Being able to tailor the information coming in to what works best for you was such a great feature and we lost a lot of that and I'm still salty af about it. Blizzard used a nuke where they should have used dynamite and the game experience feels worse because of it.

Moonwired: The amount of effort required to reduce my mental load even a little bit has increased exponentially. I need a phd into whatever addon i’m using to just figure out the mind boggling coding choices they’ve made to adjust it to a workable version for me. Thats not even taking into consideration the ridiculous things addon coders have to do just to be able to track something. I really miss the days were you could just grab a package with all the triggers already pre-loaded and you just needed to change the visual representation of how those triggers appeared on your screen. The worst part is, 95% of the information we used to have is still being displayed today, it just takes so much more work. And then there’s the bugs, errors, screen freezes, lag and stuttering.

And then there’s the goddamn community members going, “you don’t need addons, i’m doing high content just fine”…. Well guess what dipsh*t, you haven’t got a clue whats going on, you succeeded by sheer chance, way more practice, or your group members are doing impossible to track mechnics with the base UI for you, in short you’re being carried. It is OBJECTIVELY true that the more relevant information you have displayed makes you play the game better. It is OBJECTIVELY false that playing with less information makes you better. Can you play the game without addons? Sure, I can also play the game one handed, on a smaller monitor or with a badly preforming pc, or with a trackpad instead of a mouse.

Pandemanium_TV: I solved this problem by buying an ultrawide screen so I can put everything on the edges and still have basically full 2560x1440p in the middle

fare-5174: A reminder that only 1% of players get CE so the rest don't really need UI to raid. A reminder that the CE number was higher when we still had addons to tailor our UI to our needs, to the point where Lura was nerfed into the grave just to have anyone in the HoF. I believe the dictionary definition of this is "own goal". Good job Blizzard!
