Shopping CartMulhamCases: After the last titan, they need to update wow, like a whole update like RuneScape did to RuneScape 3. New engine new graphics reworked from scratch etc…. Basically wow 2.0 that will thrive for the next 20 years
FakeName39: i stopped playing WoW Midnight, finished storyline and then.. just meh, i tried doing alt but was completely bored quickly. Did Delves, mythics dont interest me, okay did some LFR - eh... well shit maybe im just done?
gnut2097: Make WoWs storyline less Disney and more Game of Thrones. I find it strange you can res, heal and dispel players in dungeons and raids yet Khadgar, one of the most powerful and iconic characters has been retired to an old folks home and licking windows and the girl bosses are running the show. There’s not enough rage, need more rage!
Malvenue: I've been hearing for decades game after game was going to be a "wow killer"and I doubt GW3 is going to be it.
stewartgraham4702: After the Ashes of Creation debacle I am not holding my breath. Every recent MMO project has either been a scam or tanked.
steveblease: WOW is soft in head. Pride flags, no swearing, certain emote removed cause the upset people. PvP is not Pvp.
jethrodark2372: The problem with this theory is this would imply that those new MMOs will actually be good. Me personally I like MMOs but I'm old and tired. WoW is my last MMO, I'm not investing time into a new one.
OzTheYouTuber: GW3 announcement has been a very loud shot across the MMO space's bow, but it's really just the latest development that MMOs are updating, revamping and refreshing to make the space more competitive. ESO, FF XIV and SWTOR are three other MMOs that are working on combat and skill revamps/story updates/graphics refreshes. Even in the non-MMO space, developers are really flexing their muscles to get new players, and retrain the ones they have. CD Project RED is updating The Witcher 3, still supporting Cyberpunk 2077 while also developing their Cyberpunk Orion and The Witcher 4. Nightdive Studios found great success in their System Shock remake, and are aiming to revamp more 'abandoned' IPs.
Like you said, Skyy, I don't think WoW is in any danger of being 'killed' by another MMO - after all, their greatest injuries always seem to be self-inflicted (*stares at Shadowlands*) - but competition a very good thing.
NicholasLi10: I heard this shit before and yet WOW still survive and thrive.
Cooperharley0204: Title is doing the usual YouTube panic / clickbait thing, but the actual take is pretty fair: WoW isn’t dying, it’s just maybe facing real pressure again. If GW3, Riot’s MMO, and other new projects force Blizzard to compete instead of coast, that’s good for everyone. MMO players win either way.
miker1372: They need to revamp the whole system, maybe back to a faction vs faction it feels like that doesn't exist anymore
Yakugari: Right now in WoW it's one drama after another, from the subscription price hike to decoration bundles for insane amounts of money. If something genuinely good comes out now, WoW is going to be in trouble — and that's exactly what I'm counting on. I'm hoping that if players start leaving, Blizzard will actually start making an effort to win the player back instead of pushing them away, sitting there convinced that they're the best and the player has nowhere else to go.
star2358: Crazy that in the first few min of this video you didn't even mention ffxiv... A genuine competitor. I have plenty of issues with ffxiv (housing being a crap system in that game), but you can't mistake the impact ffxiv is having on the mmo market.
chessie7860: I love WoW but MMOs are simply a flawed archaic genre. Only reason world of Warcraft works is because blizzard built up catered to its player base over the span of 20 years. Newer generations simply don’t want to interact with games in this way. And companies don’t want to cater to their costumers as much as it requires. I feel any pursuit into MMOs in modern times is a doomed venture.
punishedgef: This implies that new MMOs are going to be any good. I haven't found a single MMO to be fun to play except WoW and FF14 (I'm no-lifing in FF14 right now, but maybe I will get back to WoW someday). It would be nice if there was more competition, but I'm not holding my breath.
Fortjul: I still play but d4 has me stuck
jtzreal: Wow is lost for the future. They lost the plot. They have good mechanics, and graphics (for the most part) but they have no idea what a “fantasy Warcraft” game should be. They’re too “Disney” and not enough “world of Warcraft”.
More realistic graphics with the same gameplay crispness, and more edgy artwork, and themes need to be implemented for the future if they stick with the world of Warcraft. They need to revert away from Disney character models, and bouncy furry animations, and lean more into a grungy, dark, and medieval type of art direction while maintaining crisp and responsive gameplay.
marsbog_tv: Can someone just make an MMO with Diablo's graphics?
Aehaze: Glad GW3 and Riot are putting pressure on WoW. You know damn well WoW 2 is in development on some level. Put that boot in their ass! I mean shit, Im hyped for EverQuest Legends, Ill be playing that for a bit personally
muthergoose4084: I have been playing WoW pretty hard since 2024. I am tired and want to play different games.
pgrove: That clickbait title though. WoW and Blizzard are in constant trouble. You got me to come and comment though.
fastfurious7785: they said the same for age of conan xD
dnt000: Wow is alive but boring as fck and dead like an overused sock.
Kronx1970: I've been playing FF14 for the first time recently. There's a long list of pros and cons I have for that game. But in their next expansion they said they're modifying the combat of the game. Sounds like they might be trying do a bit of ability pruning and give a bit faster feel. I know for WoW players FF14 combat feels really slow by comparison. They also mentioned they'll no longer be developing the game to be PS4 compatible. I suspect that might help update the look of the game. I'm interested to see how they actually execute on these changes because I think FF14, if nothing else, has some interesting fun classes that are outside the RPG tropes. That's really what I've been sort of hungry for -- new ideas in class designs. Like the Pictomancer in FF14 or the Mesmer in GW2. I understand the love for the classics like Warrior, mage, paladin, priest, etc. But I'm hungry for some outside the of box ideas for classes. I'd interested in any MMO that brings that to the table.
itsnotbobby: MMO is a massive , MASSIVE, investment and you litterly can't fit other hobbies along side with it. It's hard to want to switch.
CozyGamer90c: Competition is always good I play both wow and gw2 and of course can't wait for gw3. My problem now with wow is,idk maybe a burnout I'm just not excited playing I feel like no motivation...
AnthonyHernandez-pz9dt: This has been going on for a while. When the SA lawsuit stuff came out a few years ago there was an exodus of WoW players to other MMOs like ff and gw2. Most came back to WoW after a bit, but a number of them either liked the other MMO enough to stop playing WoW or found a way to balance both games. More recently, OSRS has been seeing a golden age in part thanks to WoW players jumping over. All of this has led to Blizz make changes similar to those other MMOs to compete with them. This is why we have housing.
