Blizzard NEVER Gave Us The BEST Version of Classic WoW

HelloJTello: It's good to see your passion amigo and I hope we get to see a TRUE version of Classic Plus one day. Lock in

cbomcnasty: The walling caverns jump, people used to fall when it was bigger

fjeldet: I personally enjoyed SoD it felt refreshing even though it was the "same game"

juddsinclair6688: lots of people slept on SoD

Bubbs-: I like this mindset, but I personally would want more changes. Specifically around some classes, nothing too crazy that defeats their identity back in vanilla, but enough to make them feel at least enjoyable or closes the gap between the top specs and the hybrids. This is mostly coming from the perspective of an enh Sham main. At least form personal experience any sort of even chance of playing Enh just leads to you swapping to Resto. In this specific case I would love for Tbc talents to brought for it, but at that point I can see it going against your vision as it would be another case of giving the player additional power and tools, without adjusting the content accordingly.

It's the one aspect I see in the titanforge server that I like where you see them actually adding weird and new interactions for specs to help give a bit more power, but I also agree not the biggest fan wotlk (though adding maelstrom is amazing and added lightning weaving).

trey_dizzle4161: I'm hyped for TBC this time around. Last time it launched I was burned out and boosted the wrong alt and fizzled out. I'm on a long break from classic so I can't wait!!

Przyjemnosczgry: Love to see the passion, arguments definitely logical but at this point you would just look like a crazy person if you have any faith in blizzard.

PakariQT: Medium Servers - OG Alterac Valley would be a start.

Kerrigan1000: If we got progressive itemization that would give a reason to go back and do those dungeons when the new phase is released.

Things like Savage gladiator chain would be a goal in a later phase. If you got it earlier then it should stay that version and you'd have to go get the new version.

But I do think that progressive itemization would make the entire world feel alive, not just the end raids.

WoofBoef: original wow was going be lvl 70 with lich king and outlands and many more, i want that version

MikeNotikes: Very well said esfand and couldnt agree more with you. I would much rather have a more challenging version of classic game. If feels like they are trying to make classic friendly for new people that havent ever played before and thats fine but the raids and bosses should still be difficult to get that rush of dopamine when you finally kill that boss

chrishawk93: This is why I liked Season of Mastery, you'd actually see some boss mechanics. And progressing raids with a casual guild was really fun. SOM would maybe be a good baseline for Blizz to improve upon.

TheRobochicken5494: buddy did not play sod which was the best version of classic to date

ΓιάννηςΦωτογράφος: I think u are completely wrong

I think that vanilla/classic wow has always been that easy to beat the only think that has changed is how people approach and "solve" games

SolySey: I'm just glad these people and streamers are a dying breed and Devs like Blizzard have stopped listening. All they do is complain, complain and complain some more. You never find any actual content - just baiting for rage engagement about the same old again and again. Weak and pathetic.

MrSoulservice: SoD was so refreshing. I hope they do more of that type of stuff and just have some fun with it

HighTide.Sunset: I love classic but tbh I don’t want to progress raid anymore - I want to enjoy solo challenges and big epic fights with friends or pugs and just slowly progress my character. I’d be so out if I had to deal with loot councils, malding unemployed nerds, etc. big hard raids = my time being wasted bc not everyone is going to invest time to learn fights. I love hard fights in solo challenges bc it’s just me. Anything more than 5-10 people it’s a nightmare.

toddz15: need more loot from the bosses tho

JR-rv8ww: I get your point but dont think its going to lead to some revolutionary thing. Buffing boss hp so you actually do the fight isnt a bad idea but i doubt it would increase the longevity of the game by much for most players. So maybe it takes a week or two longer to clear content.

Okay then what? It goes back to raid logging. Nothing would ultimately change.

The way to longevity is introducing new content and/or seasonal fresh starts. Run the game like an ARPG or OSRS essentially.

I also think you're underestimating how many people struggle with the content even post nerf. I think your personal experiences have hid that aspect from you. One of the big complaints about SoD was how hard some of the content was.

Th3laughingman: mah spoon is too big

benjiwby: i still play hardcore wow, the EU server is still full for anniversary

touchofrage: I think one thing to remember is you usually play with some decent players and that probably contributes to why it feels like bosses get smoked before you even see all the mechanics / skip boss phases.

Overall most people are just better players these days with access to a large amount of information like logs/sims/pre-bis guides/YouTube videos etc. I think blizzard would need to do a lot more than just add more hp or arrmor to bosses like you suggested. Sitting there and dps dummying a boss for an extra 60 seconds isn't exactly exciting stuff. I personally wish they would add some new or change some mechanics like they did in SoM/SoD.

SomeGuyFromUtah: actual question - how much of this would be solved if they just removed raid buffs? especially in classic

ArgunandMomo: Fake economy is the root of the problem

Rodrigo584: You are not coming from a casual player/dad perspective. I've been in a dad guild through SoD and anniversary. Casual players/dads want to complete all the raids in a 3-4 hour night, maybe 2 nights if night 1 isn't clean. If they have extra time to play the rest of the week the will play on an alt, do dailies, do a dungeon/heroic. The casual/dad doesn't care about seeing mechanics, they want to get in and get out and hopefully get some purples.

Hardcore players don't care about mechanics either, they just want to get in and out of a raid and get their purples too. The difference is they do it on more alts or they speed run to add a challenge.

You want a hard mode experience that challenges you, otherwise you will get bored and quit. This is why you've been bouncing from game to game and new WoW xpac release.

redundantpancake: Hearing stories about pre-nerf vashj and kael'thas I looked forward to the fights, I started raiding properly until late in TBC. I think we killed vashj pre-nerf but not 100% sure, but we never got to kill kael'thas pre-nerf we managed to kill him within like 50 pulls if I remember correctly it was very underwhelming.

I did start raiding in the start of the expansion and I remember the guild struggled with most bosses post Attumen. I joined a guild with people full tier 3, so skill really wasn't the issue.
