had a single white chair in the middle of that spotlight. Whether or not it was ever actually used as such is debatable. Some people report being teleported there, but others claim those stories are untrue.

Once the means to reach the island were discovered, the devs spawned a bunch of immortal infernals on the island that would instantly one-shot kill anybody who reached the island. When The Burning Crusade expansion was released, the infernals stopped spawning on the island for unknown reasons and it remained easy enough to reach and a relatively

alexhaladay4345: Back when the game 1st came out, I spent a day off swimming around the 2 main continents. Found a couple odd areas like "abandoned farms.

I did the swim out until I died, then took my ghost and pushed out as far as I could in the respawn area then kept swimming until I died from deep water, repeat. took many deaths and many hours. One I head East from the main orc city. eventually came to a square area in the ocean that looked like a test area , and further east i came to a ridge bordering the map.

The other time I did this was i went south from Tanaris to those islands you can see in the distance. Got to it, saw another island, went to that, found a bottle on the island and clicked on it and it said, "How did you get here?" or something close. screenshot it, and put it up on geocities. and now its lost to time. Wish I still had that one

QuestionBlockGaming: the giant skeleton in armor near the tree in Hyjal is Archimonde, from the ending cinematic to warcraft 3's Night Elf campaign (Eternity's End). one of the most notable and powerful moments in the entire series. Furion Stormrage baits the immortal Archimonde into absorbing the energy from the great tree Nordrassil, but while he's defenseless, assaults him with the full power of nature leading to an incredible explosion, basically nuking the entirety of Hyjal, with the assumption that despite the destruction and sacrifice of thousands of lives, Hyjal would eventually heal and regrow but Archimonde would not

Goretantath: There was a version of gm island with a chair in that room, it was kinda like an iteragation room, there was special properties preventing teleporting out of it. I used to run a private server of wrath on an old dell inspiron laptop during middle school. Was a lot of fun fooling around with shit. Still amazed how little resources the server used since most of the power needed was to have millions of players connecting at once, just running the server i could also log onto the client on the same laptop and it ran pretty fine.

TehwombatJS: Shout out to Hayven Games who used to do videos many years ago about this stuff, but sadly lost his battle with cancer. Wonderful creator gone too soon. I hope you're resting well buddy.

Dioxane: GM island was also intially made because they had to be "logged in" to message players.

A lot of the raid instances exist in the "real world" but are re-made in the instances.

The Hyjal is mostly re-used as was, for the TBC Raid but before it was all cratered and destroyed.

The old forge was accessable if you got feared through the door

Blackrock mountain, thats the final boss of Blackwing Lair.

The Emerald Dream was a concept but abandoned until Legion because they didnt want to release a complete zone of just solid green.

Phaser_On_Overload: This is fantastic. But now you've opened yourself up to starcraft players and the hype will never end.

kerkvlerk4720: The moment I saw the unused Dragon Isles map and he went inside the main building, I wondered if this map was already an early piece that helped shape the Dragonflight hub, Valdrakken, specifically under the Seat of the Aspects. The main castle in Valdrakken has a very similar layout. It would be so cool to know if they actually used or took inspiration from a map that’s been unused since Vanilla 20 years ago.

tinkersans: This is so awesome ! While i am no longer a WoW player, it's super exciting to see a boundary break of vanilla WoW >∇<

slimebuck: GM island never had debug NPC's on it. I was there in live servers a few times, I charged gold to take people to spots like it. Also in BETA wow the PORTALS in the trees that are guarded by dragons (there is like 6 or 7 of them in the world) actually teleported you to DEV island. They turned off the portals before release, but there was a time when they did work

Imgema: Where's the Deadmine Secret? That was terrifying.

Tulaash: One not so well known fact is that technically, GM Island exists in the lore, because there is actually lore behind the island! It's not much, but there was an old recruitment page on the European site advertising "hey, come work for us!" and there's a short story about GM Island :)
