Shopping CartComputerBladet: I will happily pay for Tutle because its just better than Classic. I dont think I am alone thinking that.
savagealldayz: If only the spent this energy on bots
AKAAndreas: Just make Classic Plus better than the competition, and the players will come. No? Ok lol.
ricardin2498: The Turtle Files doesnt exist.
HmmWho69: Im for whatever hurts blizzard more as a company at this point. they hate their consumers more than nintendo does and thats saying a lot. Turtle is doing something they cant even fathom and thats why they're going after them, because they arent willing to put in half the work of the twow team to make something players actually enjoy.
strangecrimeworld9402: The true problem is the judge who is assigned is known for taking major corporations sides in big IP lawsuits. They requested a change in judge, this judge is a no nonsense judge
threejaguar: Russia. Blizz can't serve paper in Russia, and copyright and trademark infringement on companies in "unfriendly" countries is perfectly legal in Russia.
fat-phil: At this point, Blizzard knows that if they ever release a Classic , it’s bound to fail. They already dropped the ball with SoD, and they know they can’t match the talent and passion that private servers like Turtle WoW bring to the table. It seems to all envy to me, that’s why they’re so eager to shut it down. And let’s be real, the Turtle WoW community isn’t going to migrate to an official server if it gets shut down.
DrPanda-kf8cu: I would love to see blizzard lose their IP lol they aren't even blizzard anymore.
RyanRonin: TurtleWoW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>BlizzardWoW
MrTysage: Bottom of the day Blizzard, a massive multibillion dollar AAA company, is getting clowned on by small inexperienced teams full of amateur coders. They need to get their crap together
MessagerOfHell: People just love to say: "Blizzard is making C " when there's been no official confirmation from them.
There was just a survey sent to players, and the self-cope of "Blizz did this to Nostalrius when they wanted to launch an official Classic server".
First of all, Blizzard's focus is on the Titan triology plus whatever Metzen cooked up for the next 20 years worth of expansions for the game.
Second, Blizzard made a Classic server only AFTER they got major backlash from the community. Killing off Nostalrius earned them a lot of bad reputation.
I don't believe Blizzard is making a C server. Never will. They are incapable of making something great enough to outclass the competition of fan servers that are giving people what they asked for years on end from Blizzard and got stonewalled.
clyd5197: Again, there is no RICO "Charge". This is a civil case. They are trying to label this as an example of RICO to get permission to break constitutional Law and go on a "Fishing Expedition". Ill say again Nobody has been Criminally Charged with a RICO charge. If this were a criminal case Blizzard wouldn't be asking permission to "Unmask people". The government would be doing that. Since Blizzard doesn't even know who they are trying to sue, they need this permission from the government. Blizzards tactics are EXTREMELY against the US Constitution and normal practice in Authoritarian and Communist countries. Which is not surprising considering Blizzard is full of Commies. Bottom line is that Blizzard has no legal leg to stand on until they themselves can identify who the owners of TWOW are. THEN Blizzard needs to HOPE they are US residents or they have no jurisdiction. Its really that simple.
Karadonblack: Honestly because they are going after the private server community I am not going to play Blizzard games at all. I was subbed while playing both blizz and private servers.
TheZMovies: Blizzard is in a hurry, trying to expedite and skip steps because they are on a timer. They were hoping this intimidation tactic will work, the relevant people will immediately fold and the case will wrap up quickly, so that they can take Twow's work, slap a new label on it and release "classic " quickly to get applause from their fans and seem like the good guys who listen to their community that wants C .
Twow's best possible course here is to stall as long as possible. Even if they lose the case, every day past a certain date where Blizzard hasn't released Classic WILL bleed them of more $ on top of legal fees for this. It's a matter of time and when daddy Microsoft will decide this court case is no longer worth it. And then they'll have to hire competent developers to actually make their own classic instead of stealing what was already been made and proved to work. And since it's Blizzard, that opens them up to get exposed for how incompetent they are when it comes to understanding their own playerbase and developing their own game,
It's a lose-lose situation for Blizzard no matter the outcome of this lawsuit
And i'm all here for the shitshow
iguessthisiscontent: This is pretty hilarious. They probably figured the lawsuit would scare Turtle WoW into shutting down. I'm sure the team has cleaned up things by now.
haunted5311: If blizzard was smart they'd offer to merge turtle wow into blizzard, and let turtle wow continue doing exactly what they are doing, without ANY corporate changes being made to the TWOW version of WoW. Only difference being the $15 a month subscription fee being slapped onto it.
Knowing Blizz, they'd NEVER do something that smart, unfortunately.
thunderzproductions5474: I hope blizzard loses just to see it happen
DadoButic: ofc you got great time at SOM or SOD, both those Blizz steels from Ascension
skyesfury8511: Blizzard has accused Shagu of being one of the twow devs, to which Shagu has publicly stated he never has been part of the dev team or helped them in any way. Blizzard has no case. Like I said, twow's lawyers are going to laugh Blizz out of the courtroom.
MonsterJuiced: Finally, been waiting for this. This lawsuit is driving me mad tbh because to a degree I understand but what Turtle and Ascension are doing are incredibly transformative and as products go, Blizz already profited maximally from their OG release so this private server issue shouldn't count. It's been nearly 20 years since vanilla. If Blizz want people to stop playing private and come back, they really should compete with them which is the whole point of a capitalist free market.
homemetalstudios759: i knew it! it was john cena all along!
dtmarangoni: What about the Turtle WoW open letter? Did Blizzard respond to it?
squallphin: Call me crazy but my own theory is Blizzard wants to do the following things :
Present their own classic
Present an upgraded engine (ue5 or a proprietary engine)
And lastly and this is the most important : release a MOBILE PORT that is why in the latest expansion they are getting rid of that many skills,to make it more friendly with a mobile interface
All of the above are currently being developed by turtle wow
AdamOwczarek: Why are you framing it with the term "bad actors?" If you are quoting Blizzard and their lawyers, you should say - claimed or clarify in the terms of Microsoft-Activisions viewpoint. :)
dannyp9210: A licensing framework is the only rational way forward for Blizzard. They can license to those that satisfy their demands. Private servers can still be against ToS by default. Blizzard should have a licensing framework as private servers won't disappear permanently anyway, and they can still make their own Classic even with such a framework. It encourages competition which Blizzard can "win" by simply providing the superior product with their vast resources. Currently Blizzard is making zero money from the private server market, and is in fact losing money in legal costs, but with such a framework they can at least get some money in addition to free R&D and good PR.
Why do so many people seek private servers when Blizzard offers Classic? In part because Blizzard's version doesn't offer the experience people are looking for, and because Blizzard has done anti-Classic implementations such as store mounts, level boosts and WoW tokens, when they initially said they wouldn't, while doing next to nothing against RMT. Blizzard has done so much against the spirit of Classic that it’s no wonder people seek alternatives. A licensing framework would be the pro-consumer move.
citizen4610: Well I don't like Blizzard on a personal level because they celebrated Charlie Kirk's death, so I hope Turtle wins.
